Although I usually appreciate Yamakami's work, this manga goes too far when it comes to abuse and violence. Kaiya is not the kind of character you can get to like and therefore it makes it difficult to understand why Kei does like him. Since none of the 2 main characters are actually likeable, I'll pass this story, and reread other much better works by Yamakami.

I don't understand what Kei sees in Kaiya other than his looks. Kaiya is a violent, childish bastard who has no redeeming features. The moment Kei and Kaiya get to know each other, Kaiya only shows bad character traits. Their first intimate moment bordered on rape. When Kei tries to escape the relationship, Kaiya beats Kei up to make him stay. After the cringe worthy scene, the line that made me stop short was: "The saddest thing to bear... wasn't that he used violence." It was made to seem like the abuse wasn't that much of a problem.

So all of this abuse is suppose to be OK as the mangaka tries to convince readers that Kaiya's violent tendencies toward Kei is the product of love. We're suppose to feel sorry for him because love has made him so desperate. I don't think so lady. Violence =/= love. I have zero sympathy for Kaiya, and it would be a good day indeed if Kaiya were to live and die a lonely man.

Starts off looking like its going to be fantastic, quite uncomfortable at parts. Then it kinda fizzles out to an ending that could have really improved the whole story, the manga should have stopped a few pages earlier.
