Sincere

This is something I read sparingly because I don't want it to end. It is intimate and sweet because it explores big feelings, and does it so successfully like all other Suzuki Julietta titles it's to keep for rainy days. Like the question of humanity, it's clear which side anyone would care to take, but we still wait to see how the series handles the answer. It cannot take us by surprise in the stories it tells, but how masterfully and sincerely it tells them.

I have very little problem with the art, because presentation -- panel layout, pacing, -- still triumphs.

Very good quick read

This is an extremely good, light and quick read on those boring Sunday afternoons. Characterization is very good, development of the protanganist is done very well: in a good pace and all characters are very likeable. Plot is probably not as deep as other mangas but it is quite original and it's very refreshingly light-hearted, humour is perfect! Art is also beautiful and all characters are uniquely drawn so it's easy to distinguish between each one. Also has a frustrating but very suitable and reasonable open-ended ending which is good for a light-read but I personally WANT ROMANTIC RELATIONSHIPS DAMNIT, this is just out of bias though, so even you loathe open-ended endings like me, try it!

Recommened this to everyone! I like how it's one of the few mangas that dont take "romance + robots = pedophiliac smut"

One of the better shoujo-s out there (Sweet, cutesy but deep)

If you're looking for a sweet, lighthearted but intelligent read, you could do much worse than Karakuri Odette. The romantic subplot, as already mentioned in the past comments, was subtly executed but satisfying nonetheless even for a hardcore romantic like me. The characters are funny, interesting and relatively 'unique' (by shoujo standards). And the art is nice, though I've definitely seen better, I'm satisfied that the mangaka's drawings were able to convey the different feelings & emotions of the characters.

This manga has a great story line. The ending was quite realistic, nothing too lovey-dovey, the idea of how it focuses more on the female lead slowly developing as she enters the human world is fantastic.

Sweet and ambiguous story

This is a sweet series which I enjoyed a great deal. I was expecting a little more action/adventure in it but came to love all the characters and really got into it about half way through. It's a little slow in the beginning but once you get to know the characters it breezes through and you're finished before you know it!
The art is clean and simplistic which makes a refreshing read. The length of 6 volumes is just about perfect for someone looking for a touching short story. The ending is lovely and allows you to draw your own conclusions, too smile

Sweet

It's like a slice of life high school sci-fi. Sweet, innocent, and doesn't rush things, and to top it off there's some interesting sci-fi plot dynamics and excitement here and there. Nothing serious or too terrible, but it keeps the pace going. I did think it got a little tedious at times, but the main character's quirky naivete and curiosity kept it cute and funny enough that I didn't mind too much. I loved the parts involving Chris because they were the most interesting (besides the ending) and I also really liked Asao's character. He makes a nice foil for Odette and his huge reactions to her strange questions are funny. The art's also pretty nice. So overall it was not the most exciting or innovative or intense in any way but it was a refreshingly safe and sweet read.

for those that get tired of mainstream this is a must read. Lots of character development and the characters are not annoying all the time. The romance is subtle and you can't tell who someones going to end up with, if they end up with someone at all.

I think I'm the only one who isn't satisfied with this manga. Sorry. I do admire Odette's urge to want to be more human, and she's very innocent about it. She's quite cute. However, I was hoping more of an adventure manga than a coming-of-age one. I much prefer Julietta's Kamisama Hajimemashite so much more.

One might think that the whole android getting accustomed to living in a human world theme is unoriginal and cliched, but I didn't find it so at all when reading the manga, and our heroine Odette explores her world with such innocence, sweetness and humour that you can't help enjoying the story with her. The characters are interesting and delightful, and the story is surprising and never dull. I love the romance in this manga, it is innocent, heartfelt, and sweet, just like the manga =)

Because its so unique in so many ways, when I read, I actually worry that it's not completed and that I won't be able to read more. The characters are extremely entertaining that I sometimes literally laugh out loud.
