About girls with ummm interesting body types

this manga isn't awful. But it's not one of the greats either.

The harpy is funny. The idea of trying to make a horse sexy is funny. The character is amusing.
The girl that is suppose to be the main Love interest is fine. she doesn't stand out too much but she's
a nice girl. You'd be surprise how many attempts at personality or drama just make a worst character.
The storyline with the arachne was very true, she is very damn scary.

The problem is that compare this to love hina. There is nothing really driving the plot.
The MC is almost forgotten. he has no goals. He's not trying to engage society or achieve anything.

So there's essentially not plot. And it's not a slice of life.

I don't hate on harems. I think they can be funny because they are parodies and humour based. And you can use them to show different types of girls someone might date in their life all at once.

But in this case it would have served the story for this to not be a harem. For each girl to be with
a differenet partner or family ect. Just for the sake of creating different stories to bounce off the personalities. But still being a group of friends in a close location. And the MC needed a secondary goal perhaps(this could be just planning to move somewhere with his monster girlfriend ect). Or even any kind of development.

Like compared to Jitsu wa Watashi wa, this gets blown out of the water.

But I do like most of the characters. I really cannot hate on this series.

As an aside: Boy is residentgrigo full of himself. The stereotype of harem really harms it when it's so untrue. The MC in this actually very strong of will and a good person who literally dies continuously to give these people a home. The rest is hating on peoples quirks. I would not take points because I'm not into "monster girls". It affects the situation. But even they noted, they're character is not based on acting like animals but on other archetypes(cept maybe the harpy and suu the goo).

Let's examine his criticisms. The idea that the MC has no good points and did nothing is flat out the window.
The rest is that it's not "erotic" enough. It's not erotica. It's a comedy. A light hearted comedy. It'd be like calling ranma 1/2 an erotica.

Suffice it to say, you can enjoy all series. And you aren't a better person because you can't enjoy something.

Extremest form of ecchi I've ever seen. That's basically the content as well. Extreme Ecchi with monster girls. If you want some ... Stimulation, go for it, otherwise there's better stories out there.

This is an ok read; not bad but not great either. The beginning was quite good(up to a bit after the anime ended) but at this point (vol 12) it started to get a bit monotone, hopefully regaining momentum in the future. That being said; I think it`s a good read, especially if you`re bored. Will continue reading it after more volumes get filled.

An unerotic harem waste
by residentgrigo

Rating: 3.0  / 10.0
"Dickegrobe" already said all with his assent that the series has been assembled with a manga construction kit for beginners, so i will keep the actual critique short and focus on what should be read instead.
The avatar MC is the typical virgin wimp who gets all the "women" due to a deus-ex-machina as this is how porn/harem works while the readers objects of attraction are a quirky girl next door (the snake), a Yamato Nadeshiko (the horse), a tomboy (the bird), a bisexual temptress (the spider) and a Rei clone may have joined the cast too but i can´t care to check as i won´t waste any more of my time with this circle jerk nonsense that preaches friendship at first and to then give you random lesbian SM sex next. Harem is further a dead waste 99,5% of the time and the deconstructive Sayonara Zetsubou-Sensei (9/10) should be the final word on it. A real romance would be Kids on the Slope (10/10) or Mars (10/10) while the satirical Jigokuren - Love in the Hell (8/10) proves that even ecchi can have it´s place in the world. The Eisner winning Saga (10/10) by Image actually bother to have explicit man on beast-woman action in-between the gore and social commentary so even mock bestiality can work.
So why does this sell again? Oh right the manga started out the exact same time a certain pony show got big on the web and thus filled a void in the marketplace so have fun with the copycats as even the author started a "spin-off".
It may be minimally more readable do to less sexism while having better character designs but Okayado is now dead to me and i have my hopes up that a real mangaka will step in at some point to deconstruct the beast girls phenomenon as it grew out of control. Have fun with the unenviable Tenchi ending after 20+ volumes of vapid and unerotic nothing if you care to stick around or read porn by let´s say TANAKA Yutaka instead.

Currently one of the best...
by Lost Rabbit

Rating: 9.5  / 10.0
I'm willing to say that I find this series to be possibly one of the best harem series out there to date. Of course, saying such a bold statement deserves an explanation, so let's get right to it!
Quote from dickegrobe
This one is an extremely cliché harem manga. Actually, it is so cliché that it feels like being made from a manga construction kit (one for beginners at that).

Why yes, the series does follow some clichés and comes to be pretty self-aware of it, as it has various chapters dedicated to different locations/scenarios for the girls to be in (hot springs, dates in town, dates in a park, etc.) However, I'd also disagree with the series being completely clichéd, as if "built from a manga construction kit." Maybe in the beginning that's how the series had been, but I'd give the author a lot of credit to for his overall approach to the series thus far:
An adult guy that's tasked to take care of different monster girls, each and every one of them with different physical conditions + requirements that need to be attended to daily.

Notice how nowhere in the description is "high school" mentioned, which is clearly one of the most typical settings an author could have their story take place. A high school setting would've been incredibly easy to write about for checking off a list of clichés (*cough cough* Valkyria Nainen Kikan), but no, the author stuck with the characters being adults. Not only that, but the author makes an effort to "world-build" a bit, imagining how the government and different businesses would change themselves to be inclusive to the various different species of monsters. In that regard, it's creative and even sometimes a bit clever for what he manages to come up with.

Another thing to keep in mind is that unlike a majority of harem protagonists that are loved by the ladies as "losers with just a kind personality," the girls in this series actually have believable reasons for loving the protagonist, which maybe has to do with the fact that they're monsters! They hadn't been treated very nicely by some humans in their life, so when they have a young guy that's tasked to take care of their every need, treating them like normal girls with the upmost respect and kindness, it truly makes perfect sense as for why they'd each fall in love with him. When it comes to his reasoning for trying to resist their advances, he's simply hoping to not get in trouble with the government (mainly in the beginning, till things kind of change later on with that issue).

As Nursero, SSJR2, Jandalman, and claudiofd pretty much mentioned, the series is a light-hearted romcom. The author's ballsy enough to alienate some readers of the genre (as xeno01 sums that up), and he's passionate when catering to the (presumably) small demographic of readers that really love true monster girls like he does.

@residentgrigo
Harem is 99.5% a dead waste of time? Seriously? An entire genre defaults almost any series that has it as a waste of time to it's readers? That's a bit of a slap to the face...
Honestly, it's tough to agree with an opinion that holds such bias as yours. I respect it of course, but I mean for fuck sake, it's a romantic comedy series consisting of light hearted chapters amongst its cast of characters, and you're putting it up against such high standards of 2 award-winning series... That's not to say that good writing shouldn't be strived for; however, it's insulting to basically ignore the particularly interesting + somewhat "unique" ideas I mentioned by the author, where Japanese society alters itself to fit the needs of a vast variety of human/monster hybrids. So please, stop bringing up the "made with a manga construction kit" point that you felt so intent to focus on. I already debunked it (as clearly, there's an enormous disproportion of harem stories with high schoolers compared to ones revolving around adults), and so I'd rather not repeat myself upon that matter.

Ecchi can be Good

I was beginning to lose hope in any manga with the ecchi tag or any fan service in it, but along comes "Monster Musume no Iru Nichijou" and I can now confidently say "Ecchi can be Good". Warning: if your looking for a story line, look elsewhere.
Now usually that point annoys the heck out of me as it is usually my gripe with most harems out there, because after the initial introduction of characters the plot stagnates and then it becomes a rinse and repeat of boring content (e.g. Nisekoi).
So how come this one doesn't fall into that trap? Well because the author can introduce as many girls as he wants, some can join the harem whilst others can just be an entertaining add. The main thing that allows this to be pulled of, is the fact that they are monster girls. Each with a history and unique behaviors that are inherent in their kind. It's kind of like going to the zoo and seeing new animals all the time, it never gets old.
The ecchi at times can be a little overbearing, with bre*sts coming out at an oddly frequent rate, but as I kept going I either ignored it or enjoyed it a lot.

Overall great manga that restored my hope in ecchi!

Monster girls, love it or hate it

this is definitely kinda interesting it is basically a generic harem story but with "monster girls" as they would call it so basically a world with half human have something esle people. this isnt that weird to me cause its been done many times and in many different ways like elves, vampires, demons, angles, etc. so its really not so weird but this does have a lot of ecchi so it can be weird to some. anyway i like the art, comedy and different monster girl design but i am a little worried about the story i dont think there is much of a main plot yet and i dont know how long they can stretch this by doing what they've been doing so far
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
which is basically introducing a new monster girl almost every other chapter and adding a lot of ecchi of course
so yea i just hope the plot developed a bit more

honestly i really tried to read this but i can never get pass the 1st chapter. the story is crap the art is ok at best n the characters are so cookie cutter that there is no originality to this story aside from the girls being monsters. n there not the sexy complete human types we all know n love with the only differance being would be animal ears or tails no these ones are like literally 1/2 human 1/2 animal chicks which is kinda gross. but if thats ur thing than this mangas for u. but if your reading thins just to see some tities u might as well just read hentai u most likely will get better art.

This one is an extremely cliché harem manga. Actually, it is so cliché that it feels like being made from a manga construction kit (one for beginners at that).

However, the manga is not bad for being cliché - anything would become cliché at some point (albeit being cliché usually is not a good thing... unless you are Quentin Tarantino). This manga IS bad for being neither funny nor sexy, interesting or pleasing any other way (unless you are satisfied by the fact that you get to see different types of tits... small lolli-type tits, averagely huge mangatits and unreal fluffy cloud-like mountains of flesh). I am not going to comment on the plot... there is not much.

As for the good points - art is OK and the storytelling seems consistent (you won't get lost between the panels). I rate this 3/10.

lmfao i saw this and i instantly thought of monster girl quest "Lamia.. Harpy..." + picture makes me think the author had played the game and decided to make another story, I've only read a few chapters but i am enjoying it bit by bit it's nothing major plot wise its a good relaxing manga to read after a long read, if you go in expecting what you see then you won't be disappointed however if you go in expecting something other than a harem/ecchi/perverted humor then you probably will be disappointed overall i give it a good 8 the main love interest reminds me of Sia from shuffle not only looks but in personality as well
