I don't even know where to start from

This manga was so bad. I mean so bad beyond words, I can't even describe how awful it is.
Too much sex. YES, THERE IS A THING CALLED TOO MUCH SEX.
The plot is too much Drama-queen like. If you can even call this thing a plot.
They fell in love way too fast and then..... 18 volumes of BOREDOM and repeated scenes.
I hate Shinjo Mayu's habit of dragging her manga beyond the draggable.
I think that if it was shorter I wouldn't have rate it 1, maybe 4 or so.
The length in her works is only a disadvantage.
I liked better some of her shorter works, such as Haou Airen, Akumana Eros, Midnight Children was OK too and the Tokimeki Note series. Mid 90's and 2001-2002 were her best years in my opinion. Anything before or after is just vague...
Now she's trying her luck in Yaoi... that should be interesting. I hope she won't stretch it to 100 volumes as well XD

The Title Is Deceiving

I thought the rock star image was too flashy.. More pop band looking. There was no heart pounding love making scene.. Artistry not my favourite..
Starts off with her meeting the rock star pretty fast. Them falling for each other fast. And just the same annoying interference from others the whole time.. With them doing the same thing to each other as a solution. Just to end in such a predictable way.

BRACE YOURSELVES THE FEMINISTS ARE COMING!

This series is odd to me. I like it but at the same time I hate the art. The story line is pretty much all sex, but hey...gotta get your thrills somehow. I wouldn't normally like something like this but for some reason I was able to finish it and come back to read a few of my favorite parts again.

Now I should explain the title of this comment. I hate feminists and the entire time I was reading this I was thinking "let the feminists begin to complain". Apparently, reading the other comments, I was correct. If you are a feminist you are NOT going to like this manga as it deals with some touchy subjects to some people. If you are not a feminist you still might not like it (due to the amount of sex). If you like sex in your manga and a lot of it, you will probably like this manga.

It's all a matter of what you like and what you find 'immoral'. In my personal opinion, it wasn't really my thing but that doesn't mean I am going to say it is 'horrible' or 'sexist'.

(If you share a computer with your family I would highly recommend you delete your history when you are done reading this manga. Wouldn't want any little brothers or sisters stumbling across this.)

[Don't complain about the sex when it is tagged as Smut]

Dull and forgettable, not to mention unbearably cliche

This manga just topped my list for the worst shoujo I've ever read.

No attempt whatsoever was made to deepen the plot of the shallow genre of showbiz (it's so overdone that hard work is needed for a masterpiece about showbiz) The author stuck in the randomest "romantic" situations in illogical parts. It makes you wonder what kind of people these characters are, and if they are mentally sane. I can't see why these two would fall for each other so quickly!!

It must be the sex organs telling them to find somebody. How lonely and shallow that is.

Also, the low level teenage angst infuriated me. What's with this continuous outside interference? Honestly are you all that stupid?! I can't even....

Even the smut scenes are cheap, I wasn't turned on at all ha ha ha. Totally not worth anyone's while.

EDIT: I came across the manga again, and it's just as bad this time. sad I don't recommend this.

Manga: like the rest of Shinjo Mayu's stuff ... lots ... and lots ... of smut ... and not much else.
Anime: completely different. Goes over the development of the band and has an interesting storyline. Actually pretty entertaining.

Decent enough

I didn't know what to think when I read the summary. I found it odd to think that a girl would write sensual songs and be good at it. But due to this ability, she was found out by a band and became their lyricist and fell in love with the lead singer. So, something good did come from this odd ability. Though I did notice that even though she is the lyricist, she only wrote about two or three songs for the band in the story. Anyway, I really enjoyed the story and found the love between Aine and Sakuya endearing. I especially liked how protective Sakuya was about Aine. I like it when the boy is protective because it shows he really loves the girl. It also helps that Sakuya is good looking!

@bunny pink, nice to see you are not ranting.......hmm?. Well, personally, i don't have anything against Shinjo Mayu but neither do I like rape manga. However, there's one thing that struck me, it was pretty ballsy of Aine to not let the fact that she was raped ruin the rest of her life. Some women aren't dat strong enuf to 4get such a painful event. I want to believe that is the msg the mangaka wanted us to have.

Some of the comments are too critical, people mainly comment on the lameness of her characters or forceful sex, but everyone knows what to expect from Mayu's works and it is exactly why her works are being read. Personally I couldn't get past a few chapters, it simply got boring, all the drama isn't very dramatic. As for the smut, the sex scenes are so repetitive and boring too, there are plenty of other mangas with much better smut content. what I do actually dislike is the ART. Seriously, what's up with the guy's hair and overall proportions? the female is only half size but surprise surprise has a pretty amazing d-cup bust! With such proportions their sex positions would be impossible to implement...

I'M AGAINST SEXISM

Ok,let's get something straight.I respect Mayu Shinjo as a manga artist, and I don't hate her or anything. But,as a feminist and a person who knows when something is not wright,I have to say that Mayu Shinjo's works are: UNREALISTIC,UNMORAL,SADISTIC,MYSOGYNISTIC (hatred toward women),and not to mention the huge amount of SEXUAL VIOLENCE,or in other words,RAPE.:-(
I know that some people might think that it is ridiculous to discuss about a perverted manga, because the genre tells us what this kind of manga is all about. But,there is a huge difference between "erotic love" and "rape".I've read a couple of Shinjo's works (which I feel a bit ashamed),they include LOVE CELEB,KAIKAN PHRASE and HAOU AIREN.Most of the girls in Shino's mangas are so stupid it hurts, with a brain size of a walnut. They are so naive that a 3 year old couldn't compare, and so weak that it makes me wanna scream.:-@
The guys must always be soo handsome,popular,athletic,intelligent...actually,Mayu Shinjo makes them look so perfect in comparison to the girl characters that it makes me wanna puke. And I especially hate the same themes in her mangas:the guys always appear nice and charming in the beggining, then later show their true sadistic nature.I would say that the most disguisting male character to me was deffinatelly Hakuron from "Haou Airen".He was everything I hate:
cruel,manipulative,two-faced,and a real rapist.:-@ I felt misery, anger&hatred at the same time while reading it. I was so glad that Hakuron got killed in the end becouse he totally deserved it.
It makes me sad that Mayu Shinjo writes stuff like this, and I think that her works are offensive to both women and men.I think that every normal guy could never do such a thing to a woman he loves.
And there is also a question for these mangas: Would the main female character love the main guy if he wasn't soo handsome and popular? Would she let him rape her if he was an old, ugly and wrinkly man? Of course not,but it seems that Mayu Shinjo tries to prove in her mangas that "As long if the guy is handsome&perfect,he can do with me what ever he wants.Even if it means raping and hurting me." :-(
Please, don't make me laugh and throw up at the same time. :-@
This was my personal opinion about her mangas, but I didn't mean to offend the readers of her works. If you like Mayu Shinjo's works, feel free to read them.Everyone has the right to read what they want and have their own opinion.
