Enjoyable to Read!!!

Ever since I started reading this, I was totally hooked! I own volumes 8, 9 and 10 and I'm not gonna spoil any of those volumes for anyone (unless you want to know or already know). Sure it contains loli, love between two individuals that are decades or centuries apart, nudity, and boy-rape. But there is a reason WHY she is in that form (if you read the story then you'll understand). Like what Narutosuckz said, love is love. Age doesn't play a role and neither does other physical characteristics. There is nudity, no doubt about that. But it isn't a random panty shot or boobies flying around. It happens at certain points of the story when its suppose to. The boy-rape scene. Okay, I didn't like it either but it wasn't graphic and I just continued reading.

As I stated before, I really enjoyed this story. Its a shame that scanlators worked so hard to translate, clean, and etc. the raw chapters only to be ousted by Seven Seas releasing the volumes a lot earlier. I want to say thank you to the scanlators for trying their best for continuing this project regardless of Seven Seas' licensed releases. For the readers out there, if you can't find the scanlator translated chapters, then please support the author. I know some of you may say, "I don't have a store that sells that manga/any manga". My answer to that is: look online. Buy it off amazon, ebay, kijiji, bookstore website (i.e. chapters.indigo.ca) etc if you're willing to spend a little money. Its definitely worth it! If not, then wait for new translated chapters or borrow it from someone else. Your choice.

Sorry for rambling on here, this is my first time reviewing on this site bigrazz

Peace out people!

I love how everyone authenticates their moral standards by demeaning those in the opposing party.

As it is, I cant say I enjoyed this manga much. Many of the reactions from the characters felt less believable and more like an excuse to get to the next point in the plot. That being said, the take on the whole vampire thing is pretty different and as far as the plot goes, its fairly original.

I personaly cldnt continue reading this because of my personal *eeww* moral compass, and because I just couldnt picture the characters as real.

I'd say to skip this manga-but, as seen from the many glowing reviews-it might be worth a shot.

their are point where in this manga i thought were very disturbing. well to me at lest however though
it does keep things interesting and keeps u hooked in but some of the theme are easily misinterpreted
like the theme "Love to over come differences" the writers shows this by a 13 year old boy(who looks 8-10) going out with a 18 year old girl.....not quite what i would have done............sorry if you like this manga but i feel quite freaked at the way the themes are shown at times...but....i keep reading.....

I'm surprised that this is good.

I find the complaints about the ecchiness a bit odd. There's quite a bit of nudity, but it never felt pornographic to me. Most ecchi beats your head in with 'LOOK AT THESE BOOBS! HAVE A PANTY SHOT!'. Here it just seems incidental and entirely appropriate given the subject matter.

Better than Average, to say the least

Like what others have said, the manga is refreshing in the way that vampires are portrayed differently in this manga. I don't mean portrayed differently as in they change everything about the vampires (weaknesses, body composition, SPARKLINESS for cryin' out loud! Ugh!), but in that they the vampires are seeking acceptance along with trying to establish their own nation and such.

The plot itself of the manga is deep and pulls the reader in. The story is not overly complicated, and the characters are indeed three dimensional. The only problem I have with it is the ridiculous ecchi moments. By putting those scenes where Mina voluntarily takes off her clothes made it seem forced and unnatural. However, that clears up after the first volume.

Overall, I've come to respect and like (if not love) this manga. Before the Loli/Shota scare, I wouldn't have heard of it at all.

Vampire stuff doesn't exactly get old, people get tired of it. You've seen a couple, you've seen them all, that's the problem. They're mostly good, but you already know what happens.

This manga is pretty cool in the fact that it takes the vampire genre and add some minor twists- people are learning about the existence of vampires, there's strife and trouble, and blah blah blah.

What's also cooler is the relationships that are shown. There's definite romance, there's twists and turns in the plot, there's drama and horror and one or two bits of comedy spread out now and then... The presentation is just awesome.

I think it moves a bit fast, though. Like, I feel like the first two volumes could be spread to three or four, but right now it works very good. There's an anime announced, and I think it'll do very well, as long as they don't make it so that ONE chapter is ONE episode.

Check it out. You'll like it.

Something new in the vampire genre
by Wufu

Dance in the vampire bund caught my interest because of its new approach (or at least for me it was new) to the vampire genre. It isn't the same old story of vampires existing in the shadows, one human discovers one, and they enter in a love-or-hate relationship. The author presents us with the reality of today but adds a twist of vampires coming out of hiding and seeking world recognition. The story is in the perspective of the vampire queen as she creates a place in the world for vampires. Of course, like in reality, there are always people who want to stanch this influx of change and at times this is like a body guard manga, albeit 'the principle' is just as strong as her body guard. There are some ludicrous ecchi moments in the beginning but that was probably for the market appeal.

The main characters in this manga all have feeling. There is a third dimension to the main characters. Every main character has their own personalities and reasons. Unfortunately, as of what's scanlated, the side characters have not had the time to morph into a other than adjunct role. The romance is present and clearly shown to the reader, (really minor spoiler, about the current stage of the romance)
Spoiler (highlight to view)
but as of now it remains nothing more than dramatic irony.
That means it's a side focus and it most likely will blossom as the series continues.

The art is on the upside of mediocre. There are some characters drawn to not only add depth to the narrative but serves as fan service material—two birds with one stone I guess. The author also does a great job depicting the characters in their temperaments especially Mina (the queen). Mina's change in persona is reflected in his art style. Also, the author has an imaginative and acute sense of style when it comes to the vampires' style of clothing. This is usually seen on Mina's dresses as they never stop to amaze me.

I like it. Other's also like it. So go read it. 4 out of 5 stars.

Holy crap this is awesome!

Have you ever read the first chapter or two of a story, or watched the first scene or two of a movie, or the first episode of a TV show, and you just knew it was going to be non-stop awesome? I have. This one's a 10.

It's not perfection, but for everything I can think of as a negative point, I can also argue something positive about.

There's the awkward fanservice in volume 1, which involves child nudity in something of an (innocently) suggestive situation. But that also drops the reader immediately into the middle of the relationship between the main characters, and immediately establishes the Mina is *not* simply as she appears; their relationship *is* sometimes awkward, mostly due to Akira's naivety or shortsightedness; that they share an odd trust and love for each other. All of this in the first few chapters, without any of the usual, obvious character introduction you'd usually expect at the start of a story.

The main character appears to be 12, yet lives, dresses, and acts like an adult. I can almost guarantee you'll feel uncomfortable reading parts of this, because of that. But that's good - you're supposed to feel awkward. She's not normal, and it'd be a much more boring story if Mina was an older, dyed-in-the-wool vampire queen. Her youth works strongly for her character; despite all her responsibilities and position, she *is* young, and *does* end up having to swallow a lot of her emotions in order to work/live properly, according to her position. The moments when we see Mina blush, or hide something she'd like to say, hit so much harder because of how she's portrayed. Underneath all the strength and willpower and admirable leadership, she is actually scared, and loving, and curious.

It's vampires+werewolves, for crying out loud. Except it's nonstop badass. And the characters have so much depth, you practically feel like you know them personally. It's full of cliche'd battles and insane political drama, but it's what we get of the characters before/after/between all of that, that really makes this shine.

I'm rambling now, but I do feel like this is definitely worth reading, even if-- no, especially if you'll likely find some parts uncomfortable or awkward or annoying to read.

Very good manga. The story get pretty deep, and the romance is good, and i especially like how these vampires actually think about solutions to their problems (ex: sunlight).

oh yah and i thought i recognized the art from somewhere. So i saw what other works the author has done. Ne. To. Ge.
