Description
From VIZ: In the not too distant future, mankind battles over O-Parts, relics from an ancient civilization. It takes a special kind of person to unlock the full potential of these remnants from the past, and a unique breed of humans known as O.P.T.s (or O-Parts Tacticians) become a force to be reckoned with. Unfortunately, O-Parts can be used for good or evil purposes.
Jio is a young boy with a tragic past who only trusts one thing in the world: money. Little does he suspect that he is actually a very powerful O.P.T., and inside him sleeps a demon of incredible ferocity. He meets up with a girl named Ruby, and together they decide to embark on a dangerous quest to discover as many O-Parts as they can. Will Jio help Ruby realize her dream of becoming a world famous treasure hunter? More importantly, will Ruby help Jio realize his dream of--world domination?!
What the fuck is with the ending?!?!? How could such an amazing manga have such a shitty ending?!?!?!? I want to kick the writer!!! So much potential went flush down the drain... I would read it and just skip the last chapter if you've never read it. I would be so much happier if I didn't read the ending!
And wtf does naruto have to do with this manga?!?!? Naruto is the most boring and uneventful manga ever....yawn...i am bored just talking about it....
I want the author to redo the ending. If his brother really is the author of naruto like I heard then he should redo to ending and that would make this better than Naruto! This ending is an ending that pisses you off makes you angry and sad. No good emotions at all! It makes you tell everybody to NOT even try to read the manga. And what pissed me off even more is that those two douche bags ball and mei my least favorite characters survive! WTF IS WITH THAT?! But seriously, author of this manga....WTF WERE YOU ON WHEN YOU WROTE THE ENDING?!
It still beats the shit out of Naruto...but the ending....-_-
Let's start at the beginning. The Very first chapter of this manga was a bit of a put off because the structure of the chapter itself was stereotypical and milked to death. It does fairly well at introducing the manga but anyone who is looking for a good manga by randomly sampling is going to be put off. The story progression is fairly linear with mid length arcs but with not much in terms of the plot. The character growth is constant throughout the story but with the concept of the powers incorporated, the power growth is fairly limited. The timeskip roughly two thirds into the story serves only to complicate matters as all problems related to it disappear within a matter of pages. The story from there on out is predictable and boring, in contrast to the first half which was at least kind of random. The characters themselves are nothing new with the exception of Ball. Jio, Ruby, Cross, Kirin... I feel like i have seen their precursors in many other mangas. This can't be helped in most cases just in terms of the overused plot of sealed demons with the strongest within the main character as well as other not-quite-as-strong demons/angels in other less important characters. The ending, as others have remarked, is a bit disappointing, not because there were gaping holes but the fact that you have no idea why the characters would do such a thing. The characters seem so content with their absurd reality that you have to laugh at their stupidity (the only funny moment in the story). That said, its really not that bad a read, provided you have nothing else to read and are either ten years old or your brain is in outer space or somewhere else it shouldn't be.
It has potential if he had taken care of it more and developed it. its sad how people keep comparing this manga with his brothers naruto. this has a unquie plot the drawlings become better as the story progresses. The ending was rushed you can tell he wanted to end it. It's worth a read but, when you read it you should forget about naruto and just read and enjoy if you know what I mean. it can be cliche at parts but its good it's too bad most people just don't appreciate because it's not better than naruto (so they say...) It's worth a read.. it's still stuck in my head after all these years haha.
This was an interesting manga that just evolved into a very boring and random storyline quickly. guess all those hate mail he recieved just forced him to end the manga quickly after the supposed "copied" timeskip. It's still no excuse though. The rushed ending was just pathetic. Otherwise it has many elements just like Naruto. yeah. Pretty boring to read unless you're a fangirl or childish boy that likes manga with just "interesting characters"<<<?? or cliched ones with a very random storyline with no foreshadows like naruto. AND yeah thats the end of this review.
I don't know why some people gave this series such a bad rating. Yeah, there's cliches but what shounen DOSEN'T have some? Also, people are comparing it to Naruto just because the mangaka are siblings, and all the copying accusations, and saying "oh this is a naruto wannabe" blah blah blah, but really, what do you expect when they are freakin twins? I love this manga and in my opinion, it is set in a completely different theme than Naruto. It's good, but of course Naruto is better. Great read especially for Naruto fans!
somehow I found the ending bitter sweet :/.... I like the endings where you can be sure of urself. But in this case I can't think of a better ending to suit it. I can't really bring myself to dislike the story, but I can't say I like the ending.
lol... from all i've been hearing about the ending.... it really does suck but it wasn't as bad as i thought it would be. just be a total pessimist when you read it and it should come out better than you expected.
2 things I don't understand. Why people say crappy ending, and why they say it's better than Naruto. Well, if you're looking for a formulative action-fantasy shounen then this might be better than Naruto, but the ending (imo) worked in line with the story. But it did seem pushed.
If you've read several action-fantasy shounens before, you'll like this if you don't mind the stereotypical shounen stuff. But if that's not the case, 666 Satan isn't providing you anything particular.
I liked the manga. I really did. And then the mangaka drew that crappy ending. That was a HUGE disappointment for me.
I'm going to be generous with my score, since I actually liked this better than Naruto at first. And at any rate, I still like this way better than Bleach. Haha.
This series had one of the most confusing stories I've ever read in a manga. It's a mix of sci-fi and fantasy. They were obviously trying to explain the scientific elements, but that was a waste of everyone's time because half of the stuff that happens are fantasy. Everything was also rushed. Barely half of the angels/demons were introduced.
