A total letdown!
Dislike the main characters, I felt no chemistry between the two. It was as if she suddenly decided she missed and loved the guy when there was never a real connection that happened, and she just became dead set on it. She didn't mind that he was responsible for the death of her mother and that it took him the whole manhwa to even meet up with, to just get slashed by him. Like seriously girl, you're prolly just delusional, I see no love. The spoiled prince was an even better candidate for you but he was still annoying as he had a incestial relationship with his own BROTHER! Arghhh the only character I like would just have to be Preguses, the horse. His hair was nicely drawn and that was it. All the main girl did was stayed back and played the damsel in distress as she constantly called out for the general, who I repeat, slashed her and then somehow makes up for it in her mind. The only two character I was glad that ended up together was the prince and the goddess of beauty. This was intriguing at first but it dragged on and then became a total bore. The character even looks like a Red River ripe off. Him with blonde hair and she with boyish black hair. -_-

most anoing ending ever
Just what means that scene on the pond? General kissing Matias scar and they aren't together? Maria cuould not revealing to nobody her past of Warrior of ocean, or peoples could remember Matia's help I trade and accept her. She and Tedes have to be together!!!!!!
The Best Ending
I tried to read this because the theme is something I kinda like. And wow I'm impressed I could read this to the end. Because since I finished Hot Blooded Girl, nothing from HMR I could read to the end, because it's always the same and the same characters she has in some works of her I've read. Yes, I think it's the best ending. If the story were continued to the point where Matia really changes the land, then even that 15 volumes are just a prologue... And I don't have a confidence that HMR could make it longer without messing up the story, because for me it has been confusing enough. Toward the ending, so many names who-knows appeared. The idea is good, and IMO, from the angle of charas, chara development and relationship, it's also good. But for me that's it. Just like any other shoujo, everything else but those are... just a background. And the female chara. What I think ridiculous is that for all the time it focused in Matia, we could see Matia have done almost nothing useful. And when Matia seems did something useful, we see it as a... time skip. Bwahahaha. For the artwork, I'm so sorry, IMO it's horrible compared to the series with the same theme.

Pros:: Ridiculously good story, and unique. It felt like something that could have potentially happened in ancient times. I particularly liked the break-down and the rebuild of the main character through all of her hardships. The art was well done. Hwang Mi Ri's stories are really hit or miss (and I've read quite a few misses lately), but this one is defnitiely a hit. I'm glad that she took a step away from all of the jjang's and money-loving modern girls/boys to write this story. Hope in the future that she does another one!
Cons: Unfortunately, the scanlator's translation is quite rough and it can get very difficult to follow at times. The story skips from one group of people at once scene, to another group of people at a different scene, and once has a three year time skip... so I definitely got lost and had to re-read a few pages. I truly hope that in the future someone can re-scanlate this manwha or it gets licensed for English.
One of the better HMR story
I usually don't care to much for her works, but this is one of the few that I actually enjoyed. The story line is not very strong, but the main female character is less insufferable than HMRís other female protagonists. This story is a reminiscent of the Red River (which I dislike and couldnít bear to finish) and of Basara (which I adore and read twice), due to the nature of prophecy, of an ancient, historical setting, and of some political upheaval in their nations. Itís not particular well-written, the art is merely average, the characters arenít too memorable, yet despite all that, it was an interesting story to read, and read quickly. The fact that Miata only has feelings for

General Temedes despite having the prince falling in obsessively, crazily in love with her,
and that she is a strong (physically) female character without that over-the-top-Iím-a-strong-jjang annoying attitude is quite refreshing. However, I wish the creator would focus more on the two leads, though I havenít minded that she developed Prince Tyon and Lamodeos, giving them more substance as supporting characters. The pacing is a little off and the ending feels completely rushed and confusing (I have to reread it to understand it), which I can see why many reviewers are unsatisfied. I, however, am rather satisfied as I hate lengthy and repetitive series (*cough* Hot Blooded Woman *cough*).

I really didn`t like the ending! It was like the story was suddenly cut off...and when i reached the ending I clicked and clicked on the "next page" button but there was nothing more! I stared on my PC am stared and stared and then I asked "That was all? For real? Are you JOKING me?"...But it was the real thing... I mean did they get together?Or maybe later? Or they stay alone forever? And now I don`t want to rate it, because I feel the desir to give it only a 1 for the ending! It was one of the worst ending I ever read for quite some time....so now i think I`ll wait one or two month....

I'm usually very forgiving on a manga regardless of ending if only the content itself is good. However, after reading the ending I can say that it's one of the least satisfying ending I've ever read in a manga. I would recommend not to read this simply because you'll feel that you've been wasting your time.
Really? I read the last page and I was like.. uhhh.. I think some pages are missing from volume 15 but NOPE! It's really the end -___- one of the worst endings ever! & for some reason I don't see anything special about Matia... I don't know why both of them like her =/ Back to the ending. So many unanswered questions! The war? The love? The future king? The sister? Ohmahgah, so many things left hanging!
I bet everyone who read this just made up their own ending lol. For once I question why HRM didn't produce more volumes... usually she has a lot of volumes for a manhwa, well 15 usually but I've seen some with more.
more realistic than most
I liked that the main character's emotional development, even if negative, seemed realistic. I think you will enjoy this manga the most if you keep in mind from the beginning that, in my opinion, the main characters are really Prince Tyon and Temedes. I was never a huge fan of Temedes, because he is first characterized as "I would give up everything, even my country, for my love" and later characterized as "I would give up everything, even my love, for my country." The latter character, who he became pretty early on, was pretty dull and didn't develop. As a slight spoiler, there are very few romantic scenes between Matia and Temedes after, say, book 4. It's as if the manhwa-ka realized that she didn't actually like Matia and Temedes that much, and that the competitor, Prince Tyon, she created, was a much more engimatic and complex character, so she chose to focus more on him and his relationship with Lamodeos and also his political intrigue. Personally, Tyon and Lamedeos carried the last two thirds of this manhwa. Their ending was very satisfying. The one between Matia and Temedes was not. Also, this manhwa took more than a few pages from Red River, so you might like that one a lot more if you're looking for the straightforward historical shojou where she marries the king and all that jazz. If you like this kind of new twist on things, I recommend Saver.
Good manga poor ending
It was a cool manhwa for the most part, but I really felt the ending lacked a lot of things. It wrapped up none of the major love plots, none of the war(s), and seriously told us nothing. It was more like a cliffhanger than an ending.
That said, other than that I quite enjoyed it. Also, it seems like everyone in the royal house of... whatever... was bi.
