Description
From JanimeS: Princess is a very straight forward and sad series. This series is full of romance and politics. The background is an unknown medieval era where there are three countries. Among the three countries, there is an island country called "Ramira". The empire, Ramira, is where most of stories will unfold. There are generations of princesses, and the first 27 volumes set the story for the eventual regaining of Ramira by the greatest Empress of Ramira, Preia, who was beloved by the people and had many loyal men under her.
This series reminds me a lot of other (very long) shoujo series I've read. Definitely similar in the facial characteristics department, especially for a huge cast. Luckily they have some subtle differences and very unique backgrounds and I was subconsciously able to tell most of them apart. All the usual archetypes are also here. The jerky ones, the hopelessly devoted ones... and they bring along the cliches as well. But then isn't the concept of a princess marrying a prince among the oldest of them all? Somewhere along the way I think I started to enjoy this series. It's a story told over generations, with a huge number of characters, each one with their own (mostly tragic) past, and if you end up reading this series, it is (some of) the characters that you will care about, not the politics, petty scheming (that makes us all human) and whatnot. You could basically call it a big collection of connected romantic (and/or tragic) tales about princes and princesses (who doesn't like them), alongside the main political events which unsurprisingly are not the focus of this series. The stories unfold rather naturally, though not without twists, and some of those twists could be quite surprising . And Sei is easily the most popular guy with the readers. He's a hax.
OMG... The best ever... SO angsty and yet sweet at the same time... Sometimes i cried, sometimes i envied the love that they portrayed in this manhwa. My favorite couple?? Tor & Lala took the first place. The second place goes for Leo & Eshe. My favorite chara so far, Sei or Sibel. I can't decide it yet... >.<
nways , i hope this is a good manga and please dont stop this manga here , hope to complete reading this series and it will be really dissapointing if the series is stopped (as i read at the end of vol 31 ch 10). its pretty exciting thou many details are missing.
It is really good, but very sad. I get depressed each time I start a new volume. The story is very interesting and full of awesome characters, I can't wait until volume 31 comes out!!!
It's awesome! It's very long though. The guys are drawn really well! I love that Eishield is so strong, and well, has such an unorthadox kind of character for this time period. I love the fact that some of the characters are so hateable, and in the end of the confict their ass is kicked...except for Bii, I hate her *cries*
in the Description of this manhwa it's written "Princess is a very straight forward and sad series", well "very sad series" looks for me a bit light, I'd rather say princess is an extremely depressing series. I won't go into details but I'll give this piece of advice which looks useful in my point of view, don't ever read this manhwa if you are blue or you are going through some depressing circumstances because I'm a bit sure it will duplicate your depression 10 times or probably even 100 times.
...why do people have the urge to give major spoilers for absolutely no reason on here? This whole series is basically about the different couples and their relationships and to give away some of the endings is so inconsiderate... Just say your opinions/thoughts and MOVE ON jeez...
by the way this series is pretty great and definitely worth checking out ^^
at first i tought it would be some kind of ordinary n usual kind of love story,, but im shock with it!!! its absolutely wonderful n great,, even tough the art was a bit less,, but the story is worthed it..,, i love the story between lala n the king,, but it turn really sad.. oh my god.. i cried a lot when she died..,, all i can say is you MUST READ IT!! you wont regret it!!! i guaranteed that!!
Not bad! a unquie story line n nice drawings. Even though sometime it gets boring but u still wanna knows what's gonna happen next. The story have an unexpected turns n really sad! I like the romance b/w lala n the king the most, but I can't believe she died that was so sad! N I'm lookin' forward to Pry story! it's gonna be interestin' !
I love the story, but the art... it seems very average to me.
Bad part first. This could be a wonderful manhwa if the art was a bit better... Being someone who does a lot of art, I honestly think that the so-so art actually takes away from the story. Other than that, it's amazing, and strangely, the plot is unexpected and predictable at the same time. Oh the pairings, who would've GUESSED? *sarcasm* but a "certain someone's" change of heart was completely unexpected.
It's still a great manhwa. Truly one of its kind C: You don't see many mangas/manhwas with so much politics involved. It's a really nice treat for people like me who detests the average shoujo manga. Dx Princess is very emotional as well, and I find myself captivated by the plot.
Although... xD; I burst out laughing whenever the artist draws the 'shocked' expression of the characters, which is basically just them without any eye detail (no change in expression, either.) Well, this seems like a negative review now, but the manga is still one of my favorites at the moment.
This would be a 10 if the art was up to par with something like Goong, which is... similar in its setting.
