Hana Rocks

I totally love Hana. She's such a strong and down-to-earth character.
Her reaction to the bullying was just perfect! I was so proud of her.
I would have done the same thing. She's not gullible or naive like so many shoujo girls. She recognizes a trap when she sees it, and uses logic to deal with it. And she's funny as hell. I love her habit of climbing up a tree to sulk when she's in a bad mood. And muzuki would always come drag her back down. lol. It's so funny.

Mizuki is nice and gentlemenly in front of other ppl.
But he's himself in front of Hana: a normal, ill-tempered, ornery boy.
While everyone worships him, Hana merely sees him as an
ordinary person. I loved it when she called him a tasteless
idiot in front of all those girls (good thing he wsan't there to hear her).

a pleasant surprise

I thought I wouldn't like his manga and thought it'd be like other shoujo manga where the girl discovers she has a fiance, etc. But I was pleasantly surprised by the level-headed heroine (know when not to 'rock the boat' and when to put up a fight) , the enigmatic hero, the interesting side characters (I love her friends!), and the good pace of the plot. It gives off that fruits basket sort of feel- you know with the mysterious nature of Mizuki's family, Hana's dark-haired friend, Tsukiko (whom a lot of people are afraid of), and taking time to understand side characters and their motives.

Scans, TokyoPop, and the Raws

I read the raw end to end based on the recommendation of my friend. She loved the story as far as she could read it and wanted spoilers! So I reviewed the DGT scans in order to be able to give a good overview and there are some annoying flaws such as name mangling and wide gaping holes in the plot. It was a bit shocking. Main character's name is Kazura.

I may try to find a Tokyo Pop copy to see what that version is like. Story starts building to towards a conclusion around volume 8 or 9.
I found the whole series hilarious. I would recommend a read.

I don't know why some people that this manga was boring. I think it's a great manga that never bores you and keeps you entertaining. Most of the time is funny, but sometimes it's sad. The art is okay, not as bad as some people think it is <_<. Over all it's enjoyable and i love it! ^.^

It's Alright

I've only read up to chapter 9 so far, so it may get better, but as far as I've gotten it's been pretty average. I might like it more if the art had a bit more skill or finesse to it, but it's not terrible or anything. The plot has potential to go interesting places and the romance does too, but the author seems to be taking a while to get to the good stuff, mainly because once Hana starts to go to high school the romance and plot take their places on the back burner in favor of some typical high school drama and the protagonist hardly gets to see her "fiance" except at random encounters in the hallway and presumably later at home. It is entertaining enough, however, and I do enjoy the occasional humor and little hints that there is something more to the story than we're getting so far so I'll keep reading and hope it picks up soon.

Not really interesting

This manga feels like it's being rushed to the point that I feel bored reading it. There isn't alot of detail and the art appears amateur. There wasn't a lot of background/detail to give you a sense of the setting the scene was taking place in and the guy doesn't feel real at all. Plus the storyline was a little too similar to a manga I read a while ago. If you want to get straight to the point? Just read it if your bored and have nothing else to do.

I haven't read all the translation ones yet just the raw but I absolutely adore this manga! The girl is fierce and she dosen't back away from a fight ever. You get to witness the two main character's love first hand. It's so sweet!

Unfortunately, I read this manga right after completing a truly amazing one, so I'm not particularly inclined to be nice to it. The twists are interesting, but the main character - Hana - is particularly annoying. She's one of those people whose speech bubbles persistently take up a third of every panel, and she tends to yell a whole lot. She's not all that talented, of average intelligence, and she lacks that pride in applying herself that makes one respect a person. She also has golden hair, which is so completely unnecessary (not to mention so biologically impossible! Have you seriously ever seen a mixed-blood Asian with yellow hair? Gah.)

To sum it up, Hana is one of those shoujo heroines whose only good point is her fighting spirit. I'm not sure. I must also commend her on her handling of the bullies.

Mizuki, aside from his, uh, special power, is also a cliche - a bad-tempered tsundere good-looking rich boy with a heart of gold, long black bangs which he peers darkly out at you from under, jumps out from nowhere to save/misunderstand the heroine, a tragic and misunderstood past, lonely, family troubles, um, you say it, he's got it. I dropped the manga after about 10 chapters, but I bet he speaks great English.

His one saving point is his two-faced public mask, which I think is hilarious... and... and his two faced public mask. Have I mentioned that yet? Hana's friends are also pretty funny, but they don't show up nearly enough to save the story.

Finally, everyone says such terribly hammy things to each other, all the time! ;_; Sob.

This manga is really is funny and interesting. The plot set-up is not the most original, but the manga-ka adds new plot twists that make things much more interesting, even though I am not a fan of rabid fangirls as antagonists.
