Theme of piano was awesome

It's true that there wasn't much plot, but I still couldn't drop this series. Both main characters were immensely likeable. The main girl protagonist was strong-willed and determined, and complemented the almost fragile and elegant personality of the main male protagonist perfectly. Being a piano player myself, I enjoyed the way the theme of the piano was presented throughout the series, and how the characters used piano music to express themselves and communicate with each other. The assortment of characters throughout is also quite nice, although the main protagonists are the most strongly developed characters, so don't expect much character development other than that. It should be noted that the two main characters grow on you throughout the series. I liked how they weren't just transparent characters who didn't change and improve along the way.

Overall, it's a refreshing, uplifting manga. If you enjoy shoujo manga or play the piano (or any musical instrument for that matter), I'd recommend reading this manga. Give it a try! biggrin

I guess my review's going to be one big spoiler.
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
After the romantic relationship is established, it really goes downhill from there, and the romance was barely entertaining before that point. It throws in the cliche "artist living in the shadow of his famous daddy has issues" near the end, leaving for a poor excuse of a climax/ending.

It really isn't much of a read, unfortunately, and it's a shame to see such nice artwork go to waste.

Admittedly, there wasn’t a plot. But for some reason, I liked this manga. It’s not a classic by any means and is a quick read so I read it. The girl is a tomboy (a real one, not the supposed ones in many series) and her personality fit my taste, while the guy is feminine but elegant/composed (and more in love with her than she is with him) and I unexpectedly liked him too. Really weird. Anyways, they were enough to keep me entertained and the focus on their music also helped a bit. I’d recommend this but don’t expect too much. It’s a decent, speedy read that you might find cute.

Loved this manga

Maybe it's just me but I really loved this manga.

The art is actually really nice and I didn't expect it because Nishikata Mai's art in Hana no Kishi wasn't that appealing to me... there's something weird with the way I view things. I don't know. It just seems to me like Venus Capriccio's art is better than her most recent work.

As for the story, I find it quite cute that the progress is slow and that throughout the whole manga, there was only 1 kissing scene. Being a pianist myself, I loved how they used the piano as a form of communication. The character personalities are indeed cliche, but I still found it quite entertaining. The comedy came out naturally and not forced, for me, and that's a good thing.

Hated the ending, honestly, but I usually hate the endings of most manga. This story's ending was a bit annoying for me because I would rather they ended the manga with a scene where Takami is already a successful concert tuner and Akira is the one playing in the concert, not with Takami and Akira only achieving half-way.

Typing this serious is seriously killing my brain and fingers.

It does indeed seem a little cliche and all but i really like the feelings that this manga presents. It's a light read full of growth, character development, love and dreams and possibilities.

Not really a fan of the ending though. But i did see it coming, it was kinda obvious from the start that he would study abroad. The last chapter where he comes back to visit her was also predictable but i do wish there was another chapter showing their lives 10 years later when they both become successful.

Nevertheless, i enjoyed this manga! It's simple, light and heartwarming

The plot wasn't good. The art was only above average. The characters were slightly "Mary-Sue" (and somewhat predictable). My list of flaws could continue for a while.
I liked this manga though; it's a pretty good quick read, so if you're in the mood for quick, sweet, and simple, it doesn't get better than this.

Just try not to be an critical reader like I am--it doesn't end well for any manga you read.

I really wanted to start reading this manga because the art work is very beautiful, and the story line seemed interesting. Firstly, I'm surprised that he comes out very quickly, and the rest seems as fillers for her to reply. It doesn't have much action and was very boring.

As a critic, I suppose this is a good read if you just want a hint of romance which is unique in the perspective that both sides were a;ready perfect and complimenting each other. There is some character and plot development but, since the characters were close to perfect in their roles anyway, not much was done, but that's fine. It's not simple comedy, nor the deep stuff. What saves it is the lack of cheesy romantic roles one can fine in a cliche shoujo, the ones in shounen, and heck even a number of those found in seinen or josei, roles that show quite impractical and unrealistic thought pattern (but those are fun sometime...only sometimes).

A good read if u want to do all 5 vols at one shot

I really liked this serie. First, because the artwork is amazing, fresh and beautiful - not cute as many shoujos, it gave me a cool and class feeling. It's true the story is slow but it goes with the mood - cool and calm. So, I recommend it to everyone.
