Description
From Tokyopop:

Brilliant and overachieving, Misaki Ayuzawa is the President of the Student Council at Seika High School, formerly a boys' school. Unfortunately, most of the students are still male and stuck in their slovenly habits, so man-hating Misaki really socks it to 'em in an attempt to make the school presentable to attract more female students. But what will she do when the sexiest boy in school finds out that after school, Misaki works in a maid cafe.

Wow. People...can actually DISLIKE THIS!?!? WHAT!?!? I don't think people should "de-rate" anything(like mangas) unless they find it offensive. It's all based on people's opinions anyway. But for me:
I. LOVE . THIS .
With a fiery passion. The art is great! I love to look at the pictures. And the story line is unique! I mean, sure according to people there's "cliche's", but the way the author PUTS TOGETHER the "cliche's" and uses them is what matters. FUJIWARA Hiro does an awesome job. > biggrin

1: The character is amazing. She's strong willed, and has pride, but that makes all of the situations she goes through so interesting!
2: The situation she goes through? AWESOME. No other manga I've read has a strong willed girl fall in love with a "perfect" guy, without HUGELY changing the main character in the process.

Anyway. I could go on.
Simply put:

Just read this. There's no way you'll regret it. I haven't , and I don't think I will c: .

HOLY CRAP HOLY CRAP HOLY CRAP I JUST READ CHAPTER 69 HOLY SHIZNITZELS!!! !!!!!! GAAHHH OMGGGG!!!
TTFN~
TaTaForNow

PS FOR READERS WHO HAVE "lost the love"
Just re-read it. Then, the whole storyline will flow together like it should, instead of the fragmented scanlation reading . (: You'll regain that "lost" love (and MORE! ) In NOOOOOOOOOOOoOOoOOOoOOoooooooOOOoOOOooooOOoOOoooOoooooo time at all ;P!

----
UPDATE A LONG WHILE LATER:
....this manga has no where else to go. Like, it's purpose was fufilled quite a few chapters ago, and now, wha? The author is just rambling. I mean WOO! *spoiler* they got together after hardships, hooray! But it still keeps going? MOre little plot twists? ....What?

This little section I just wrote seems confusing, but that's how I feel about this series now. It just keeps on going, after it should have ended happily a while ago. I don't even know.
Still good! Reccommended, but dont be afraid to drop it after awhile...

i love everyone in this series. it maybe a little like those 4 panel comics but u got to have a patience to read and understand. i've read to chap 76 and i want more.especially misaki and usui. There is a twist in the plot so those who don;t knw where this is giong i suggest u read chap 69-76.i also liked how igarashi changed after meeting misaki.
then if u don;t like it i have no complaint. i think u should give it a try.
BY FAR FOR ME IT IS THE BEST SHOUJO I HAVE READ!!!!!!

But I'm just not in the mood for this kind of not quite funny enough or romantic enough manga. It just drags on an on with the same stuff happening which I realise is how most of these things usually play out but it doesn't have the spark that sets the greats apart. I might come back to it but I doubt it.

Can I just say that Kaichou Wa Maid Sama is the BEST manga ever!! I look forward to see the new chapters. Usui is the best Male figure and Misaki shines my world! If you have not read it yet you better start because its AMAZING! <3 Don't listen to other people when they say it sucks because I can tell you a million reason why it doesn't. Read all of it and judge it yourself.

it sucks. it just sucks so much it actually pisses me off that i kept trying to read it for like 40 chapters. i wasted so much of my time that i will never get back... usui is so annoying because his way of showing love is SO frickin' subtle that it's annoying. i personally like when a guy shows a soft spot once in a while but even then usui is just meh. and misaki pisses me off to no end i don't even know why.
i didn't really write this for everyone else to see since they're all gonna get mad at me. but for me, because if i ever try to pick this series up again i'll read this and remind myself to never. EVER. try this series EVER again

I can honestly say I was just going to skip this one, but I picked it up anyway. I can try and compare it to another manga, but it feels special/unique in it's own way, so I wouldn't really know where to start with comparing it. The art is something I can appreciate, it's cute as hell (I'm not a shoujo reader, but I do occasionally enjoy it) but I'm not so sure where the story is going? I'd like a plot twist somewhere in there and soon. If that detail can be fixed up a bit, this manga has potential. I recommend you read the manga before you go straight to the anime, just to test the waters out on whether this is your cup of tea shoujo or not.

I honestly do enjoy this manga! I've seen the anime too, but when i began reading the manga I had to begin at Chapter 36 (something along those lines) because I wouldn't want to read something i already saw in the anime.
There is Hilarious Comedy which always leaves me laughing for 'ages', The sweetest (at least in my opinion) romantic moments, and then theres the sad moments sad ......
Anyways...To sum it all up, this is a great manga! 10/10!
The Female lead is strong and smart, but she still has her weaknesses smile
The fact that she is a Tsundere just adds to her character, in my opinion, it just makes it more interesting smile The male lead is interesting as well
Love the art too ^_^

I apologise in advance to people, as this is a rant.

For starters, this is a really good manga because, even though it follows many clichés found in shoujo manga, this makes it wonderful as it doesn't rush the story, and is the natural progression of love between a hater of men and... Usui, for lack of a better word. The fact that Misaki doesn't suddenly turn around and says "I love you!" and they live happily ever after, adds to the realism, as it takes many trials and efforts for Usui to squeeze into Misaki's heart. Also, the fact that after becoming a couple, he hatred for men doesn't diminish, but over time as she makes new friends, and even how she still acts like Misaki around Usui, even when dating.

Secondly, Misaki is tsundere. Meaning she is prone to dramatic changes which makes her ever so loveable, people who say she becomes a blushing idiot. You're the idiot, as that is the essence of tsundere, otherwise it would be just tsun, an angry, violent, unloveable female dog that would be boring for a main character. She becomes more tsundere in later chapters, but less tsun and more dere as Usui slowly becomes important to her.

Thirdly, Usui has been, from the very start, and always will be, a pervert. It's what makes Usui, Usui. It isn't forced, but a natural feature he has. For those who say it's forced or unnatural, are idiots too. If he wasn't perverted, it wouldn't make him Misaki's most incompatible guy, and therefore destroy a somewhat mismatched couple element. Also, he wouldn't have been able to break down Misaki's defences like he did.

Fourthly, Misaki doesn't change when she becomes a couple with Usui. Yes she may become more dere than tsun like she was with him, but that's the point. She changes, not to an absolute different person, but to a more open person to him, like he cracked her shell. A relationship is good if it changes people in that way.

Sorry for the rant. This is a worthwhile manga with a realistic love story, even if people have personal preferences which deny this. For me, however, it was truly the best shoujo manga I've ever read.

Incidentally I found the secondary characters more entertaining, since the only reason that I picked up this series was mainly for some comic relief. Especially loved Suzuna, Satsuki and the idiot trio (san baka).
