i loved the love story between hakuron and kurumi, although i would have liked kurumi to be raped a little less...... Anyway, i'd have to disagree and say that i liked the plot for the most part. Though, I probably wouldn't have read it if i knew the ending was going to be so damn depressing.

this story like all other shinjo mayu manga has a good story but she can't make the magic last. Kurumi is so annoying! Hakuron is a jerk and i find the ending fitting. It irritates me just thinking of how much Kurumi will go through for "love" and how much pain Hakuron put her through

Rape DOES NOT = Love

For real... is this story meant for an audience of women?
As a woman, nothing in this appeals to me. The women are all either manipulative bi-atches or submissive wussies.
All the romance is defined by sex...
And almost all the sex is coerced... what the hell?
Since when is rape romantic?
I'm all for a little guilty pleasure, but outright rape and brutalization is not my idea of pleasure.
Why is Kurumi such a push-over? Some heroine...
She has no backbones, no will of her own.
Why does Hakuron love her so much? I don't get it. I REALLY don't.
And speaking of Hakuron... what a jerk! Ewwww... he's nothing but a cute face with a bad attitude. Son-of-a-B kidnaps the woman he loves, humiliates her, cheats on her, gives her away to his buddy (to "protect her") and rapes her so badly she could barely stand.
And yet she STILL LOVES HIM, willingly becomes his mistress after a pathetic show of resistance...pfff

uh... so yea... I don't like this manga...

Spoiler:
I heard they both die at the end...
tsk...a fitting end, I'd say.

I haven't read enough to give a proper rating, but I will say this is one strange and slightly disturbing manga. Hakuron's got a twisted personality and sense of love and er... ambition and Kurumi seems to be tottering around him, unable to resist such a strange set of events. It's just... way too bizarre to believe. I certainly don't think this manga is for me, anyhow.

I'll be honest...I like seeing a tough guy getting softer but keeping his dominance. It's a type of character I like in manga's...sue me. But this manga had some really interesting features - that rape part...ok, I did not understand that and yeah it was a bit....unusual. It's probably more close to reality actually because thinking you can change one guy's mind set when he had such unhealthy environment is probably wrong. But that's reality and this is shoujo/smut manga. So why in the god's name he rape's her and how can she even become addicted to his body? Stockholm syndrome or something? Let's say that was the point...but even if that was the point, they could have developed differently their relationship in the first place and after all that raping...why did he have to die on their wedding day? Come on...that was just depressing. I hated the ending. Overall, I like the idea and manga is not all so bad even if they decided to mix too many unrealistic things (like her suddenly flying to Hong Kong and she helping him that easily, in reality he would rape her and then kill her right there probably) and realistic things (like inability to change his way of thinking and the he is living, killing etc.)...they got lost there a bit...ending like that really has no place in a manga where you are turning a hard core mafia boss into a lover boy...that ending was a tragedy...I really didn't like it.
I give manga 8 because until that ending came along, the things were tolerable...

At first, I thought I wouldn't like Haou Airen. Before I even started reading, I knew it was going to be smut heavy. I'm used to romance that's more tender, fluffly, heart-warming and cute. But I'm so glad I gave Haou Airen another chance. I mean the plot and character development are really great. I think the author wanted to create a character (Hakuron) that readers will really hate at first, but warm up to later on in the series. If you look back at Hakuron's past, it's easy to understand why he was so cold and brutal. I mean, hisown father killed his mother and tried to kill him as well. Then he was adopted and brought up in a violent environment. Even so, he still has a heart and sincerely loves Kurumi despite all his shortcomings.

Like, wtf??
I've given manga down to 4's, but nothing was bad enough to give a 1 to until now. and i've really brought up my standards since when i first started. like, fail much?
umm... does this story even have a plot? does rape, rape, rape, raped by another person, rape, rape, raped by other dude, rape, etc even count as a plot?
hello, Shinjo Mayu? I understand you have lots of fans and all, but that doesn't mean you can go around creating cra* for us to read, thanls.

There's nothing than sex. And one more fell-in-love-with-the-forceful-rapist. I don't know but if my mind is right, Shinjo Mayu is sex addict. I've read some of her works and always ended up half way. When I read this manga review, I thought it would be interesting since it tells about yakuza life and takes the background in Hongkong. Then I regret it, this story is full of things about sex too.

Always having sex and having some unimportant problems. Okay, the main guy is cool and good-looking, but still as the story went, it annoyed me. The ending, it sucks! After 9 volumes waiting for what-the-ending-would-be-like, and the death of the guy was the answer. Oh yeah, he deserved it.

Don't read this. It was such a big waste time to read this one. There are still much better mangas.
