It took a while for me to get interested because the story went on and on about the side characters and rarely centered on the main characters. Kind of like Perfect Girl evolution. For a romance it wasn't really appealing. But finally, at chapter 17 onwards the focus might be back to their romance. Hopefully....

Nothing unique since it still has some relatively typical plot points, but it's pretty good. The protagonist exhibits unpredictable sides of herself which is is what makes this quite interesting apart from the fact that she gets all sappy and repetitive with her own storyline [past]. The subplots are also unnecessary; A few chapters right after both leads meet and the progress begins to unravel,
It loses focus and you suddenly find yourself reading something almost different. The author decides to insert some other characters and their romantic relationships and it gets awfully confusing.

The art is very well executed especially the emphasis on the characters' eyes, particularly Mei's.
I'd say I would've enjoyed this even more if it weren't for Kurosawa's ridiculous hair, actually.

Well, what can i say, i always fall for pretty art, and in 'Say "I love you"''s case, the art is merely gorgeous, at least. Plus the story is one of the most romantic and fairy-tale like, though contains a big deal of realistic details to be considered both natural and very cute. I will definitely read it.

the story is sound, its execution clean. Mei's a doll- definitely in my top five fave manga heroines ever. and i adore Yamato-kun. he's too cute. his emotions and actions are very heart-warming. he keeps breaking my expectations of him- in a good way.

everyone does change when they meet Mei. it's because the things she says and does make sense. and they learn it through experience or realize it after knowing her better. it's misconceptions and prejudices being realized and addressed. these aren't evil people- they're kids who are growing and changing. even if some of it is a bit unbelievable in its rapidity, still so much more preferable to a cast of static brats who only serve to make the lead look better (but usually end up doing the opposite). very good shoujo. right up there with Beast Master, Kimi ni Todoke and Ao Haru Ride imo.

Well, i decided to check this manga out because i wanted to read something like Strobe Edge or Ao haru Ride.

While they share similar atmosphere, very school-slice of lifey. Some people say SE was boring, but i didn't think so at all. But instead, i found this manga on the dull side. The artwork is nice, although i didn't like the main guy's hair (lol) and i also liked the fashion. Her girls were very gyaru and the guys kinda host-kei-ish?

Unfortunately, i found this manga dull because it was lacking. Something was off.. which i think was the main couple. I enjoyed the side character couples, but the main couple i wasn't a fan of. Kurosawa was flat and dull.. and i think they entered the girlfriend/boyfriend stage too quickly.. their relationship progressed so fast. Within like 3 chapters or something and kurosawa is already seriously kissing her and is in love? Sure love at first sight, but the author failed to make it appear believable.. it felt more like kurosawa was playing mei to me because of the lack of realism and lack of development of his character and emotion from him.

The characters only fufill their given typical shoujo sterotypes. For example, kurosawa was the popular boy with a darker past, and mei was the shy gloomy girl who blossoms after meeting kurosawa. They played their roles rather than actually being the roles.. thats how it felt to me. Artificial sugar.

To sum it up, the author tried too hard to make this manga a refreshing breezy school manga, but instead it came out cheesy and unrealistic.

SOOO GOOD!
This manga is really good, totally not cheesy or cliched. The main girl is awesome. WHen she first meets Yamato she roudhouse kicks him XD
and Yamato is really sweet and totally in love with Mei which is really nice. I love seeing their relationship progress and Mei help out others relationships.
and the character development is really great too!

The drawings are fantastic and sometimes you just have to sigh at how good-looking the mangaka makes them look but seriously story, story, tut, tut, tut. The beginning was good, the idea cliched. Though what can you do when people in this industry don't have half a brain to stray from the norm. The ideas though were good and Mei was a nice awkward character finding love but it shouldn't have been with someone popular, this is probably were the mangaka messed up. BECAUSE IT IS TOO CLICHED. Though she does incorporate realistic things into this manga world but they were also centred a lot around sex which in a way makes it even more realistic but a central idea that repeats itself. But then again you have those totally shojo moments where you go "you lost me...this is too mushy." It becomes predictable and at one point i was yelling at my computer for something not to happen...it did.
If you're looking for something original you may find it here, but most likely if you stick around you won't. These mangas are the hardest types because you can't go anywhere that even borders real because it becomes boring, i give the mangaka credit for keeping me engaged. I will continue to read for the realism and how the character overcome it.

A good Shoujo Story

I really like this manga. The main character Mei is interesting, strong, and not cliche. In this manga you get a great blend of shoujo romance but you also get a story about learning to believe in yourself and open up to others. I think this manga does a great job showing some of the issues that people face in their teen years. I love the Mei's spirit and how she she is quiet but observant of the ones around her. She manages to be tough with out being Tsundere or cliche and that is refreshing to see in a manga.

It's actually not that great of a manga, but it's still a good read. The point i hate is how everyone suddenly changes after meeting mei, but aside from that the art is pretty good and different from the usual (especially yamato which doesn't look like a typical main male character), and the romance in itself good.
