Man, I wish I was as strong and charismatic as this girl. (Meaning Lena/ Ley) By simply being herself; the androgynous enigma Lena unwittingly draws all sorts of characters to herself, much like the way a high burning flame calls forth many moths. Lena's character; her enduring personality, her fortitude, earn people's respect, their admiration, and this is even before the whole "Child of Prophecy / Save the world" deal. Her silent and dismissing attitude can and is often mistaken for coldness, while we the readers know this to not be the case...Inside of this girl boils all sorts of crippling emotions, and with good reason. Manga characters have given up on life for lesser burdens; compared to the many that this engaging heroine has to bear. The imagery in the overall artwork is beautifully depicted and detailed. The men are absolute bishies. Lucien, Micheal even the villainous count is gorgeous *Insert drool here*. The plot is rich in it's own history, politics, warring tribes etc. And by the gods, I tell you everyone has an agenda, so there are enough side stories to shift the focus of off Ley from time to time. The action is thrilling and yes there is action, not simply limited to sword fights either. Ley is a total bad-ass with a sword, especially when she's provoked/pissed. So lets see...
☑Engaging plot-line
☑Breathtaking characters/ Bishies
☑Fulfilling action sequences/fights
Now, that only leaves a surprisingly no-nonsense, un-yielding, and determined heroine; predestined to be the catalyst at the center of it all....
You bet your ass Check.

Lena Ha has this gritty determination that most of her sex in manga/manhwa seldom possess. Admiration doesn't stem from her beauty and grace, though it's worth mentioning, but more of her humbling forbearance and daunting strength. Enjoy a roller-coaster ride as Lena searches for the truth and establshes who she really is.

A Potential Favorite

Really liked this story. It was hard for me to start it because it's just so dense but in the end I feel like I went on a long and rewarding journey with all its quirky characters.

With the best main points I can give, it's pretty heavily laden with war (inclusive of countless fights and killings, but not gory) with a medieval-ish time setting. There are quite a few characters and it can get a bit confusing if you're not on top of things. The mood is pretty dark during times of conflict but there's enough positive/comic relief to level it out a little - it is semi-realistic in showing elements of torture/consequences. However, the plot itself was pretty amazing, I was phenomenally surprised with how much things made sense. I really did not expect much from a seemingly simple story centered around a "prophecy" and fate. Also the romance is really subtle, I was waiting for it forever but it comes in very tiny gestures and mostly towards the end (so don't worry it's still there - it gets cut short though :\). And I did like how it ended even though it was rushed. Rather than disappointing me, it just made me sad that I had completed it. Last thing - The female lead was great and one of the best, as people have mentioned. Truly a strong character, one that I think should be an iconic hero of strength, skill and a determined/calm mentality - and I think it means a lot more that she's a girl and has androgynous beauty. She's also just plain bad-ass.

I consider this a potential classic because it was just so elaborate and unique. I recommend it if you're up for adventure and don't mind a lot of action. This is a quality gender-bender smile

I'm a sucker for gender bender and this one simply draws me into it. Ley is really beautiful (as woman and man lol) and I couldn't help feeling excited, wanting to know what's the progress. She started off alone and in no time her allies increased... they are attracted by her charisma.

I'm curious... how will the story end?

A good start to a very promising story. The plot is good and the characters are very deep and enjoyable to read about. I love the main lead, she is a very complex character, even if she isn't the most likable one around. Lena is somewhat cold as a result of her harsh life, and the results of a series of tradgedies send her almost over the edge and even more harsh than before.

Poor Lena, I really hope she becomes happier in later volumes, she really goes through a lot in the first one...

Ley is seriously badass, and actually a bit of the tsundere type. No sparkle-eyes or brimming tears here. I like that Lucian isn't the prince-charming kind of King -- he's possessive and aggressive. Michael is my favorite love interest, rather unorthodox. It would be similar to if Ageha was a love interest in Basara. Anyway, if you liked Legend of Nereid's more unpredictable formula, but also enjoyed Basara and Red River, I think you'd really like this one. So far, it's my favorite out of all four!

I hate the typical idiotic cry baby heroine that always needs to be saved by the man that she falls for at first sight im just sick of this kind of plot so this manga really is a life saver for me cuz i thought i will never get to read anything interesting with a girl as the main character (where all the cool girls gone!?) anyways i really love this manhwa its in my top 10!!. and by the way in this particular story i got a few things that i love combined: girl heroine+that kills+is in the center of an harem when the harem is not so abvious i mean theres the gender bender so everyone thinks she is a guy+the girl is not an easy one(in terms of love) and you dont hear her thinking "handsome" and then abviously blushing everytime a new bishi appears. go lena kill those bastards!!!!! accomplish your vengance!! and i vote for lucien as your partner!!!!

I often felt as if I would have skipped a page or panel in this manga, but NO, I haven't. You have to watch out a little because of the fast pace and sometimes you will even have to go back and look who that character was again.
It's annoying, but the story is really good and the characters awesome. (especially the herione).
So it's absolutely worth the trouble.

I love this manga especially the main character. To tell u the truth I hate the usual shouji characters like how they r so naive, dumb, weak, n they forgive ppl so easily. It's very annoying. Anyways, if u like Red River n Basara kindda mangas then I can assure u that u'll love this manga.

Much potential but ultimately mediocre. Worth the read for a badass female lead

I honestly fell in love with the female lead here. I found myself relating to her and above all, admiring her ruthless attitude, strength, and charisma, but heartbreakingly, the story lacked meaning and the pacing of the story was a bust. I read it all though. I was frustrated midway but kept at it till the end.

At the beginning it felt as if this was about her overcoming her fears, her anger towards her family, and about growing into a more appreciative person, but the story didn't fully explore this. the mangaka, at some point, began simply conveying the events, neglecting the portrayal of the relationships in the story and the main characters feelings and values. It started to feel very Anatolia Story-like, where the political scheme became the bulk of the story. This was pretty awful for the most part. My point is, although things were developing plot wise, all the meaningful aspects of the story just stopped being explored. It's disappointing since there were many developments that could've been covered. Especially the romance, which seemed more like a sub-plot. I don't want to sound whiny here but the mangaka started a romance, teased the readers, and never developed it. i have reason to complain.
