Entertaining but...

After one volume I'm not sure how I feel. On the one hand it is entertaining and as a fan of BL myself I'm amused.at that aspect. But on the other hand so far it's basically been episodic "look how put upon I am by my girlfriends weird hobby", lots of jokes and gags without a lot of exploration into their actual relationship. Based upon volume one anyway if you're looking for couple growth and exploration this might not be the manga you are looking for. Otherwise it's an entertaining read for a rainy day.

I see a lot of people complaining that this manga goes nowhere, so I would like to offer an alternative point of view for those that are interested in reading it and can't make up their mind. This story is not supposed to go anywhere: Like many good gag manga, it is episodic, the reader is there for the ride, for the laughs, for the insights, for the crazy behaviors of the characters, not for some suspenseful conclusion. The manga is based on the real blog of the author who fell in love with a fujoshi and decided to write a humorous account of the surprises awaiting him in such a relationship. That's the premise of the story, and everything that follows are the extremely humorous situations he finds himself in due to his girlfriend's hobby. It is really funny - if you enjoy other episodic gag manga, you will enjoy this one too.

Goes no where

While the concept is interesting the manga does absolutely nothing with it, except to use it for gags. The relationship between the two main characters is pretty much non existent, every chapter is jut the Female lead acting like a socially inept spaz and the Male lead getting weirded out about it. Their relationship doesn't progress much at all after the first few chapters and by the end of the series they are pretty much left off them same since like chapter 3 and it's not even clear they like each other all that much.

What really irked me about the main couple that it was entirely one sided. The female lead got whatever she wanted, The male lead would take considerable effort to understand her hobbies (at least when she wasn't forcing him to do what she wanted) and the female lead did absolutely nothing to understand the interests of the Male lead. The Male lead like Western Film and enjoyed reading about economics and other literature. Which she would instantly openly act disinterested in and would even some times call his interests boring. Not to mention she was entirely selfish in her indulgence of her interests to the point where the boyfriend came second to any of them.

So I was constantly asking my self why is the guy even bothering with this girl? She treats you like shit, She does nothing for you unless you do some thing for her, but still demands you do things for her with out her having to do things for you. She has zero interest in your personal life and she constantly makes you do things you don't wanna do and will stoop to emotional abuse to make you do them. Yea you too clearly "love" each other, if the mangaka didn't tell me how much you two loved each other I would have guessed you two where in a shitty and borderline abusive relationship?

A couple times the manga tries to make some scenarios for some decent drama and relationship progression but then they are either quickly resolved and forgotten or just plain forgotten to never lead to anything.

I seriously have to wonder if this manga got axed, because the majority of the last volume is taken up by two new characters that we've never seen before up until then, and we only get like a single meaningless chapter devoted to the Main Couple, it's puzzling.

in short don't bother with this Manga, at best it's mediocre and at it's worst it's just a lot of wasted potential.

Story and Characterization could use work

I found the idea promising enough, being a fellow fujoshi myself. However, I also found myself being more and more exasperated with Yuiko as I read on. Taiga has the patience of a saint! I certainly agree with the people who believe that Taiga deserved better. He's shown to be rather smart (psychology!) and (as I stated already) extremely patient. He's understanding of his girlfriend's hobbies and tries his best to indulge her. However, a relationship should be a two-way thing. It isn't only about what he's giving to her; he should be receiving something as well. Something about the way that she forcefully pushes him into situations without caring about his feelings doesn't sit right with me.

Furthermore, I found the side characters to be rather interesting, but underused. We never really got a conclusion to Masa-nee and her situation with her boyfriend, did we? Poor Sacchin never had much spotlight to begin with. Taiga also hinted at perhaps some further conflict with "Milano", something that could've been used, but was wasted. Many ideas could've been taken further, but weren't. Furthermore, the was a one-shot chapter, "My Boyfriend's a Geek", was a welcome change of pace, and I was largely disappointed that it wasn't continued or given an actual conclusion. Overall, there were a lot of loose ends.

On the positive side, I really like the art. Both the girls and the guys looked nice and each character could be distinguished from the others. Characters I like include the Seto siblings, Masa-nee, and Taiga.

It's *FULL* of BL themes which I often did not understand, but the chemistry between characters and overall atmosphere was awesome. The best friend and his sister gave lots of comic relief, and the main character and his girlfriend are just cute.

Whenever I got bored with the seme-uke jokes I just skipped a couple of pages, but overall I really enjoyed this manga for a couple of hours. Then again I am pretty tolerant (I don't read BL!).

(just a minor nitpick -- they kept dragging the boss in the plot every now and then, kept having his advances escalate and then end off the comic without finishing whatever he was starting whatsoever, meh)

If your a TRUE FUJOSHI then you should love this manga
the art is adorable <3 (thous who say other wise well everyone has their own style and it works for this manga so ;p)
I personally love Yuiko (female lead) she is so animated and always putting things in awkward thought lol Honestly i love the way she treats her bf just so cute and funny and he doesn't care really that she is a crazy (but i mean...he does look like a uke she's got that lol)
There really is no drama to speak of yet but to me that doesn't matter (i think the movie may show more of that but i've only seen the trailer so can't say for sure)
for me laughing and thinking fujoshi thoughts are the main thing here (can't wait until "Sebasu" gets into a totally awkward situation that he can't escape fufufufufu!!)

Scary thing is, I'm an even more hardcore fujoshi than the heroine. 8D Well, except I'm not blind and completely delusional (I'm only delusional on some levels~ Hee)... And I'm a total purist with my pairings. The comments at the end are amusing, too. "The red ones go 2x faster!" HAHA~ Oh god, that she stuck cream on his face and totally moe-fied their situation was hysterical. XDD <3

Ne~ I was laughing my ass off at the first volume. But the heroine got a bit irritating in the second. (Besides, her OTP is so cliche and mary-sue it's sickening) :T Plus, Sebas?!!! In a pairing!? ; v; OLD WRINKLY BUTLERS ARE NOT MOE. I mean, Sebastian Michaelis is freaking awesome.. He's like... Over a century old. But he looks like he's 24 so it's perfect. (Don't get me wrong, he's too perfect for my tastes. I adore Ciel much more.)

This isn't really a manga for hardcore shoujo fans, heh. (I mean, I read a heck load of shoujo, but I live for my BL.) The romance is a bit cute, but the heroine is very, /very/ selfish. It can be both irritating and endearing, methinks.

I liked the comedy of it, but if you're looking for more romance, this is not the manga for you! Honestly, I don't like the female lead. She's always going on and on about BL but never considering how her boyfriend feels. I'm still not sure if this is a purely comedy type manga or if there's ever gonna be some drama (boyfriend gets fed up, I'm hoping for that), so for now I'm holding on.

I like the art, so I give this 8/10.

Hmm... I'd give him a gold medal. I think(hope) the girl is smarter than she looks, and all the BL jokes like "Sebasu" are a way to loosen up the guy. But I still feel really sorry for him, cuz' if I went out with a girl like that - It'd be oneshot(tragic one).

Still, very entertaining... I'd like to read more.
