On her first date with the cutest boy in school, Ichigo is exposed to a mysterious ray that meshes her DNA with that of the endangered Iriomote wildcat. She soon discovers that she has developed superhuman abilities and enhanced agility. Her new powers are put to the test when she leads a team with four other girls, each endowed with special abilities of their own. Together, they must now protect the Earth from an alien menace known as Deep Blue.

Yes, it's a cute style of drawing, but the story has a very clear outline and is calculable. It's only an old magical-girl cliché. But if you like storys like the mangas in Nakayoshi (Mermaid Melody-Pitchi Pitchi Pitch; Sailor Moon etc.) it's a recommend. But for the shojo manga-readers, who read mangas like Kareshi kanojo no Jijo, Shinshi Dômei Cross, FullMoon wo sagashite, Sunadokei, Marmalade Boy, NANA etc. : please don't read it!
This was my first series of manga I ever read, it's such a cute series with the typical super-hero story-line, but even then it was enough to keep me reading manga all through-out my otaku days. I highly recommend this manga to newcomers.
When I was a child, I loved this series. As I grew up, I still go back to this series from time to time. I wouldn't rate it a 1 cause I grew out of this show. I adore it when I was a child. It is my childhood show and manga to read and it will always will be along with sailor moon. Sure it was cliche, sure it nothing to original. But so what? Not everything has to be new and refreshing and outside the box. This series was for teenager and child's and that what it holds truly. Artwork is adorable. Story isn't original but doesn't have to be. As I enjoy it.
!!! wen i was lyke 10 i bought the WHOLE series! and i regret it now >< i could've bought sumthing SOOO much more worth it ryt now...i dun even want to pick it up T^T soo boring n the art isn't even tht great many mistakes in it!!
I've watch the anime and I really liked it but this manga was a real bummer. The only reason I read it all was becouse I was hoping that it would some how get better at the end or something. The TOKYO MEW MEW à LA MODE looks a little more promising but I still have to read it.

The only reason why I continued reading, was because of the two cute guys in the café, but the main character didn't end up with neither of them:( ....bummer

i love this series soo much!! i usually HATE shoujo manga, but this was different! the only thing that bothered me in this was the romance of masaya and ichigo, i dont really find anything special about masaya :[ i really dont like the anime that much, i prefer the manga, better artwork!!
