statisfying ending

one of the few manga that actually has good ending, I am often frustrated by how author seems to have problem with ending.

I actually prefer a short battle scene and more story,so this is actually perfect.
those that have battle scene goes on for chapter making me begging it to quickly finish and get on with the story is tiring me and making me lazy to read.

A great Shounen

It was a wonderful read, a very long one too. The manga is quite slow paced. I find it boring from time to time, but nevertheless, it all serves as a good build up to a great climax and a decent ending. I thought the ending could've been a bit more grand, but it was still pretty good, no complain about that. The characters development was decent, not so much the main characters though. The romance was the initial reason why i read this manga, and i have to say, after the first 100 chapters, i was quite frustrated since there was no romance development at all. Now, after over 200 chapters, the romance between the main characters started to pick up the pace a bit. It is one of the manga's main theme, but for many reasons, it feels more like a bonus. It developed very slowly, but it was definitely well developed and believable. The actions were pretty good too. I'm sure glad it didn't drag on forever like bleach or naruto. I guess this is probably one of the best "typical shounen" out there.

Great story, bad battle scene

Overall, Rave have a great plot. When I discovered the meaning of the scattered puzzled and traps that showed up in the earlier chapters, I even felt like I've been struck by lightning. This manga make you felt like you know the plot, but you'll be amazed by the really well and unpredictable planed story line. The only downside that make this manga less enjoyable are the battle scene. In the earlier chapters, it is good. But as the story progress, the battle became annoying (sometimes a battle against boss can be finished by only one swing of sword). Overall, the story is really epic except the annoying battle.

This is a very fun read. I really like Mashima's artwork. Fight scenes are awesome. The universe created is over the top and done very well. Very original Manga (can't understand how people say this is a copy of DBZ). The story does start out weak, but does pick up and get much better. Same thing with with the art. Pick this one if your a fantasy or action reader.

Made Me Cry...

This was a really nice manga, one of the few Shounen, if any, that I actually stayed up all night to read. Scratch that, read whenever possible WITHIN my school time.

The beginning, as most manga, isn't heart-racing, but rather a bit curious. You would generally read into it more, wondering who this "old guy" is and such. Rave does, I'll admit, take some time to really get pumping; but once it does, you might as well say goodbye to your social life.

The characters are basically what you'd expect, at the beginning, of any Shounen manga. But what I like about Rave is that, this all changes once you get to the midway point.
You like the side characters.
You love the enemies.
You ADORE the main characters.

Now, I never cry when watching anime or reading manga with the exception of two pieces.
One being Clannad, and the other being this.

The deaths were so heartbreaking that I wanted to curl up into my bed and give up on humanity.
I didn't even realize I was crying, I was just tearing up when

Seighart died, and you realized that he was the skeleton you saw earlier that was protecting Resha Valentine's grave.

I really recommend this manga for anyone that's beginning the transition from shoujo to shounen. As well as for anyone who's looking for a good pulse-racing and heart-tugging tale.

The ending, though, is a main highlight of the story. Most shounen have a tendency to...*cough cough* end abruptly and make you want to bang your head in disbelief because you didn't realize it was over until the first comment you see is: "I CAN'T BELIEVE IT ENDED!"
But Rave was definitely one of the best concluded Shounen manga that I've read, and I've several.
It' ends all the loose ends you could conjure up. Closes all wounds.

Makes you miss Seighart even more, and want to see his wonderful face ;A;
. And, the best part for me, is that the small side-omake actually coincides with the real story at the end, closing with a funny short.

So, in conclusion, I highly recommend this manga. Hiro Mashima really did his best here, and I hope he continues in Fairy Tail, another great piece by him.

It's a really good series, one of my favorite actally. I love the characters, the plot, the ending, etc. The only problem is that it's really kind of naive and too light-hearted. The heros are smarter than the villains most of the time, so it doesn't really seem dramatic when they win. But that's really the only problem for me. It's a very good story overall.

I didnt like the anime at all!

the manga has it points when I hate it. but sinces its a manga you can just turn the page haha

I really like how the plot has turned out and the art isnt bad. its pretty decent actually. its thorough.

Ares6 is an idiot. DBZ is the ugliest stupidest thing I have ever seen. right next to Deathnote. but thats just my opinion.

very satisfying ending

lets be honest this manga doesn't have the best structure nor the best character development and it does get annoying at some point due to too much emphasis on friendship. (though not to the extent of yugioh)
this manga redeems itself with a spectacular ending which is pretty satisfying. The art is pretty good and clear.
this manga is not the best manga, it drags, lacks in some areas but if you get through it the ending almost justifies the means.
it very satisfying

Quite an emotional manga

For readers that wants a shonen with a touch of fantasy, you come to the right manga page.

Personally I love the manga. At the beginning, it is quite bumpy but this is Hiro Mashima's first manga so I can't blame him for a shaky start. But the story does grow and the adventures are filled with hilarious tales and wonderful character development and relationship.

Later on the story, there are several points where it gets dramatic. Since I'm an emotional person, I have cry on those occassions.

But I see some plotholes in this manga, but they're quite minor in my opinion. Though there is one plot hole that bothers me.

I would rate this manga 7/10, it gets a 8.5 since it was the mangaka first attempt.
