After watching about 10 episodes of the anime, i went in expecting to hate this manga. Came out loving it, 250 chapters later. After various personality changes, it's much more enjoyable to read. The only thing that puts me of a tad is some of the the overdone fanservice on the covers.

Very brutal and gory but very fast paced, action packed and exciting!! The plot is so unpredictable and so are the characters! You would have them from the evillest to the most admirable ones..and they could die off anytime so don't get too attached!!

Artwork is very cool and the romance is just moving!! I really love this manga!!(well the recent ones were not so endearing because my favorite character is absent at the moment, he will come back right?)

Alright so I really would have liked this (and maybe I still will Im not that far along) but what really PISSES ME OFF and takes away a lot from the enjoyment is the way the mangaka deals with women. THERES TITS EVERYWHERE. really, everywhere. and thats all the male characters (except maybe the best freind) think about. sex and raping girls. and obligatory female with big tits#1 gets almost raped ALL THE TIME. what the fuck? I get that this is written for teenage boys but jesus they can get bad porn for free on the internet. as a girl I have to deal with a lot of sexism (and no Im actually not a bearded feminist) and you just get to accept that there will ALWAYS be a lot of fanservice/tits/yuri-ness/ecchi in mangas and animes but dammit. this is really off setting for straight girls. you guys dont want to see the dingdongs of your fellow men displayed solely for the gratification of us girls right? And it would even be 'alright' if there was ecchi if there was any RELEVANT reason for it. you know, if it furthered the story. but nope. blondie just gets pawed, squeezed and humped because its hot to see her nasty-ass sweaty titties bounce.

sooo for someone who has read further than me (ch.36) does it get better or worse?

The 'other world' aspect of this manga piqued my interest, and I was intent on following through the story to get a better understanding of the ideas behind Gantz. But I really couldn't continue reading after 10 or 20 chapters... What's up with the excessive amounts of vomit and gore, and the objectification of women?! :< I think the manga would have been much better without all these things.

It's really addictive. I read the first 16 volumes in 2 days. It has everything -character development, awsome fights, nice nudity. I highly recomend it.

man oh man, the beginning of the manga was just a freakin roller coaster ride, and then these fukn UFOS had to show up and mess up the entire plot line. Damn I hate how such a god like manga can go to sht after a few years. Gantz is still a decent read, but hopefully the author decides to end it sometime soon and not milk it like another manga we know cough "berzerk"cough

Good concept. Bad plot.
It's like one of those movies that couldve done so much better with an actual screenplay (plot).

well, as many people have said, it's very gorey, lots of nudity and sex, and the art is very good. it is fairy repetitive, and i cant see how it's ever gonna end, but i like it enough so far. story isnt too deep, at all, with probably the "will to survive" being the only theme and focal point in the entire series. from here, it's a bit of a spoiler, and i dunno how to do the special spoiler thing, so if you're reading, dont read this anymore


since the whole revival thing is brought into play, i really started to like it cause there were alot of surprises in character deaths that i didnt want or expect to die. it makes the whole thing kinda cheap, and really makes me glad that people are scanlating since the writers could make so much money just stringing it out for all the people who would have been buying otherwise.
