How this trash became so popular is beyond me. Comes complete with: a weak story, one sided characters, plot holes, and ridiculous fights. Do yourself a favour and stear clear.

Part 1 was great in many ways, really. But this whole Sasuke arc made the part 2 far inferior to part1. I don't hate Sasuke or anything, but let alone making him absurdly haxxed, Kishi made Naruto himself miserable in his own fuckin' manga. Really, I think there's lotta better mangas out there, that don't get any attention at all.
Anyways, the last arc seems promising to me, and ch 430 was an incredible way to end the year, there's no doubt about that. I sure hope Kishi keeps it up. It's a decent manga overall, not anything special though. (lol that being said this is my fav. manga, maybe it's because it was the first manga i've ever read and what drew me in to the manga world. )

I'm all right with Naruto not ending; if that's the case though, don't make it endlessly seem like it will. Explore other ninja villages, create new scenarios in which Naruto could develop, or anything really for that matter. Instead we have a 100+ chapter boss fight that felt old in the first 15.

It's a shounen manga with "twists" that are supposed to be amazingly "OMG!". I like kishimoto's art...I really do. It's fusion between slightly realistic and anime gives a nice aura to my eye. The art is detailed and screams "JAPANESE!" with it's fusion with old japanese legends. But that's all I liked about it. I gave it too many chances until I coughed up enough blood to finally put it down. The story is that usual "train, beat up meet stronger...train, beat up, meet stronger..." plus the occasional "evil person's scene" and quite lame "drama". You can label the characters with a snap of a finger. Their personalities seemed nice at first...then flushes down the toilet as they "developed". Character reactions are gettign unrealistic overtime...and I think slowly Kishimoto is responding to his fans more and more. I've read this series all the way through...and probably stopped at when ******* died. Yes, far from the beginning of shippuden by a trillion chapters...so far I'm still reading it...because I'm still giving it chances. (The art still inspires me). A VERY basic plot (by that, I mean straightforward) does not meet the requirements of a teen audience in my opinion. (maybe the "teeny boppers" as they call 'em in the 50's.) The only thing it's for teens is the blood and violence...but definitely not for the simple (and quite lame) storyline.
...Therefore, I find this series basic "beyond" shounen. It's just so basic that if this series' storyline was drawn as a line, it'll be as straight as a ruler...with a few nicks because you accidentally traced a small portion of your finger when you start.

Part one was great, and so was the beginning of part two, but the ending was pretty awful. Everything felt rushed, new characters were pulled out of nowhere and made relevant while others took a backseat for some reason. Character development went out the window at the end too, so disappointing. It almost seemed as though the author had too many ideas or tried to cater to too many viewpoints rather than focus on his own, and ultimately lost control of the story. Naruto was the series that got me into reading manga and that I stuck with, and so I'm pretty sad that it ended like this. That being said, the series (mostly part one) will always have a special place in my heart.

Some of the scores are ridiculous and uncalled for. Naruto might be overrated by many, but even more so now it's being underrated. I've seen mangas that deserve 1's. Naruto isn't one of them.

Naruto became a trend, so much so that it's become so vogue to hate Naruto and claim it is horrible, and in that, Naruto hate has also become a trend.

Naruto is cliche shounen, but so is Bleach, Fairy Tail, HunterxHunter, and the list goes on. But I still think it still delivers entertainment, I still love the characters, I still enjoy the fights, I still like the strong panels, and it's a good download for a decent story. Remove yourself from the fandom politics and elitist snobbery, both inside and outside the fandom, and you'll generally enjoy yourself.

It starts awesome, but somewhere around the middle of the manga, they stop developing characters, the plot starts to fade and u can actually guess the ending.... this was the manga that got me to read manga, but im glad it ended....

A few years ago I would have given this a 10/10 but then I grew older and the series itself began to grow flat. It just went on for far too long and well I'll miss it. This was my childhood, elementary school to now high school, but I really wished the ending was better. Oh well.

I like the first 20 volumes but as the series dragged on, the quality decreased as well. New plots keep pop up but many of them don't fit well with the original story thus making it seems a ragged piece of cloth. The fights' quality went down too. In early part most of characters, especially Naruto, have only a limited set of techniques and have to use their brains to maximize their abilities. That is what make their fights interesting to watch. But in later parts, Naruto keeps getting new techies thus previous abilities were rendered useless.

but after chunnin exam arc got worse and worse

with very good fight scenes. but a bit long .
orochimaru was very good character . then become worse and worse
