As he is about to throw away the ticket, a 20-year-old, rookie voice actress named Onda Aka asked for the ticket. The two of them end up watching the movie together.

On their way home they notice that they live near each other. That night, Aka's apartment burns down and Matsumaru offers his help. She ends up living with him, but they have to keep it a secret to keep their jobs. What will happen to this relationship that is more than friends but less than lovers?

I didn't like the premise to this when I heard about it. Part of that has to lie with how the japanese label too many people with varied job occupations as Salary Man. I imagined it was going to be about some level worker that got to date a voice actress when she started out. It sounded like the kind of nasty wish fufilment of some otaku comic. But the guy is actually in Marketing, and he gets a promotion at the start of the series.

One problem is the character design of the girl makes her look too young though. She looks 15 instead of 20. Her design seems more cartoony than any other character as well. I think this would have been a better manga is it was a bit more real. The girl is unrealistically emotional to me.

It's a sometimes funny serious. But the manga is surprisingly juvenile. At the start, there was nothing to indicate that the girl would be anything but regular. but then she turns out to be a virgin(before doing it with the guy), and then apparently she's all overly innocent. That's just bad characterization. Then the manga resorts to sex scares instead of any complex feelings or anything.

Manga is sequential art but sometimes the positioning of the panels makes it feel like I'm missing parts of the story. This has happend pretty frequently with this manga, it's odd.

it started as an okay story but after THAT chapter i find it lacking.. i'm not a feminist but i really hate the protaganist female being unfaithful.. (by the damn hell she didn't even resist) if in fact that she attemted to stop it from happening it would be okay but nooo... she just insisted that it didn't happen.. and if by the devil if your yamada would you stop? a beautiful girl in front of you not resisting? i find it simmilar to yeme aetara's situation ch 37-39...

All the hype about chap 24...

Everyone drop after chap 24. Sure, it wasn't a pleasing chapter to the guy's audience, but Aka boyfriend also had some of his awkward moments with females(lots of them) and he doesn't tell her ( (all his encounters) either...

It all balanced out...

As for story, it is mundane and seem to be repetitive after a while...the only reason I am sticking with this is because I am somehow (dunno what word to use) by the lazy style of art form....

i almost dropped the manga after chapter 24, i began to hate Aka and probly will forever, i also do hope that the events with come back up on Aka and mess up her life and her seiyuu life, and i hope that Mastumau gets a better woman other than Aka.

i have to giv this manga a 5/10 because of chapter 24, i read all till chapter 42 and i agree that it is still a cool manga i only HATE Aka so damn much

August, 12, 2011 Edit: Ehh, got over it, but OMG Aka is a f*cking dumb*ss! I know it's sexist, but at least freaking Matsumaru is loyal even when he gets into the ecchi situation. He doesn't openly want to have sex with anyone else.

A different love story with a not so common protagonist

When one of the lead characters is a seiyuu / voiceactress, this manga drew me to it due to it being an uncommon theme.

Reading it has given me some insight to the work of a seiyuu, and the hardships endured as she climbs to the top.

Then it became a staple romance story after the lead joined the ranks of senior seiyuus, and for me, this is a sign that the manga turned for the worse.

Overall, a good read, and since it has not finished or exhausted it's premise, I think it's a recommendable read.

A serious love story this is not, although the different plot devices / a.k.a. new character encounters always ends up being almost sexual, but never really so.

Good, but not great.

Spoiler (highlight to view)
It is not about the whole concept of cheating that was disturbing, but more the fact that she does not seem to have learned anything from it nor did she had talk about it with her boyfriend later, but just reverted to her old cheerful attitude as if it was nothing.

That is what I find to be rather disturbing.

Other than that - mediocre manga, with weak characters, dragging plot and overused jokes. Nothing new, nothing good. Mediocre to it's core.

She cheated on him. She let that guy sexually fondle her and would have let him go all the way. Afterward, she just goes back to her old cheery self as if nothing had happened. No remorse, no regret, no hatred for herself or the guy. It is like she learned absolutely nothing from the experience. It was as if the whole idea of cheating on her boyfriend didn't phase her.

Unfaithfulness is in the mind as well as physical. I don't care what excuses there are, you just don't cheat on your significant other.

well, i think most people most comment instantly after they read ch24, if they kept reading next chapter, they'll know they didn't do anything at the end. so overall, i don't think its that big of a problem, since nothing happen, which they didn't get up to C, they only did B while skipping A...

If you really want to have a discussion, you should post this on the forums instead.

As for the manga. Well, it's not all that great, but it's not bad either. Not much development. But I'll wait for it to finish before going past volume 4.

NO , i don't really want a discussion, just want to give my opinion about what people think (like people can do in their comment, i know it's unusual), i don't say it great, either. The story does have character development (i think),probably you think it's not much but, well, enough for this genre, just read the it and see how they live and improve themselves) what you need to go through this manga, people should quit whining about what the heroine did...
Spoiler (highlight to view)
you think she is unfaithful? then do you understand the story ? about how a girl would feel when someone who supported her a lot in the past, and got severely injured to protect her ?more over he is the one that she admires...feeling of being in debt to someone could seriously confuse your mind, if you had any conscience...and she was deceived...although i think she is simple hearted and stupid when she thought that giving herself up to Yamada could help him relieved...but the fact that her personality development is what makes this manga interesting, however i hope she won't be more stupid in the future that so hard to understand ? if so, then you probably think later on the manga kept on going with only light, easy chapters, like nothing ever happened but since it's a secret, what more do you expect to happen?it'd be absurd if the next chapter keep messing up things from the previous arc when it already ended,Also, from the beginning, dramatic romance is one of the properties of this manga, so the pace can change from lightly slow to something "dark" any time.

@zeds and someone else: Alas,i really wish people would stop watching manga just by looking at the pictures and got freaked out just because something "complicated" happened.
And about the male protagonist, you think he's an idiot, but i swear to god that his idiotic level is better than tons of main characters in other mangas at the same genres, and thank god, he is NOT pathetic (at least until now), he does have development in his personality, getting cooler with each chapter, i really expect he won't let me down.

The plot is average but potential, although the mangaka should really pay more attention to development for other characters, not just the main, the art is..well, good.

Recommend this manga to anyone above 18, whose brain and heart, normally, can afford dramatic situations, and who don't simply drop the whole story when something they don't expect happened (you guys really remind me of some people who dropped Gantz when Kei kurono died then came back to read it and think it's awesome 0_o)
