Was that shinagawa-kun?!?!?

I thot it was pretty good and funny, but the part i was stuck on was that the teachers looked exactly like shinagawa and chiba from her previous work yankee-kun to megane-chan. It really might be them since in the end of yanmega i heard shinagawa became a teacher at his old highschool, but isnt this a different school. Whatever the case i hope its them and that they can explain wat happend to shinagawa and adachi in the end since the mangaka left a HUGE open ending to yanmega.

A different kind of shounen manga and shounen male protagonist

Good thing they remove the gender bender tag lol XD. seriously though, i was hesitating to read this manga cause at first it has a gender bender tag lol. but as i read on, damn that was a first. a body swapping ability with good laughs and execution for comedy and since the romance part hasn't developed yet at this early stage. although this is not your usual shounen male protagonist. Yamada is unlikely different from other shounen male protagonist. he's not your usual cliche protagonist if not more than the usual protagonist. the plot's good, concept's of executing the romance and comedy are out of this world lol, unexpected reaction, and so forth. this manga is different from your usual shounen manga and i certainly recommend it for good laughs although the romance part is still on the early stage, i'm dying to know how the hell he has that kind of ability lol XD

Binge read this over the weekend and caught up from the start. In my opinion, the mangaka has outdone herself with this story and improved the mistakes from her previous work, Yankee to Megane-chan. A few great memorable characters and a decent supporting cast.

Continuity and plot progression is masterfully done, atypical for shounen ecchi harem comedies. Great premise with an even better development. A good part of this story is hilarious with a few touching moments. Newer characters have yet to be fleshed out, but the main cast have great personality. The premise drew in readers itching for something different, while the story and the especially the characters made them stay. One of the best I have read in some time.

If this is evidence of the author's evolution, the mangaka has only gotten better: storytelling is more crisp. Characters more realistic (despite most being stereotypes) in terms of interactions in relationships.

Edit: This story is getting a little a little complicated with the next set of witches, but the author manages to keep the plot moving smoothly using Yamada's straightforwardness.

Getting Interesting

While I agree that it should have ended after the First Witch War, the story became stale after it. But after reading all the chapters today, I suppose the story is picking up speed with the male witches and the mystery behind Yamada's missing memories of his first year in school.

One of the BEST Romantic Comedy I have EVER read!

Great story, great characters, awesome character development, even more awesome inter-character development smile
And funny to boot.
If you think the summary sounds cliche, then you'd be wrong; the content is totally fresh. No tiring tropes. Every chapter gets you hooked and you just. can't. stop. reading!
I feel ashamed to have ignored this one out the first time I knew about it.

It is unlike the typical romcoms around.
Fanservice is kept to a minimum and they're not senseless or 'cheap' (If that's what worries you).
One other thing I appreciate is the unbiased number of males in this manga; usually romcoms have a guy-to-girl ratio of like 1:10 or so, but this manga has more or less equal guys and girls, which is kinda refreshing.

Yoshikawa Miki-sensei is one of my top favourite mangakas right now.

This and The World God Only Knows are two of my top favourite romcoms.
Also, this needs an anime.
(There's already a great promo PV of it on youtube though).

As Jason Thompson from ANN said, "it's a fun, funny, and surprisingly clever magical rom-com".
I agree COMPLETELY.
(As a consequence of reading his ANN article, I just realized Crunchyroll has a new manga service, with Yamada-kun to 7-nin no Majo as one of its titles. The killer here is that their titles are SIMULTANEOUSLY RELEASED SAME TIME AS JAPAN.
They are 5-6 chapters ahead of what Mahou-x & Mangaholic are offering as of this writing...So I'm extremely tempted to subscribe there now.)

Fun ride

First quarter of the series is a pretty unique mystery set up, middle parts are a mix of her previous Yankee-kun series with life consoling/problem solving, last part is kinda a weak final drama that does try to tie up a lot of loose ends. Over all series is fun and funny. Lots of antics and jokes, and some recurring themes as well. Characters, even newly introduced ones late in the series are fairly fleshed out I would say and all pretty likable.(as far as from reader to character goes) Theres a serious over abundance of fanservice and bl fanservice in the series. Ending left something to be desired

Standard move away, come back, reconcile, get married

Again a fun ride and maybe because I'm a bit older now but these longer series take a bit out of me... like I've lost something, but not bad just really bittersweet.

Edit: The art kinda has a stronger fairy-tail look to it than yankee kun oddly enough(she worked under Mashima)

The story almost follow same recipe as YM with a sprinkle of magic, but soon it is clear that it is far superior than YM, as there's another clear goal instead of save everyone. Also unlike YM the filler is fun to read and really serve as a break to more complicated story, the joke also more fun, and unlike YM it also doesn't abuse the same cliche or scenario over and over, so I never got bored when reading, the author also goes above and beyond with the ending, cutting loose all the string, making it a very satisfying ending.

If you like YM then make sure you read this.

When the series first started it didn't grab me and fresh off Y&M(disappointed at the ending), I wasn't giving it a chance. It seemed like they went on forever before getting to the point about other witches(I stopped before it got that far). I finally watched the anime and then picked up on the manga. I love how the story perfectly balanced several genres at once (romance, school life, supernatural, and even the harem elements). The plethora of new characters could come off annoying in most series but here they all have something to give to the story, are all interesting and not just an exercise in character design. Harem stories usually bore me but here I feel like it's not the main draw

and the two leads are firmly a couple with great chemistry and affection
. I feel like the creator took some of the best elements from Y&M and made up for mistakes in that series and created something really great here.

This didn´t use to be ecchi / harem crap but now it is

The series had a fine first arc about the said witches and reached a clear ending point which is surprising as the authors previous work was lame. Then the manga went on cuZ of money and committed suicide to become a ecchi harem shell of it´s former self. The new anime should go for that ending point and i could thus recommend that version. You know now when to stop or if you should even start.
I went on for a few more volumes after the original arc but only sleep inducing nudity, sexual harassment and an unmoving romance subplot showed up BUT no humor, narrative or purpose were to be found so i dropped it about a year ago and will only read the last chapter of which i expect nothing. Flying Witch (8/10) / Ran to Haiiro no Sekai (8,5/10) are good modern manga about witches and the classic Angel Densetsu (10/10) is a perfect high-school comedy. Sayonara Zetsubou-Sensei (9/10) is lastly the final word on harem.

A bit like Ranma 1/2.

This is a pretty great rom-com. The kissing scenes could have been handled distastefully by a lesser author, but this one is completely up to the task. (One of my highlights: while experimenting on Yamada's power, he's told "keep your lips moist" because he'll have to kiss so much...)

And while the story is harem-based, that part is done well, too. Reminds me of Ranma 1/2, in a good way.

All that said, the story took a weird turn after roughly chapter 66, and the tone shifted quite a bit. It's still good, but it's been dragging quite a bit and I really miss the constant body-switching shenanigans =(.
