Explores the different forms of love, not only romantic

It has a gentle, easygoing and calm tone throughout. I found it quite refreshing, without all the tropes commonly associated with BL, and I particularly liked how the relationships between the partners were still emphasised as being important in themselves without necessarily needing explicit romance.
This would be a pretty good introductory BL for someone I think, although any BL reader looking for something refreshing, light and non-cliche would probably enjoy this.

I disagree with some of these coments, for a shounen-ai there are quite a few romantic elements between the characters but some are just not as apparent as 'I love you!'
You can tell the characters have a deep bond with eachother and just because it doesn't say right out that they completely like eachother it still is rather noticeable.
The art is beautiful, the story is refreshing and one of a kind. I suggest you give it a go if you haven't already

I'm not much of a BL reader (yet), but I think this is a really refreshing read. It's different from the usual BL plots and the fantasy twist is it's selling point. It's not that heavy or serious but I found myself gripped by Alexi and Rael.
I'd have to agree with valkyrie_v though. I would have wanted to see more of how Alexi and Rael's relationship would develop. (Hence the rating)
Overall, it's a good read. \m/

This story has a very unique and interesting setting, and the characters are all very lovable. Pretty artwork, and an enjoyable read. Beautiful and thoughtful questions about relationships, culture, and love.

A charming story that explores the deeper connections of what it would be like to have a "predestined partner". It's light, nothing too deep to make you depressed, but it has its own moving story as well. I think that how this story isn't very heavy is perfect for this type of manga. It's very refreshing, and leaves you with a happy feeling. I don't need angst or enemies, betrayels or misunderstandings- the story really showed it's beauty in its complex simplicity. Ambivilent feelings, to be precise lol. Very different from the usual BL, their connection is something not explicitly shown but felt. They don't need any words to tell each other how much they care for each other- that's what I really liked about this. There have been only a few mangas that were able to "show" the connection instead of "telling". Their actions speak louder than words do. Unfortunately we are left to only imagine the developments of Real and Alexi's relationship on our own, as this series isn't devoted entirelly to them and is only 3 volumes.

It was a sweet manga but being categorized as BL, it came off as rather half-baked to me. Pretentious, even. While the concept is appealing, the recharging thing appears to me as nothing but a petty gimmick to make it seem Boys Love-ish (“two guys are kissing obviously they’re in wuv!!1!”) when in fact the involved characters’ feelings were not even further delved upon, leaving us to vague interpretations of what exactly the relationships here are. So right, actions do speak louder than words. I get that. However, the motives behind these actions - all the kissing from supplier to receiver and vice versa - do not seem to necessarily come in the form of romantic love, considering how a kiss on the lips is primarily treated as a means of life-support in the story. Never an act exclusive to lovers. The feelings could simply be platonic and that the relationships lean more towards friendship and dependency. For all we know, Rael and Alexi may end up as just heterosexual life partners like Gil and Floran while Alexi walks the same path as his dad. The manga makes you read between insubstantial lines, which is kind of frustrating when simple words of affirmation can be used.
I like it~

Good art, charming story. I just kind of sad when it ends without the mangaka explore deeper commitment of both Rael and Alexis. However, I enjoy reading it. Truly a different feel after so many similar BL themes and plots~
Its subtle, but in a nice way.

I don't think there needed to be an outright confession for this to be considered shounen ai. Alexi and Rael's feelings for each other are quite obvious by the end, and it was nice that the author used a more subtle style. A lot of different relationship dynamics were introduced to show the complexity of these supplier/receiver bonds. You really get the sense that it's just a completely different world where the usual affirmations of love are meaningless. I enjoyed reading this years ago, and it was still just as good reading it again. Also, Bikke's art style is one that I really like, and it certainly has improved since the time that this manga came out. I love the way that she draws her landscapes/architecture with as much detail as her characters, and I also love the choice of clothing for her characters. Her more recent works are gorgeous, and each of her manga have really unique stories so I recommend checking those out as well.

The summary sounds a little strange (and sexual), but the manga is actually very good. It's more about how important the people in a pair are to each other rather than a hardcore seme-uke yaoi (that my dirty mind immediately imagined), though you can see some shounen-ai in the manga if you want to. It's what I like to call "optional shounen-ai" - those who are clueless won't see it there since there is no declaration of love between the guys or anything more hands on than the necessary kisses, but those who know what to look for can see it and it's up to them (or the author) if they decide the guys are more than friends 😉 All in all, I can recommend this manga to everyone. It has a bit of drama, a bit of romance, sweetness and generally is a nice relaxing manga to read. *thumbs up*

The main premise of it isn't new in anyway but it's a lot more innocent and cute than your usual seme/uke.
That said, the fact you're just thrown into a world where people are paired up at a very early age means we don't really get much character development between the 2 protagonists, at least not in a strong way and it just felt somewhat boring to me, and even the fact it's a partnership between two guys which is supposedly rare, the way the whole thing is setup means it, well, doesn't really mean much and everyone seems not to mind anyway, it could have been between a guy and a girl and it really wouldn't have mattered much for part of the story.
That being said, after a few chapters, new characters are introduced with their own set of circumstances that have a lot more going on for them, and later on we also get more back story on the main characters, filling up that void the early chapters were missing.
So basically, I enjoyed mostly the second half, and the first half felt somewhat boring to me, but that was still a decent read and the better second half somewhat makes up for it.
