Description
In one unusual Tokyo high school, education takes a backseat to brawling as warring clubs wreak havoc in the hallways and chaos in the classrooms, all vying to be the baddest team around! I normally have this tick - If I started, then I have to finish (unless I stop at the first few chapters), but this... It was a long time ago, so I don't really recall why EXACTLY, but as I'm reading Air Gear right now, I can with utmost certainty know that one of the reasons is his hard-to-comprehend writing/drawing-style. All I know is that I'm pretty frickin' happy I never finished it, and you're probably better off not starting it in the first place (unless you're familiar with his other works and know that you can understand his style, I guess).

The nudity and sex was its only redeeming factor - if you're gonna show tit, draw some nipples on them (which he did as I recall).

It's hard to care about Tenjou Tenge unless you become invested in one character, otherwise there's nothing to follow. You could pretend that the story makes sense and go along with it though, the guy's trying so hard.

ETA: I adore Masataka, and I wish that he had had a bigger role to play in the beginning, but part of my enjoyment of this character is the rewarding experience in which he becomes more prominently portrayed at the end.

To his credit I think anyone can relate to a character here, and the story turns out such a mess because he lets everyone hog the spotlight to their heart's content.

And it's so beautiful. The details are there, but for once they don't obscure focus.

I really had high hopes for this manga. It could have been a lot better if the plot didn't keep on changing.

My favorite arc is Shin's. I wish his relationship with Maya had been further explored.

I mistook the main character too, and man it drove me crazy! It was all set up to be about Takayanagi... and then it wasn't. To top it off, I never even really liked Nagi in the first place. He's a shallow, rude punk with a sad past (aren't they all), and watching the manga butter him up with his 'amazing improvements' is like... gah.

I don't know. I haven't given up on it yet. Maya is particularly fun.

I'm not gonna lie to you...it takes a lot of patience to get into it.........the flash backs are WAAAAAYYYY to long....some of the characters are fucked.....there was a 30 chapter span where I was enjoying it...then there was ANOTHER 2 volume flashback and I said.........fuck it...I skipped to the last chapter...I read it....and it was retarded.....all in all I am only grateful for reading a few chapters...

This was one of those manga that get confusing but you end up enjoying.. my fav pair ended up together.. if you want to read it just pay a lot of attention bcuz if not you will end up confused..

Best manga I ever read, considering that I read hundredths of mangas, about 3 new series a week including oneshots. There was many scenes that triggered my tears and laughter. I did not mind the flashbacks, it was full of information and it gives you more insights on each character. I love the romance, it is not as sugar-coated as most mangas are. It also has the BEST art ever, even Naruto and Bleach is uncomparable. The action is likable and finally, there is a lot of character growth, and each of their tribulation is heart-warming. But, my complaints about this manga are that there are too much texts on each page that becomes a drag sometimes. The ending does seem a bit rushed, as I was expecting something more grand.

so bummed that the manga ended the way it did, seemed like OH GREAT just wanted to cut it short and end the series. My poor Maya died :( it should have ended with the fight on the takayanagi building and it would have been fine.....
