Sigh, degradation hits

Spoiler (highlight to view)
It's really awesome for the first like, 100 chapters. But what drew me to this series was that it was utopian, and explored the relationship with the Sekirei, and Minato really well. But since Sakurako copped out and actually KILLED someone (not done to date), to copy the anime, and went way too deep into Yukari's angst, I'm really losing hope for this series. The Yukari part might just be because I dislike angst and Shiina (the King(?) of angst), also because the death of Uzume felt so cliche, so pathetically drawn out, disappointing, and obvious, that it makes me question if Sakurako has ran out of creative ideas. The part about the disciplinary squad (in the same chap) was pretty nice though...
Just, before chapters 106-8, I was giving this series a 10/10, now I'm lowering it to 7/10, good enough to read, but frustratingly disappointing later on...

This series is VERY interesting. If you are truly interested in the storyline then you should find it very interesting to read. I started with the anime and wanted to know how the manga is like and i've been reading non-stop. Since the story is quite interesting then you should consider the extra themes like nice art, boobs and others as a added but essential Bonus.Either way i love it now and forever! lol

Strong storyline that includes great fight scenes

At first I was a bit wary because it's ecchi + harem, a combination of genres I try to stay away from. So I was pleasantly surprised to find Sekirei to have a strong storyline, great fight scenes as well as being hilarious. As the story progresses, we learn more about the Sekirei (their background, fighting abilities, personalities) and their Ashikabi (the bond between the Ashikabi and his/her Sekirei). Bit by bit, the Sekirei Project and what it's really about is revealed, creating a sense of mystery for the plot. The fan service is also a bonus for male readers. With art this beautiful, I would definitely recommend this manga series to anyone (whether male or female) who doesn't mind some ecchi scenes. This manga's well thought out plot has captivated me to follow it till the end. The anime series also follows the manga's main plot quite well, minus a few small differences, so that's also definitely worth watching.

hail to em, which are huge

BoOoOobs - huge, big, small, but mostly huge. Defying gravity and biology. Made, probably, of toughest alloys of carbonized steel. Made for combat and bloodshed. And that is it, mostly. Also one loose male - good for nothing, without any proper work. But he was given an important mission - look after em, test em in real combat. Em, which are huge (mostly). Ones who got em attached to is not worth mentioning, because he will go after whatever em attached to. By the way em drawn with love "..my precioOOous..". And that the great story and tragedy of his mission. Fin.

Good for a harem

Currently this is my favorite harem manga and it can mostly be contributed to one factor: there isn't an annoying child-hood friend to spoil the fun with shouts of "ecchi!" and subsequent pummelings. This manga knows what it is and it excels at it.

Fanservice, dumb story
by Molenir

Title says it all. It has a lot of fanservice. Thats the good thing. The bad thing, is the story is dumb. Frequently nonsensical with characters doing moronic things, normal people would never even consider. And behind it all, this super corporation that defeated armies sent by the rest of the world. Which apparently then allowed them in to buy up land etc. Basically, the story is a pathetic excuse for fanservice and girls fighting. If you like stuff like Ikkitousen, this is for you. If you like a story to make some logical sense, just give it a pass. Even if you do like this kind of story, I'd still recommend waiting til its complete, as the lame, pointless drama is more irritating then entertaining.

Most beautiful art ever.

This manga has the most beautiful drawings i have ever seen for a manga. Well, that's just my opinion anyway. But as many others have said, don't judge the manga by its cover (or by the boobs).

The story is very very interesting, solid and quite unique. Surprisingly, the story and events have deep meaning with a lot of heartwarming moments. The characters are loveable, the main guy may seem like a wuss but he isn't and can be very brave even when he knows he might die, and he isn't cocky, or angsty. ALL the females are like A-list models and are the most beautiful i have ever seen in a manga, while loli characters like Ku-chan is the cutest character i have ever seen!

It may seem too fast for the heroines to fall for the guy, but we can't compare the Sekireis to normal humans; its genetic, they have good instincts to really know their most suitable partner. And they really really care for each other, which is very nice and heartwarming.

There is a lot of nudity and ecchi, but they never go over the line. The author/illustrator is a woman, so there's some control. To be honest, at first i thought their boobs were way too big and i wished they were more normal-sized, but as it went on i don't mind anymore. As someone have commented, the fan service are never distasteful, and the fights are great and not too long.

Overall a highly recommended manga. NEED MOOOAAARR!!

Something I Want

The ecchi at times can be a handful (and sometimes I wish for less of it) but it doesn't bother you too much. It has a good mix of comedy and drama, as well as an interesting story that makes you want to keep reading. The art is something too. I hope someday that Sekirei gets licensed because I want this series.^__^

Surprisingly fun and has meaning

I began reading a chapter or two a few months back and was like wooow sad excuse for fan service and stopped. But then i got bored and went back to read this and man i missed these past months. The characters are great, fun, well thought out, and they're obviously the hottest girls you'd ever meet in life or heaven aha. The protagonist is great because he isn't too cocky or too pussy. He protects his girls when they need to and he lets them fight when they need to. The story is really nice and thought out. i haven't read all of it yet so i cannot say much, but this is a great story so far. Artwork is great as well with beautiful characters and drawings. The fan service in this manga isn't distasteful and when it happens i was never like "what?!! just why did she get naked?". It was more like "wow this fight is intense", or "what's going to happen to them". The fights or the conversations that go on when the ecchi moments come up are so interesting sometimes you don't pay attention (though it doesn't hurt to stare).

All in all don't judge a manga by the boobs...i mean by its cover. this may appear as a meaningless fan service manga at first but it has strong plot points and good character development. It's so much more and is simply a great manga. I'd recommend this manga to any one i know. So since you are reading these comments of mine, read this manga as well, I'm sure you'll love it!

...If only there was a 11/10 option
