Despite the cover looking beautiful, the art isn't that great. The plot is just slow and irritating. There's a whole lot arguing and whining and crying. Plus it's overly political..in a very shallow and exaggerated kind of way.
Just one big, annoying sob-fest!
I don't recommended wasting your time on this one.

this manhwa will definitely get you hooked. the drawings are amazing. i've been keeping up with it but honestly, just as someone else said, it seems to just be dragging on now. i'm going to continue reading because i want my damned happy ending.

Goong was the first manhwa that I've started reading, and it made me fall in love with the Korean comic industry. I think Goong mixes a show of great images, really detailed and beautyfull, a story with great plotline of royal intrigue and a very unique humour that balances a sad romance between a prince and a princess bounded by a marriage they both had a hard time getting used to.
You can see clearly the authour's hard work, both in exploring the late korean traditions and in creating the characters. Which, by the way, show reactions of real people in a tough situation, and they don't act all dreamy over nothing, nor they change over night. It's all well developed in a good process, and you can go along with it without even noticing, feeling with the series revolt and hapyness through the characters decisions and actions all the time.
I really recommend it for the ones that like dense plots to background a touching love story. 'Cause you'll feel touched like I did.

This manga is one of the best Shoujo mangas out there. The plot is good, the characters are awsome. The drawing style is different but nice. The manga just keeps getting better and better with every chapter. I can't wait for the next chapter.

The best thing about this manhwa is the plot. It's such a great story. Slightly slow sometimes, but those times pass quickly with each page. I enjoy this manhwa because of the characters and how the story progresses nicely. Sometimes it's confusing though with all the specific names for each social standing, but other than that, it's excellent.

this is one of the best manhwa i've ever read!!! the possible story of a korean monarch is very interesting! plus, this manhwa also gives a deeper insight into the royal korean customs and traditions. a definite must read!
