Description
From Viz:
Rejected way too many times by good-looking (and unattainable) guys, shy Riiko Izawa goes online and signs up for a free trial of a mysterious Nightly Lover "figure." The very next day a cute naked guy is delivered to her door, and he wants to be her boyfriend!

If you want to skim through a manga quickly, then this is a good series to read. If you want character development and original plot, then I would not recommend this story. The characters are all one-dimensional, and the story draws on standard shoujo tropes. However, the artist has a consistent artistic style, and her drawing neither improves nor degenerates as the series progresses. This consistency is a definite positive!

The story is very entertaining and the premise is like every girl's dream, to have the perfect boyfriend. The art is lovely, and I enjoyed it thoroughly. One thing I will stress though: don't take it too seriously. The character of Night is so likable, that the ending was a huge disappointment. The other characters bland somewhat in comparison, including the lead girl, who is too naive and childish for my tastes. *****SPOILERS***** I'll try to keep it brief, but it's I think it's too bad really; there could have been a number of different ways to execute this story, without it having the outcome that it did, but to me it feels rather tragic and leaves one feeling unfulfilled in a way. This is because Riiko chose Night over Soshi, her neighbor - a perfectly kind and handsome HUMAN who happens to love her, and yet she still didn't end up with Night in the end anyway. It would have been better if Night had been able to become a human, in some magical Pinocchio way... then I would have given this a perfect rating. I mean, to go through ALL that, and yet - it all deflates like a balloon.
Still immensely delightful to read though, and I recommend it because there are a lot of nice moments in here.

It's so great, that it is the first manga that makes me cry. I used to listen asian music while reading this manga, and years after I read it, everytime I hear Stella Huang - Wen Shi De Hua (Marmalade Boy) it reminds me of this lovely and funny manga. The most interesting part of this manga is Night, he is somewhat naive but when it comes to sex, he is Ph.D

After everything they've been through. The endnig just made me sad so I decided to not read the ending.

it was a different but cliched manga. the story was alright...up until the end...yeahh, that made me cry (x i really liked the ending. it was different than most shoujos. i don't remember if i liked the girl or not...i read it a while ago. but i didn't hate her...biggrin

For me it was a hit smile MY second manga after reading Fruits Basket..
unlike many others, I was able to accept the fact that Night is a robot, and that's because I'm used to the anime/manga world where robots/aliens/ghosts/non-human creatures exist and follow the paths of humans like any other.....it just wasn't a concept that BOTHERED me much. I fell in love with Night even though he is programmed for that to happen xD, I can't remember feeling anything much for the female lead though....probably just passive acceptance. I really liked the art especially for the males, and it was a touching manga to the last chapter. The end was realistic and sad but I guess it really couldn't have ended in any other way. Besides, it was bittersweet and Yuu Watase definitely did a good job of letting readers remember it! If they had a typical cute ending, I would have forgotten it.

I love the whole story!! I really feel in love with Night! But The ending... it just really pisses me off. Even though I was crying at the end too. Thats why I gave it one Point down, because I really liked the whole story. But the ending... uuuggggghhhh ;A; IT'S HORRIBLE .

what is the world coming to?
A ROBOT?she fell in love with A ROBOT? this reduced me to tears T_T seriously,i dont get the difference between falling in love with a robot and falling in love with a cupboard,i never liked shoujos like kimi ni todoke,vampire knight,hana kimi etc. BUT ATLEAST THEY ALL FELL IN LOVE WITH HUMAN BEINGS

edit:i also found the "supposed tragic ending" a happy one,i was waiting for that to happen since the very beginning niyahahahaha :p

honestly, i don't like any of yu watase's works..trust me i tried reading a lot of her works but they were ALL the same to me. Her characters all look the same and her works are boring.. I'd only read this manga if i was extremely bored and wanted to kill time

As much as i disliked this manga, i ironically liked the drama. Which proves that the plot was good enough, but just failed to impress me in the manga.
