Description
From Storm in Heaven and one of their legacy groups, Bamboo Feathers:

Deep in a cave lies a demon trapped in ice who will eat any human who dares enter. The demon, Blood, waits for the human who will cry the purest tears, for the gem formed from those tears will break the spell that binds him.

One day, a young man named Ishuca appears in the cave—and knowing that his weak heart will not last long, he has come to die. Touched by Ishuca's gentle nature, Blood gradually begins to change from the cruel, ice-cold demon he once was.

Note that the artbook contains a new Koori short story.

Its really sweet. The romance is cute and pretty nicely done. I would recommend it, but as it goes farther on the shounen-ai moments decrease, and they were pretty light to start with. Anyway, emotions are shown really well and you understand the motives/reasons why everyone does what they do.

The Rapunzel story was really cute but
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
would it really kill them to give us one canon romance scene between rapunzel and wild, just a kiss or something

Edit: @asrodeia yep, i meant wild, i read it awhile ago

Honestly I liked the manga a lot, especially the relationship of the protagonists, in addition to the story itself is fantasy. Obviously the story is not far behind, it's a shame that the group that was in English and not continue drawing, I have to stay with the desire to know what will happen. Happy reading to all / as!

I had just started this series yesterday and finished all of it (including all volumes) in one day. This manga is so funny and is quite creative. It has it's sweet, funny, and painful moments, and the bond between Blood and Ishuca is impenetrable. They went through so much and only until the end of the manga did they finally find some peace. The art wasn't that appealing at the beginning, but as you continue to read, the art gradually becomes REALLY eye-catching. I always respond with giggles and "OMG, bishies". It's one of those long shounen-ai, but it's worth the time to read. I enjoy this series and her other work, Silver Diamond. If you are needing something to read, then go ahead and read this one.

The last time I read Koori no Mamono no Monogatari was when there was only about four or five volumes scanlated, and recently I decided to reread the manga and catch up with it. If you haven't been keeping up with the series (or if you haven't been able to get past the first seven volumes) READ IT.

Like mentioned in a previous comment, the plot doesn't start to get intense until about volume 9.

Anyways, I love this series, just as I love Silver Diamond. Light BL, deep character bonds with each other, etc.

My favorite BL series <3

Out of the hundreds of BL manga I've read so far, Koori no Mamono no Monogatari is my absolute favorite. I love everything about it - plot, characters, relationship developments, art, etc. - it is a truly touching series that has made me tear up more than once while I was reading (and re-reading) it.

With that said, I've to admit that my first impression of Koori wasn't good at all. The quality of the 1st volume scanlation was poor, and the artwork as well as plot at the beginning were extremely ordinary, so I thought about either just skimming through the series or dropping it altogether.

However, everything improves with each volume and the story really comes together. Perhaps what I love most about this series is that nothing about it is over-dramatic; it stays real while working with the complications of human emotions and human nature. While I consider Koori a fairytale, and it has its fair share of comedic moments, it also has enough angst to satisfy an angst-lover like me.

To make a long comment short, I strongly, strongly recommend this series!

The best shounen ai since 'Sono Yubi Dake ga Shitteiru' (ok KnMnM technically came out before that) trust me i've read hundreds of yaoi/shounen-ai by now. At first the 24 volumns were a bit daunting, i didn't think it would would've held my interest for more than a volume or two (blame the short attention span) but i got through all 24 volumes within just a week.
The art was gorgeous and the story was even more so. Although the BL content was light, the love and respect that the main chartacters had for each other was conveyed beautifully.
Highly recommended!

The story is simple because it's targetted at younger readers. However, the characterisation and emotions between the 2 main characters and even the cast are intense, well-written and rival many similar stories.

Great manga, but very, very light on the 'shonen-ai' aspect of things

Lovely story, very sweet, sometimes quite tragic, sometimes much lighter and fun. Beautiful art too, especially later in the series - the style progresses to become something much more like what you could see in Silver Diamond. Just don't expect anything much to happen with regard to the shonen-ai aspect of things biggrin
