Love It

Watched the anime twice, read the manga twice.

Beelzebub is a great piece that incorporates a life of fighting and comedy, but also the value of friends and having a good time. It was absolutely hilarious, and Oga is a great lead that never disappoints. The others MC of this piece keep the story alive and fun.

Would definitely recommend for anyone who's looking for strength and comedy.

This is really a good manga.. I like that the characters have different personalities and they are really funny.. Even if some of the scene are stupid but I still laugh so hard.. I just can't stop.. There are even times that I am still laughing even the episodes already ended... also there are times when walking in the street I suddenly smile because I remember some of the scene of belzeebub.. xD I am just sad I already read and watched all.. I wish there are more.. ^^

I laughed... but eventually just gave up

This manga was the bomb for 2/3 of the way... and then I stopped reading for 2 weeks.... and forgot everything.....so I gave up on reading this.

Even though that's mostly my fault, a masterpiece would not be so easily forgotten. I remember the gags and jokes, but the plot had been forgotten. And anyways, the gags eventually became tiring as I spotted the same type on multiple occasions.

NONETHELESS, I recommend this to all who enjoyed stuff like Gintama or Angel Densetsu because this manga deserves all the love. It's pretty good---just wasn't quite my cup of tea.

I cant believe its over. I faithfully waited week by week for the last year for the updates and now they have finished. Really wish this would be licenced in English. Its only in Japanese and French, neither of which i understand. But the fun has gone out of my week now. Guess I will just have to reread it again.

What do you mean there's no story? What do you mean there's no adventure?

This manga is a blend of humor, action, adventure, b.s, your cat, your neighbor facial hair and a few expired ramen.

He level up just like any other (Hero?) main character, tons of crazy fights and there's a few chapter where they go on an adventure. The amount of humor and plot is just perfect. You get enough humor to Laugh your as- off and enough plot to continue reading it. Though the plot is not serious but it's a plot non the less. I've read some serious manga with plot that will make this manga look sane.

Why is that so bad just because it's not a battle manga?

I've just read the last chapter (226) from RHS, and, it bring back the humour that has been postpone by some battle. Come on, the mangaka put lots of effort to make some unique joke! And story goes pretty well too! IMO, this might be the second GTO, though, the protagonist can't be as bad ass as Onizuka.

Art is well-drawn, scanned clearly, and translate properly, as expect from RHS. I don't get it why people complain so much because it's not a battle manga.... The battles are like... a break beetween fun parts... This manga deserves more respect.

...now, have I?

To be precise this mange pretends to be a gag manga at the beginning. But after just a bit it turns into a it-couldn't-be-more-of-a battle manga. The story is sooo hey-look-it's-another-fighting-shounen! I'm sure there must be some book covering all the ingredients. How else could it be that you just need to read one to know all of them?

Good guy fights for his friends, his foster child, himself. Fighting fighting fighting, close to losing (almost dead, actually), and then oh-hey-surprising-power-up and win! And then? Yes! More fighting! In the process of which most of the beaten enemies become super-best-buddies with the mc, of course. And then, next super-bad-enemies appear and so on...

I really hate that most of these bs manga start out really funny and lure you to believe they could be... well, just something else... something less crappy.

So, don't be tricked, it is just another never ending dumb-as-fuck battle manga. Or, if you're just into that kind of... crap, here you go!

this is a comedy manga. Don't expect anything more. This isn't adventure nor even a battle manga. I should say this is a new hybrid gag manga. Pretty funny, in lots ways

well at least, you won't get bored of this series as you expect no further development

Comedy. This is what Beelzebub is honestly about. Its absurdity, the insanity--that is the point it presses on the most, and fortunately it has yet to fail to get its point across. I swear, every chapter makes you laugh out loud, even the more serious ones have something to smile about. When the day comes I can't utter a giggle after reading a chapter is the day this manga will end. It's the humor that keeps it fresh and exciting. 95% sure it would die without it.

The plot is slow and tedious. Don't get me wrong, it goes then stops. A few teases, but never enough to shift the story in a different direction. You can feel the build up with each arc though. With each arc he pulls the curtain back a little bit. It can be frustrating at times. You want more, but instead he gives us what feels like filler arcs (which really are more minor character/major character interaction/background arcs. So they're not USELESS just less main plot and more subplot). At the moment it feels pretty filler, but it's hilarious and I'm invested in these characters and "pairs" so I could care less.

Lastly are the characters. For a shounen, I think we have some pretty unique people here (who doesn't love baby Beel?). For once the females within this shounen are pretty badass. Not in a controlling, soft way, but in a physically agressive way. Aoi and Hilda--dayuuuum. These two have every male on their backs (NOT SEXUALLGOSH). And you also have a range of minor characters that grow more involved with the plot and Oga's adventures. They really start to grow on you. They're not overbearing but they're sassy enough to keep you awake.

The relationships between these characters is surprisingly strong--or at least between the ones that matter. Whenever a rare moment of emotion is seen, it feels genuine and never forced. That's another thing about this manga--it never feels forced. Everything is fluid, even if some things are INSANE. There's this great consistency.

Yes, this is a battle manga but there's less emphasis on "battle." Fighting is a better word. Tons of fighting, but no real battles. Oga isn't the type of guy to pound his feelings into someone nor does he care about someone else's feelings. He does follow under some lead shounen stereotypes but overall he's too much fun to hate. His DGAF personality is what makes him the most fun. He doesn't care if he beats or hugs the shit out of someone.

I highly suggest you read the first chapter before passing it by. If you dont' like the humor, then I'd highly suggest you pass this because Beelzebub is all about the funny.
