This is a tricky one. It takes the art of One Piece and makes it look far better than the original (atleast I can stand it more). It takes the good ole` "we're a group of friends fighting together" and makes the guild feel so alive. It takes the concept of the kid searching for his parent/foster parent-that-taught-him-teh-00ber-superpowah (nonetheless a DRAGON) and turns it into something that makes you yell at Shounen Jump for not releasing a daily issue. And you can never have enough wacky characters.
I don't care if it has nothing original. But that's what makes a great manga: make you feel like reading a shounen for the first time.

I am not denying in any fact that this manga bears tons of similarities with other shonen mangas, but i think this manga delivers on those similar fronts better than most of the others. I'm not being biased but out of all the shonen i've read, this is definitely the best. It has action, values, fan service and humor, and packs it all up in a refreshingly new package centralized in magic. A definite must read for shonen lovers, who love the humor of one piece and miss the humor of naruto.
It's one of those manga you read for fun and not really seriously.
That's not necessarily a bad thing. It does a good job of entertaining the reader (well I guess that actually depends on the reader). You should probably keep in mind that this manga targets younger boys, so the humor is what you'd imagine considering the target age.

i started reading it this afternoon...i read 10+ chapters but i think this manga is rather pointless,shallow,cliched! and ridiculous when i comes to action....One Piece also gives me an impression many times that it's going way overboard with the way it handles imagination and the characters end up looking ridiculous sometimes
i don't have anything against it...it's just that i don't find the point...if someone think i should continue reading it message me a valid reason...i can't find a reason after 10 chapters

I've read that Eiichiro Oda and Hiro Mashima are friends and once worked as assistant for a famous mangaka (Nobuhiro Watsuki, if I'm not mistaken). So, probably they influence each other. Though, I admit Rave's artwork was less similar than OP. Still, as Rindtron said, OP is OP, FT is FT. Each has their own unique points.
Fairy Tail is a nice story. I like it better than Rave, and I'm so glad it's already licensed in my country.

Wow, I had no expectations before reading this title but now I understand its popularity.
Yes it's great and yes it actually is really funny too. This and Mx0 are the best manga dealing with mages imo. The plot is moving slowly but i'm sure it will "Rock Our Socks Off" when we get to the real meat.

Although this series reminds me of One Piece a bit it's a really great and original series. I read the first chapter and found myself addicted to it! >.<

this manga have a great start =] and is nothing like one piece even though ...i have to admid the art is quiet simmilar .......but as the story havent progress much due to the manga is this new =] but i'm sure it gonna be great as the thing goes.....
This manga is excellent the artwork is great and the story line is an excellent adventure to read that keeps you wanting more and more.
