Eh, dropped it

Putting aside the fact that it's kinda creepy that we're supposed to accept a 25 year old wanting to date a 16/17 year old, there's another dude in her orphanage who kisses the female lead in her sleep. Dropped.

Shiharu, a high schooler who works at a daycare center, is asked to be a babysitter for a pair of twins by their uncle, Matsunaga. Though the request is sudden, Shiharu gladly agrees.

A slow burn romance with very wholesome and fluffy moments that will bring a smile to your face. At times, I could not help but laugh at how mischievous the twins, Aoi and Akane, were.

Especially when they would play "house." One of my favorite moments was when Aoi would pretend to be Matsunaga and drop dead while Akane would gossip like the women at the daycare center, saying things like, "did you hear about the couple that divorced" or " did you hear that the neighbor next door had a affair."

And then there was also Aoi promising that he would marry Shiharu when he grew up. (Later on in the sequel, I found out that he wouldn't even let Shiharu and Matsunage get married because he still had a crush on her!)

Shiharu and Matsunaga were adorable as well. Even though the romance was a typical "shoujo romance," it was funny watching them run around in circles trying to figure out their feelings for each other.

My only complaint would be the ending. There was a sudden timeskip to about 5-6 years in the future and the main couple was still not together until the very last chapter. However other than that, it was a very enjoyable read.

A great manga you need when the world gets tough

Positives:
- I'm a sucker for stories with realistic portrayals of family relationships and slow romance build up. And this story has both, which is a big plus for me.
- The twins!! Can't tell you how many times I scrunched up my face with hands over my heart barely trying to handle their cuteness. I absolutely loved their growth and relationship with one another, how they support and protect each other, how they fight over Shiharu sometimes, etc.

Negative:
- At one point I was ready to stop reading this manga entirely because I felt like the story dragged out for too long. It took me a few days to finish reading.

So, if you're looking for an uncomplicated story about adorable twins growing up, then go ahead and add this manga to your reading list. There's romance too, but it's not the main focus of the story.

I was shooketh when my man Seiji suddenly proposed to Shiharu, but their relationship overall was really wholesome so who am I to judge.

"Romance"

It was a slow build to them falling in love and honestly it felt rushed at the end. The thing that pisses me off the most though is all the unknown things that happened between this and the sequel. There's a time-skip and I was thinking "why didn't we see that!!!"
It's cute, but I wouldn't waste my time if you want a satisfying romance.
Fine for a slice of life type story not so great as a romance.

However I still don't think the ending was rushed. Of course I wanted to know more about several characters, but in that case, developing more would never end the story. It is a SoL after all. There are no arcs and enemies to defeat. It is about the life of a bunch of people, and
Iife doesn't really end. There is always something new to learn about people, and new experiences to go through.

Sadly, this is still a manga, and it should come to an end at some point.

Well, we are still getting a spin-off manga about the twins. I really felt attached to them, and to the other characters.
It is just a very bittersweet manga that mixes tragedy with hope. It made me cry on several occasions, and laugh my heart out on others.

It is not for you if you want a story about romance. Even less though if you enjoy explosive, melodramatic situations.
I am not criticizing you if you do, I am simply stating that this would not fit your expectations.

I feel like we need more manga like this. Manga that has slight romance, but also focuses on friendships and other aspects of life such as careers, studies, families etc. It isn't some ground-breaking, thought-provoking manga. It doesn't reflect all aspects from real life, no. It is far from flawless as well, but still. It is simply something made to make you smile and have hope and faith, as well as sympathize with characters and root for them.

If you do end up deciding to read it, then please don't just blindly judge it for not having romance.

P.S., if you want something similar, then read Gakuen Babysitters. Till now, it doesn't have any romance, which is great I think.

This is probably one of the best manga with little kids inside that I've ever read. I find the plot really warm and throughout the manga, you can see the kids growing up and learning things along the way. The twins are really cute and the main characters are sweet and funny. If I have to point out, the main plot is supposed to be centered on the twins and Shiharu's progress along the way, instead of Shiharu and Matsunaga. Their romance is just like a bonus kinda thing. I do hope there's a spin off with them getting married and all tho. Well if only. But nevertheless, I really enjoyed reading this!

I think the length of the manga was just right, gave us a chance to visit everyone connected to Aoi and Akane, I think it was a beautiful development between all the characters!

I remember reading up to chapter 28 many, many years ago and I stopped because it wasn't fully scanlated, its definitely been well worth the wait, I almost forgot I read it till I revisted an old note taking of mangas that I have read whether completed or still in the process of reading.

I can only imagine Aoi's expression that Shitaru has been taken hehe.

I really loved this manga, Thank you Kaede Kouchi and scanlation group/s <3

Guys... why so harsh ? It makes it seems like you've only read it for the romance... I think you've missed the main point of this serie.

Let's be honest : what kind of fool only read shoujo/josei for the romance ? Are you telling me you've never read Natsume Yuujinchou or Sakamichi no Apollon ? Or if you have, you didn't enjoy them ?? Are you kidding me ??

When I read shoujo and josei, especially when it's a slice of life, I don't expect romance. I expect heartwarming stories.
I love witnessing characters' growth thanks to love and friendship but the thing I find the most interesting is how easily those kind of mangas can make you feel something. There isn't any explosions, war, overpowered enemies who need to be defeated... it's just life. Sweet life.
And it's amazing how such simple stories can get you so emotional, and make you feel so warm inside.

Does Love So Life manage to do that ? Absolutely !!
The twins are such adorable creatures, the drawings are so simple yet so beautiful, and the characters are all so sweet... I don't know how many "Awwww~" moments I had.
It's true the ending felt a bit rushed but anyway it doesn't mean the romance was bad. I really enjoyed their fluffy relationship. It wasn't boring in the least. It was so pure, so innnocent... Moreover, I really appreciated the fact that it was slow-paced. That way, the characters really grew on me.
But what I liked the most in this manga were all the characters' interactions. Everyone was so kind and endearing I couldn't dislike anyone. The story was so peaceful and cute, I feel like I've cleansed my poor fujoshi's soul...

Ahem. Anyway it really is a wonderful manga. It's a must read imo, especially if you're a fluff lover like me.
So don't pass it up ! I promise you it worths your time (the guys who wrote harsh reviews were just frustrated because they needed more wink )
