Description
Koizumi Kanna is infatuated with the man who came to the restaurant she works at and ordered a burger with no onions. Little does she know, Toujou Ren is interested in her as well, but for a different reason. Kanna just so happens to be the mirror image of a woman he knew a very long time ago. It is for that reason that he saves her when she nearly dies in a car accident. But the life he gives Kanna is far different from the one she lived before, and she's not certain it's the kind she wants...

i hate tragedy and vampires but this was still a very memoriable read. (Its actually a wonder i picked this up)
it was actually very memoriable but not for a reason that i liked. it left me with a feeling so sad that i almost felt helpless. this feeling was most likely due to the destiny aspect of the story, in fact i thought this was going to be the first vampire manga i'd like but it stopped being addicting when the destiny crud came in(i really believe that it is what you do that affects you - karma- but i really hate the idea of a predetermined fate).
overall an interesting read worth your time

Fujiwara Kaoru has done it again!
Artwork: Beautiful
Plot: Confusing, but interesting
It's not like it was perfect, though...
I mean, the ending was.... eh.
But it was really a great read.
The recommendations aren't good, so I'll give you some:
If you liked it, read Akusaga, Dolls, Switch, Fetish or Mukashi no Hanashi (the last two are by the author of Vampire Girl).

the first chapters were usual shoujo which contains mystery, which was very nice for me... then it became depressing and more depressing(and mystery was still on). but there was still romance. the drawing is really good. *spoiler* if you like sad endings you should read this *spoiler*

The series starts of relatively normally but it quickly gets dark and it's definitely different from most other manga out there.
What I like best about this is that it tells you the story but lets you draw your own conclusions though in that sense it is harder to understand it instantly.
For those who want something light, funny and easy to read, don't bother with this manga. This isn't anything like any of those things. This manga makes you think hard.
It's creepy, morbid, beautiful and utterly addictive.

This manga is very refreshing; the artwork is nice but not distracting. Instead, we get to focus on the thrilling and very interesting plot. There's a lot of psychological drama, and this story is a new look on the lives of modern day vampires.
Note: There are TWO volumes in the original Japanese edition (used by SiH), but THREE in the Chinese edition (which VK is using) because there are 17 chapters total, and the chinese publishers decided to break it up into 3 volumes.

Very intense good read.. But the rushed part of it made me feel confused about why they built it up like that just to cut it short so easily.

he loved the other her for so long that it's no wonder he saved her. Then kept her.. Just to have such a backwards ending

The First 10 chapters/Stories where pretty good, but once things started to really open up boom the end. I Would say read this i really liked it even tho it was rushed in the end. Really wish it had time to really play itself out properly tho. I say its an an 8, because of the approach and the elements. Loved the simplistic beautiful art. Took away two points for sudden ending. I will say that i was not left with a wanting feeling that other open ended stories tend to live you with.
Starter off really interesting

Started off really interesting, however, the sub-plots were a little clumsily delivered and the pacing was a bit slow. By the time I read chapter 9, I was so bored with the manga.
What pity though that the art was good but the plot so-so.

What save this manga from a bad rating is the art, which is gorgeous in its simplicity and subtle use of tone. The characters always look beautiful but kind of sickly, which enhances the effect of vampirism. While the storytelling is not bad, the pacing is a little off. Frankly, it rushes to the end so quickly that the readers can hardly understand what has happened. There is very little character development, being a 3-volume series. I guess I would recommend this series because the subdued art is too nice to pass up, but don't have too much expectations for it. If you get confused near the end, just know you're not the only one. I'm going to reread this series during my winter break and can, hopefully, understand the ending.

Vampires, love, dark secrets, crime and punishment... This manga includes everything which makes you think. You will be surprised if you read it and you'll be also depressed, especially if you read it to the end. The story is more than an average vampire story full of clichés because it depicts well a very interesting and difficoult relationship between immortals (who can die and hurt easily indeed). The emphasis lays on the personality and the past of the main characters and is very detailed, though, I didn't get bright answers to all of my questions at the end of the manga.
