without any emotional attachment, Keima just go for it and very successful with it. witness the mastery of enamoring any females from the guy who don't even care.

~
but to witness such pure mastery, you must be patient until few arcs have ended. but don't worry, the excitement will continuously escalates. without fail.

I was originally a fan of the series, but in the end it has been continued past where it should have and it now has become pretty terrible.

I'm also disappointed that the main character never really evolved in the end. He seeks a boring life (solo fantasy video games), which he prefers over real life, no matter how thrilling his life actually is.

At first, Particularly, Romance in Shounen isn't a Major genre. some people would rather pick a shojou if they want a nice, good, sweet, romance manga. i've already read a bunch of shounen manga which contain a romance as a main genre, some popular shounen romance manga always pick a poor, hopeless, idiotic, pervert male protagonist, over that there is some manga which just sell a meaningless ecchi, maybe thats why some people pick romance shoujo over a shounen romance.

TBH i don't hate ecchi, if its appear not to much, its realy good and a plus point to make.. c'mon people! its shounen, the Fan Service is always, plus the sub genre like harem should have some "ecchi".. but i think, if its too much "the dish will be too salty". so thats why i dont realy like pervert/hopeless protagonist which always caught in some ecchi scenes with their harem..

I found The Protagonist in this TWGOK Series is realy UNIQUE, he isn't hopeless, he isn't dumb, he isn't pervert, and on top on that he is a GENIUS..

actualy, Genius Male Lead is mostly often found in Shojou manga, to think that we find a genius male lead in shounen romance its a rare..

And of course i couldn't get enough to think how brilliant the author is, tamiki wakaki sensei throw an outstanding fresh plot in every chapter, the plot always make me excited to read, and always makes me shouting "woah.. woah..." when i read a new realeased chapter..
i'm never get bored to read again and again..

some people throw a doubt in their comment, but 'til now i'm never see the doubt become real..
the author always exceed the expetation..

This is masterpiece, so i dont have any reason to not recommend you to read this manga..

Brilliant !!!!

this series have very high comedic value and moe characters. it is a refreshing take on the harem genre where the main character actually try to capture the girls' heart, not just sitting there and somehow girls fall into his lap. the character design is very cute especially when keima is in his 'god' mode. there is no gratuitous ecchi scene that will reduce the story's value (though i love ecchi). it is light hearted and will put a smile on your face, even with the 'heavier' arc. highly recommended. i think girls will love this simply because keima's conquering technique is just too amusing

the only reason i dont give it a ten is because it's my principle to never give anything full mark.

edit
im crying like a baby. the ending bring me to tears! to TEARS!!!! such a perfect good ending, i can never envision it. my OTP getting realised, im crying for happiness. and i just love the elaborate plot, i can see the mangaka take great care of everything and everything is resolved nicely. i take back my previous statement - this manga will receive the holy number 10.

"Once again, reality proves to be a shitty game" Keima Katsuragi, The World Only God Knows vol.1 pg.69 pnl.3

This phrase resumes the main character's philosophy. he is extremely smart, BUT could be clinically depressed xD
His ideal word, and ideal girls, exists only in gaming, probably by his own glorified notion of what it should be.
this is indeed a shitty world, most of us who can join this site on our idle time are lucky enough to NOT worry about what are we going to eat tomorrow, or with how many people i got to suck his thing to get the food. So we can tend to forget how hard things are for a LOT of people in this wide world.
He decided not to care about this shitty world and shut himself on gaming, but he was forced back to reality by a life or dead deal xD.
The plot has become thicker than I would have ever guessed at the beginning, and I have to tell you that I’m waiting eagerly for a new dose of his world every week.

The ending is kinda peter out somehow

I get that logic drive the ending. But the intensity is just watery. prolly because we invest too much in other girls, and when he choose that one (or anyone) it become kinda lost for us.

The mangaka should do one more chapter. An epilogue or something like that, with the usual intensity.

EDIT: Now that I have more time to think about it, this mangaka has something in common with Rowling. Both want to enforce their endings to readers, thus making readers' interest just peter out~ No wonder they cant make anything more worthwhile after that, since we really dont care about theirs work anymore.

Getting draggy EDIT: Holy crap that ending.

Liked this series at the start, enjoyed it through around 200 chapters before the story dragged longer and longer until I've put this series on hold for the past year or so checking in once in a while. Seems the time travelling arc is still going strong unfortunately. Why must so many shounen series drag on longer than it should? People say mangakas do it for the money, but if they're not under contractual obligation by their publishers to stretch a series to death then they should end it after a good run, then start a new series. If their manga was so well recieved as to run for so long anyways then I'm sure their fanbase will be happy with whatever new series they start and money will still come in. It feels as if many of these shounen mangakas fear their work is going to be a one trick pony so they have to make it last, but this just makes their image worse and supports any allegations/notions of them being such ponies.

I hope this current arc will be the last/second to last as Wakaki sensei has had more than enough time to make a complete and good series.

EDIT: And he ends it with a shitty ending. Of all the endings possible he chooses the semi-side character girl as the hero's chosen love interest? Hell even a harem ending would have been better. After all the crap he and the main goddesses girls went through he rejects them all and actively seeks to push them away from him. What a jerkass.

At first, I didn't know what to expect. The premise was different from all the romance mangas that I usually read (they're more "normal"). It was bothersome at first, what with all the short seemingly unrelated stories and what not, so I was thinking of dropping it. Thankfully, it starts making headway at around chapter 55 or so, and picks up the pace in 50 or so chapters.

The comedy surrounding the MC and his view of the world is giggle-inducing; his actions are well-within his character untill the very end. As for other characters, most of the main heroines are well presented and explained. In any case, everything up to the last big arc (chapter ~190) makes sense more or less and is very well worth a read.

The troubling part comes after that. Pacing is all over the place, stuff seems to be invented on the spot so that the story would make sense and the ending is horrible, done over 2 chapters. There's no proper closure for the parties involved, we just have to take it at face value that everything is okay. With how it was handled, it doesn't matter who the chosen girl is - it's just poor writing. Sadly the last arc+shoddy ending casts a big shadow over an otherwise well drawn and well written piece of work.

Beware the cliffhangers.

It is pretty tough to make a uniquely dysfunctional character nowadays, especially in manga where every other character is a freak but somehow Keima stands out as one in a class of its own. This series pretty much rides on his messed up way of life and how he refuses to deviate or apologize for it.

The stories have been carried solidly by him for well over a hundred chapters now and they are still going on strong. The story arcs have become longer and longer and with that comes more and more cliffhangers driving more than a few readers into rages and face palm moments. This has not stagnated the story though as a lot of plot development has been built at a steady pace as a result.
