Awesome Manga

The heroine is great. I love the way she behaves. Her personality is so down-to-earth and strong. I love this kind of heroine. She 's not weak and stupid or violent and rough... Her strength comes from within. The mangaka really developed her character well.

Spoiler (highlight to view)
The ending was GREAT! It was a HAPPY ENDING for all. I am soooo satisfied. So many mangas these days have crappy, sad endings so it is actually refreshing to read something like this that actually has a happy ending. I love it.

Definitely one of the best shoujo manga!

I was just randomly picking a manga to read, then I realized that this is one of the best one ever. It's a manga that encourage people to never give up, no matter what obstacles they're facing in their life. I love all the characters, Keito, Kouichi, Momiji, Rei... they are truly sweet despite coming from different backgrounds. I love the emotions built, although it's rather slow-paced, but it's gradually moving steadily. Best of all, I love the ending, it's so perfect I can't think of a better one. Oh, and if you care for artwork, this manga's artwork is also a 10/10 smile

Cat Streets > Hana Yori Dango

Cat streets is something that touches on the deep side, with a character trying to overcome a fear as she tries to regain her love of acting. Hana Yori Dango is something that touches on a dramatic love story, and if you like a straight up shoujo manga, Hana Yori Dango is for you. Both mangas are great, but I prefer Cat streets over Hana Yori Dango simply because all characters are lovable and sympathetic, whereas Hana Yori Dango has obnoxious people as a protagonist (even though it makes you wanting more, which is why it's the first manga where I have read more than 100+ chapters). I have stopped reading Hana Yori Dango when I read chapter 206 for some reason. Maybe it's because I'm sick of both protagonist, and maybe it's because it's really obvious what's gonna happen next, but I know if Cat Streets has more than 100 chapters in the future, I'm not gonna drop it like this because the characters, like I said before, are more lovable.

Better than Hana Yori Dango... Really Good!!

A really good story! A very solid A from me. Another person complain about how it kinda dry in the middle but not for me. I read it on one sit. From the afternoon to midnight. From chapter 1 straight to chapter 20 (which is the latest release I found). Eventhough I have homework, I just cannot stop reading it. Tensions are well maintained. A very very good story and I really mean it. Totally can relate to many of the stories in here! Highly recommended though art is not according to what I like. Oh by the way, you think Hana Yori Dango is Kamio sensei's masterpiece? You'll think twice

super addictive from the beginning to near the middle.
died down for awhile.
then it went back up after 2 chaps or so. (its standard, i am saying). As it wasn't able to keep my interest for the whole time, i am not giving it a higher score. The art is applausable and pretty, imo.
i would've liked there to b more romance but the drama was intriguing so i felt okay with it.
also, the way the characters grow up tugged at my heart - nice storytelling. The pairing? I love it - supported them all along...although i found myself slightly disappointed that the other guy didn't put up a bigger fight...
i would recommend ppl to read this.
it gives off a special flavour i guess.

love this manga!currently at chapter 19.so i'm rooting for the computer nerd Koichi!
aside from that, the story has a really nice sweet plot, you know those slice of life kinda plots...something that we can kind of relate to unlike typical shoujo manga these days,Cat Street is definitely worth reading.

More Than Your Average Shoujo-Romance

I see people saying "It's no HYD, but it's good", but I honestly prefer Cat Street. Cat Street deals with a girl who can't get ant lower in the social department, and it's really easy to understand her for the most part.

Spoiler (highlight to view)
People in her situation would either lock themselves up in their room until they were sure nobody could recognize them, or go out and face the world with more determination, but the character did exactally what kind of thing somebody with her personality would do, and she evolves for the better, though not past the realistic point, which is what makes it the great manga it is!

I fell in love with this manga from the start. It's a must read and an instant classic!

Of course its not hyd no no but I love the slow subtlety of this manga. Each scene has been drawn and thought out with a lovely care, each character has been paced and well developed and the story is beautiful, learning to accept and over come your faults enabling yourself to let people in and such, I could go on about this manga but I won't read it and look closely at its beauty and lovely slow pacing.

To start out, the summary makes it seem like it focuses on Keito, her acting and "love" but it's really nothing like that. For one thing, Taiyou disappears early on and she moves on. And it barely dabs in her acting. It's more a story of healing and friendship. Started out a little slow for me but I'm really enjoying the later chapters. I really got into it the further I read. I really like how the four of them have such a strong friendship. Keito definitely has some character depth considering what a broken, antisocial person she was in the beginning, only going through the motions of life and spending most of her time in her room. She is weepy at first but she's no longer a weak girl when she takes revenge in a later chapter. Momiji didn't seem like much to me but her character is explored further in the newer chapters when she's bullied because of the costume she wore. I like the computer nerd, Kouichi, a lot, even though it was weird he liked his sister so he acted like he hated her. Rei I didn't like at first, being a playboy, but after he got mad for Momiji I liked him a bit more. This series has some interesting characters, all "stray cats" as Rei says. It's not big on story and plot, true, but its more into character development.
