Poor Mugi Tadano! Heartbroken after his girlfriend moves away, he takes a summer job at his friend Kazuki's beachside snack bar/hotel on a tropical island. It seems like the perfect plan - until he meets Yuu, who might just be the cutest person that Mugi has ever seen.

First I enjoyed it.. really.. you can trust me about that. But after some vol. And when Yuu goes for severall month to another town to live with her mother.. just after that, I realized how boring a manga becomes when there's no evolving plot
Romance with a touch of ecchi
a nice manga that would complement any bookcase full of manga. the art work is the moste endering factor the girls are very cutely done and the guys have the odd air of wierdness about them. the story is very nice although it is indeed much slower then many other manga's With that said i would highly recommend this to anyone who likes this genre but would be hesitant about people who dont enjoy it as much. Still its a good read for all.!
Very good indeed. :D
One of my favorite mangas currently. Very funny, & dramatic...
It's good at the beginning, i enjoyed it. But the pacing is so damn slow. You can only try and milk so much out of this series. Adding new girls gave me an extra headache. The pacing is too f'ing slow, it's do unreleastic too. The main character pisses me off beyond belief.

oh I also love the environment of this manga! natural I mean I live in a place far from nature somehow it makes me want to go to a place that is relaxing and less pollution.

pretty good as a slice of life manga
First of all, don't let the description fool you. There's nothing serious about an adventure of love. This manga tells the stories of the everyday life of a couple of lovebirds, and it's good that way. And hell, the protagonist isn't so indecisive as in many other shounen. If you are looking for a stimulating manga, don't ever read this. If you want some peaceful moments in a lovely setting, then this is what you looking for. 9/10 by me.
slow and easy plot
the story between the mugi and yuu is the main one, but the side stories with all the people around them are cool, and make the manga more interesting. right now im on ch. 113, and i haven't gotten bored yet. anyway, i think its got a great story and art if you're ok with its slow pace.

Worth a read
However, if you hope on reading an ending, I wouldn't. Guess how many chapters have come out this year. Just this year, 2008.
Doubt it'll end in my lifetime.
Being a large burly man, I have read mostly bloody and violent manga etc. But I need Warm And Fuzzy Feelings every so often to keep going. I read most of Ichigo 100% until the drama started turning my stomach sour, and similar is coming on with Suzuka so I've put that one down. However, Pastel doesn't cause this. I find it to be warmer and far more comfortable. I did not give it a 10 because I do agree the mangaka could have sped a few things up. Overall I've found the artwork to be very enjoyable, and the characters pretty fun. This isn't mindblowing by any means, but this IS fun and something I can read without needing tums. Just call me a big softie.
Repetitive... it's dragging.
I liked this series initially, as I enjoyed Parallel, the preceding work by Kobayashi. At this point though, the plot is getting extremely stale, and a major event needs to occur soon in order to revamp the storyline. Good, albeit simple, art, ecchi fanservice, typical shounen romance story aspects.
