Katsuragi Keima is known on the net as the god of getting the girls while in real life he’s known as otamegane and he hates all real girls. However he is approached by Elsie, a devil from hell, to help her in catching runaway spirits that hide in people. Apparently the spirits only hide in the hearts of girls and the only way to get the souls out is by making the girl fall in love so the spirit gets forced out. Pure Skill on 'Conquering' Girls
without any emotional attachment, Keima just go for it and very successful with it. witness the mastery of enamoring any females from the guy who don't even care.
~ but to witness such pure mastery, you must be patient until few arcs have ended. but don't worry, the excitement will continuously escalates. without fail.

smartly developed at start, but should have ended by now
I was originally a fan of the series, but in the end it has been continued past where it should have and it now has become pretty terrible.
I'm also disappointed that the main character never really evolved in the end. He seeks a boring life (solo fantasy video games), which he prefers over real life, no matter how thrilling his life actually is.

At first, Particularly, Romance in Shounen isn't a Major genre. some people would rather pick a shojou if they want a nice, good, sweet, romance manga. i've already read a bunch of shounen manga which contain a romance as a main genre, some popular shounen romance manga always pick a poor, hopeless, idiotic, pervert male protagonist, over that there is some manga which just sell a meaningless ecchi, maybe thats why some people pick romance shoujo over a shounen romance.
TBH i don't hate ecchi, if its appear not to much, its realy good and a plus point to make.. c'mon people! its shounen, the Fan Service is always, plus the sub genre like harem should have some "ecchi".. but i think, if its too much "the dish will be too salty". so thats why i dont realy like pervert/hopeless protagonist which always caught in some ecchi scenes with their harem..
I found The Protagonist in this TWGOK Series is realy UNIQUE, he isn't hopeless, he isn't dumb, he isn't pervert, and on top on that he is a GENIUS..
actualy, Genius Male Lead is mostly often found in Shojou manga, to think that we find a genius male lead in shounen romance its a rare..
And of course i couldn't get enough to think how brilliant the author is, tamiki wakaki sensei throw an outstanding fresh plot in every chapter, the plot always make me excited to read, and always makes me shouting "woah.. woah..." when i read a new realeased chapter.. i'm never get bored to read again and again..
some people throw a doubt in their comment, but 'til now i'm never see the doubt become real.. the author always exceed the expetation..
This is masterpiece, so i dont have any reason to not recommend you to read this manga..

My current favourite.
Please do not read the premise of this series and get put off immediately. It is far better than it originally looks.
I love this series. It is one of the few that actually makes me laugh. Sure, it starts out a bit repetitive, with the new girl, charm, capture, repeat cycle but later it starts to develop into a more "proper" plot. You'll be surprised how much the older parts come into play.
I will however say this appears to be one that is best read weekly. Reading it in large blocks (which I had to do for the first few captures until I caught up) kinda drains the humour a little bit. However it is still great to read, and the later chapters ( starting around 54, when tenri comes in) leave you begging for more every week..
I just love this series, it's a lovely laugh every week. It's the only one I really miss when the magazines go on a break.
this series have very high comedic value and moe characters. it is a refreshing take on the harem genre where the main character actually try to capture the girls' heart, not just sitting there and somehow girls fall into his lap. the character design is very cute especially when keima is in his 'god' mode. there is no gratuitous ecchi scene that will reduce the story's value (though i love ecchi). it is light hearted and will put a smile on your face, even with the 'heavier' arc. highly recommended. i think girls will love this simply because keima's conquering technique is just too amusing
the only reason i dont give it a ten is because it's my principle to never give anything full mark.
edit im crying like a baby. the ending bring me to tears! to TEARS!!!! such a perfect good ending, i can never envision it. my OTP getting realised, im crying for happiness. and i just love the elaborate plot, i can see the mangaka take great care of everything and everything is resolved nicely. i take back my previous statement - this manga will receive the holy number 10.

It deserves a 10/10
This is -> 1> The most original Idea I've ever come across 2> A Story Beautifully told 3> Excellent set of Characters 4> Actions are amazingly and perfectly executed 5> Artwork is Extremely Imaginative... people who lack imagination will have problems with a few frames... 6> A living tribute to all Gal Games/H-Games/Dating sims 7> Excellent ideas and intelligent main character make this even more fun and gripping. 8> Ah! I wanna say more.... but got some games to play
I've recommended this to everyone I know on this planet... It's just that good
Updated: The Ending satisfied me. Your opinion may vary based on which girl "YOU" fall in love with.

that is indeed his world
"Once again, reality proves to be a shitty game" Keima Katsuragi, The World Only God Knows vol.1 pg.69 pnl.3
This phrase resumes the main character's philosophy. he is extremely smart, BUT could be clinically depressed xD His ideal word, and ideal girls, exists only in gaming, probably by his own glorified notion of what it should be. this is indeed a shitty world, most of us who can join this site on our idle time are lucky enough to NOT worry about what are we going to eat tomorrow, or with how many people i got to suck his thing to get the food. So we can tend to forget how hard things are for a LOT of people in this wide world. He decided not to care about this shitty world and shut himself on gaming, but he was forced back to reality by a life or dead deal xD. The plot has become thicker than I would have ever guessed at the beginning, and I have to tell you that I’m waiting eagerly for a new dose of his world every week.
Beware the cliffhangers.
It is pretty tough to make a uniquely dysfunctional character nowadays, especially in manga where every other character is a freak but somehow Keima stands out as one in a class of its own. This series pretty much rides on his messed up way of life and how he refuses to deviate or apologize for it.
The stories have been carried solidly by him for well over a hundred chapters now and they are still going on strong. The story arcs have become longer and longer and with that comes more and more cliffhangers driving more than a few readers into rages and face palm moments. This has not stagnated the story though as a lot of plot development has been built at a steady pace as a result.
Amazing ...though requires an open mind sometimes
I've pretty much been following this manga since forever ago, and I must say it is a true masterpiece among shounen manga. Nowadays I follow very few shounen mangas because many of them are pretty much the same things with different formats ....but TWGOK is different. As others have stated, the setting is pretty cliched (a harem with some anti-social fellow getting a lot of girls), but the actual plot and protagonist are very unique: the guy is NOT just some passive douchebag waiting for girls to fall out of the sky for him, but rather an actual genius (albeit a very irritating one sometimes) that comes to truly care and make great efforts to conquer the girls he comes across, and not for his own pleasure (he hates 3D girls), but out of necessity and, eventually, actual empathy. That, and many other aspects of this story make it unusually ellegant for a shounen manga.
Now I say it requires an open mind mostly because of the latest story arc: it really deviates a lot from the premise of the series and becomes much less of a comedy while turning pretty serious. You start seeing things like actual deaths and real violence occasionally, and the whole conquering girls part seems to have been (most likely) put on hold for the time being. After reading some of the latest reviews, it seem this has put off many fans. I personally think it's a wonderful development that ties in very well with the story as a whole and follows up on many little things hinted at beforehand, while also showing a lot of character development. And it's not like the story's permanently changed course either ...this last arc seems to be close to its end and a lot of comedy is resurfacing.
Sorry if this seemed too long ...I just really like this manga and would advice everyone to try it sometime.

Ending ruined it for me
Despite my enjoyment of this series, despite the depth of this story, despite the interesting and clever characters...I just can't score it higher because I disliked the ending THAT much. What a pity.
