A good Story

I havent read many of this mangaka's works but i gotta say this has gotta be one of her best works.

The other manga i read was ''Taboo'' and that dident really have a plot (although i did enjoy it) but this one was done goodly, if you ever want to read a love story with the devil involved with a human i suggest this one. Mayu managed to make this manga worth while without making Miu a mary sue (not much anyway.)

If you dont have any religon problems, want to see a hot devil, a cute romance story, and a happy ending then i suggest this manga for you.

I can tell who wrote this manga at a glance. The art style, the cliches, the absolutely degrading plot.... yup. It's Mayu sensei.

The main character here, like in every other one of her stories, has NO backbone. She protests whenever the devil touches her, "noo~ no~~~" but never actually tries to stop him from abusing her further. I'm sick of seeing this type of scenes. Not to mention the lack of research that went into this. Lucifer, Satan, god she mixed up all the terms and names!!!!

Simplistic and ridiculous, but a page-turner!

Oh gosh, this was so much an innocent-girl, dreamy romance despite the "wicked" Satan. I had fun!

Read it if you feel like peanuts and beer fluff shoujo instead of the typical candy and pop fluff shoujo--they're both cheap thrills, but one is salty and one is sweet. Don't look for meaningful character development, and enjoy the ride.

Research is a Good Thing

Shinjo Mayu has almost no knowledge of Christianity whatsoever. Most of the time the religious aspects seem like they're only there to make the story more "edgy." If the author had set out to make a parody of "dark" shoujo cliches (and I use the work "dark" liberally), then this would have been a masterpiece.

As for the actual story, both of the main characters are extremely bland. The heroine, Miu Sakurai, is weak-willed school girl with no desires other than to be liked by the men around her. The devil on the other hand is not the devil of Christian mythology, but rather a lecherous, emo pretty boy with black wings whose biblical origins serve mainly as a point of angst and unnecessary drama. I'm not even going to go into St. Michael the Archangel.

At times the plot swings around and introduces inexplicable, out-of-nowhere situations as if it knows it's a shoujo manga and wants to cram in every cliche in the book. The result is a badly-paced, awkward mess.

However, if you're looking for a manga that's so bad it's good, then this might be for you. Then again it also might be so bad it's horrible. If you're looking for a truly "edgy" series that explores the darkness of heaven and hell, I'd recommend Kaori Yuki's Angel Sanctuary.

This is the first and the best manga I've read by Shinjo Mayu (I'm not fond of smutty manga though). What i like the best the slow romance between the virgin and the Akuma. It got me keep reading despite some (kind of) rape scene.

Why is it a must for so many manga to have a half-rape, half-consented relation, where the one being taken says no when they actually want it but feel maybe shy or ashamed. Pfff, it's becoming boring to read. It would make it so much better to throw an OH YES in these and make it sexier instead of keeping these half-hearted,comitment-phobic dolls who seems to not be able to be ok with their sexual choice!! It is pissing me of, because it confuse the reader into not knowing if the plot is about rape, and therefore makes light of rape, which I am totally indignated about!
Sorry, just runting...

Oh my god this is most definately one of the worst mangas ever. The main characters are completely lame, and the manga does not actually get anywhere with this.. and do you honestly think getting laid (falling in love? please) with Satan is great? sigh.. oh my oh my, and I actually do like some of Shinjo Mayu's mangas but this was just.. lame. +I kinda thought satan was ugly wink

I find this story to be very unique. It isn't your typical shoujo manga though because well, you know why. Plus the story is kinda funny too. It might sound strange (for a christian like me) but I find the devil in this to be cool xD. I'll give it an 8/10 because the art is great (as always) and the characters are enjoyable to read.

If we ignore the laughable fact that both heaven and hell is fighting in a Japanese high school for the love of a random schoolgirl and just enjoy how hot Satan is, then this manga can be quite entertaining. I had fun reading it, yet even at the end I wished that random girl (Tsubasa) would have been less shallow.

I could have done without the smut, but I might not have read this story, for had the author not chosen and created it so. I think this story illustrates how you can still stay pure, not completely as pure as before, but if everything was pure, it would be too perfect, and there wouldn't be the balancing act that is humans.
I found myself questioning my morals, but one thing that has helped is the thoughts that I've written above, but also, love is a normal thing. Even if I've only repeated what I've learned from this series and other experiences in life, it's how it's perceived, meaning it's what you think of it that matters to you.
