So, I started this, and now I'm kinda bored cos there's no updating. What happened?? I mean, it's getting frustrating because I can't continue it, and the scanlation group left us at a huge cliffhanger!!
Second, I can see what most people are criticizing, but why font you just enjoy the story? Yes, it is getting quite shounen-ai, but I just try to deal with it. Yes, I do kinda read some shounen-Ai, but really for drawing techniques. I agree harem doesn't fit very well, as well as romance, but it is boys' live as a subplot.
To those who are looking for something to read, I would recommend this if you can take some confusing points, and many characters. The good thing about having so many characters is that none of them look a lot the same, so it's easy to at least recognize characters. I myself am a huge gender-bender fan, so this type of thing doesn't bother me, but just try the first and second chaptes for yourself and see what you think.
Amusing at first but then turns disappointing
I usually enjoy crossdressing and shounen-ai mix, but sadly, this series just annoys me. The story and characters of every arc feel extremely shallow and the humor falls flat for me after the first couple chapters...
The premise for the one-shot was really good for sure, but it would get repetitive sooner or later and I think the mangaka made a smart move to just promote kabuki in its heartiness. Haha, Izumo goes through actual character progression and that is accepting his roles and embracing his gift for acting in kabuki.
Be it male or female role. Though he does shine more in female roles and he eventually does accept it.
The whole manga is a journey really of acceptance and growth. The manga touches upon a bit of BL due to the developments between *** (I self-censored for a reason) and Izumo hehe though it's never said whether if they do eventually hehehheheh, so it's open-ended on that part. It has the theme of pansexuality and possibly homosexuality? I don't know what to call it...

I don't think it should be labeled as Harem & Romance, it doesn't contain anything like that at all... And it's slowly turning into Shounen Ai of some sort, but i hope it won't, considering how good the plot is along with the good personality of the protagonist.
all in all, i really liked the manga but i really hope it wont turn into shounen ai and make proof that it really is harem and romance
Rather fun but it quickly becomes too shounen ai. Being forced into any cross-gender role just makes me loose any real interest in the story. I also tend to find that it makes me dislike it after the fact.
Kind of like ouran but more gay
It's like a shonen version ripoff from ouran, though i'm reluctant to say shonen as it's more gay and has more shonen ai scenes than ouran.
Series is easy to read and might have potential but unless author adds some reverse traps or more possible romantic routes with female characters I can easily see it getting cancelled from shounen magazine for being too gay.
Funny but not enough.
A good laugh but other than that there is just too much wrong. 2 volumes in and the same premise has been used 4 out of 4 times for each situation that has occurred. The MC is forced or blackmailed into playing a female role yet this is something he has hated for 8 years but his girlish ignorance makes him accept every time.
The MC is good though, the other characters not so much, and there are basically no females because 3 out of the 4 major characters look like girls so unless you are one of those deranged BL girls this may bother you.
It's hard to like those characters though because one is 15 year old boy who looks and acts like a 8 year girl, another is probably the most homo character I've ever seen and he looks like a girl and likes cross dressing. The last is actually a guy who is refreshing enough the simple air headed, annoying pretty boy.
If I didn't already know how this story would end I would rate it higher and reccomend it but no.
I like this manga. It's entertaining enough that I keep reading, and that's enough for me.
I'm wondering about the romance though. There's no romance in it at all so far, and although it's a kinda slashy manga, it's not shounen-ai either, so I don't get why it's labeled as a romance. Seeing as how it's still on-going it could turn into one...but I really hope it doesn't.

A Smile to my face
I love how the manga blends comedy and serious plot points so well. This manga is so refreshing compare to most of the Shounen manga out there. I'm thankful to the mangaka that instead of a battle manga as shown in the oneshot, she turns the manga into a enjoyable story. This manga hasn't fail to give me a smile and I hope it would give you the same joy it gave me.
Fun in pages
seriously... one of the best manga's i ever readed... It 'has' some boys love, but it still is a shounen... I really HATE shounen-ai... but in this manga, the protagonist hate as much as i am... So that is what make's this manga so funny. When he makes all that cute face's and see someone drooling for him, hahahahha i laugh only remembering... ahahhahahaha
AWESOME, an big hurray for this mangaka... i hope best wishes for you. And for the ppl translating this too =]
