Description
Brilliant and overachieving, Misaki Ayuzawa is the President of the Student Council at Seika High School, formerly a boys' school. Unfortunately, most of the students are still male and stuck in their slovenly habits, so man-hating Misaki really socks it to 'em in an attempt to make the school presentable to attract more female students. But what will she do when the sexiest boy in school finds out that after school, Misaki works in a maid cafe.

Story Development
by FelisSylvestris

At first, It think the story development wasn't so good because of Misaki's denseness. But after chapter 15 to now, the story becomes more interesting and the author adds some more thriller in the manga like Usui's mysterious past and their romance development. i also want to say that the plot is very good and it's very rare to see the story veering.
Some people say that the story is a cliche one but I think it's more than a cliche story, not in a particular shoujo way. (Well, we'll wait to see more chapters furthermore).

The first time I read it, I saw it as interesting. But then after awhile I saw no plot development and dropped it for like a year. I then decided to began reading it again and saw subtle but major plot developments around Ch 20+ (in terms of relationship). Though Misaki is still dense, I mainly enjoy reading this manga now because of Usui. Though he is possessive to the point that it's borderline creepy/annoying, I see something mysterious about his background which makes me want to read more. I also enjoy seeing him drop his cool facade, which I found hilarious and adorable. But the manga it has some cliches that seem overused, I was able to get past it by skipping the chapters.

Cliched as hell but...I can't help liking it!

Since I read it when craving the classic cliches of a shoujo manga, I was happy. Before that, I'd been catching up with the latter chapters of the shounen series (Bleach, One Piece, TRC, xxxHolic, etc) so Kaichou wa maid-sama was a light, sweet read.
Oh, and I maybe biased because of Usui (*drools*). XD
The concept wasn't soo original but the characters were all so loveable (I like the maid cafe's manager...she's so sweet!) so I was just hooked. Misaki was the strong, dense type; Usui was...annoyingly Usui (he looks so hot...with glasses...ahh..) and the storyline wasn't soo great...but then again, what is shoujo without its cliches??
I love it when Usui teases Misaki endlessly..aww..they're just too cute!
And chapter 32 is my favorite at the moment...hehe.
Read it if you're bored...no too great but...Usui..
I think everyone gets my point. >.<

the heroine is too naive and clueless. I mean, Usui have been tailing for about 23 chapters and she doesn't have a single clue why?
Anyway... at last a development had been placed there. Its already too boring to continue if its stays like that and be like Special A or sumthin'

Good, but gets cliched later on

I like it but at the same time, the deeper it goes the more cliched it seems with random bishounens popping out and having interest in Misaki just to make Usui jealous or angry, rinse and repeat.

It really gets too repetitive, so I think the author should stop using this overused plot. I always hated love triangles (be it Girl/guy/girl or gyu/girl/guy) or harems, so I really hope the author would just focus on the main couple (as they are awesome) without trying to force more bishounens down our throats just because she is running out of ideas.

Romance progression is extremely slow. Fault lies on Misaki on this one. She is pretty dumb for such a strong girl. But I would choose slow to the extreme over rushed, so I am all right with it. I just wish that the author would cut down with the bishies popping out lately, its really too repetitive.

I love this series! Absolute favorite! When it comes to stores in English I am so buying them, no matter the price! That said...I understand where the critics of the series are coming from. The plot is a bit repeated, but I forgive it because I crack up every time xD

For those who are frustrated...eventually slow progress is made. Slowly but surely...have patience. =) Every manga has its quirks. And for those who say the plot isn't going anywhere, I think there is a deeper plot in store, if the subtle hints are any indictation. However, the pace is painfully slow, so once again I beg that you have patience. If you read it all the way through instead of stopping after a few chapters you might see my point.

Spoiler (highlight to view)
By the way: Chapter 32......xDD fans of Kaichou wa Maid-Sama must read! Best chapter ever! ...Kind of a spoiler but not really, as that is all I'm saying ;)

At first I was only reading it because I was bored and it was the first thing I laid my eyes on. I thought it was boring and it really kind of made me mad with the whole 'yeah I'm a feminist and I am working towards womens rights in my school but I am somehow forced into this degrading job as a maid/waitress type thing' but for some reason I just had to keep reading it. It might be because I enjoy mangas about strong girls who dont always go to the guy for help because they cant do anything for themself. It's good. I like it how so far there isn't all this drama about the guy straying from the girl or other girls trying to get the guy. I like it how he knows what he wants and in his eyes there is nothing else. I dont know why but I hate guy/girl/girl love triangles.

At first yes it is great, the art is nice, but after reading many chapter, i think it didn't to addictive, and somehow boring.
The storyline keep repeated about how the man become a prince to help the girl..

Well, i'll keep reading it for now, i hope it will be interesting in the next chapter.. (/-_-)/(/-_-)/

I dunno if it's only me but isn't it that after the weak and crybaby heroines , now we have a trend for the ones that are strong but super dense...

Overall what we have here we already saw in many more titles..yes IT IS funny and interesting, but without a solid plot development just how long will it last..?

At first,it wasn't as good as i thought it would be.It was just light-hearted and full of comedy. But over-time,I started liking the flow and turns out its gonna be one of my favorite mangas.I like the way Usui gets jealous but Misaki is just too dense to know its about her >.<! I also like the fact that she works at a Cafe!~
So for this manga,i give it a 10/10.
