Maeda Hachibei is unlike most guys, who lust after gorgeous girls. This pervert lusts after their discrete parts, instead. When he moves to Tokyo to attend school, he finds himself living in a dormitory with five girls, each of which possesses one of the ideal physical features he desires: gorgeous blue eyes, bullet-train breasts, a deep dulcet voice, straight “anime-esque” legs, or a waistline shaped like fine Japanese pottery. How can he manage to keep his wits when surrounded by these women? If you think this sounds like a Love Hina clone, you wouldn’t be entirely incorrect… but Hachibei isn’t Keitaro.

Includes a oneshot in Vol.12: "The Boy Who Heard Too Much".

MUST READ for HAREM fans!!!
Rating: 10.0 / 10.0

The first mangas I read were once that had really good art such as Deathnote, UxU, 07-Ghost... So I hesitated to read this manga at first, having seen the cover art. When I ran out of chapters in UxU(Unbalance x Unbalance, another must read for Harem fans!) I started looking for more Ecchi manga.

I finally came across this one and I don't regret it one bit! Extremely funny! Although unrealistic a lot of times as pointed out by some users(Ankles-less legs and stuff... XD ).

Often being compared to Love Hina for a good reason. Here are some of which I found:

- Hachibei gets beaten up by the girls often, but not as often as Keitaro
- Hachibei possibly has the same stamina as Keitaro
- presence of a hardcore drinker girl in the apartment
- The humor is just brilliant! Not the typical "accidentally trips on a girl" humor you'll see in most ecchi series. Expected the unexpected every chapter!

- Hachibei has some sudden gusts of strength when the girls get harassed.
- The fetish...
- All girls are relatively normal (No weirdos like Kaora Su or Mutsumi ).
- So far, there are more dramatic moments in Love Hina or at least, the dramatic moments in Love hina were more memorable.

Another brilliant manga from Inoue. Better character development than Midori no Hibi and humor is just as good; possibly better! This is easily one of my favorite mangas but I wouldn't recommend it to non-harem fans. ^^,

I can't wait for the last chapter! And I really expect the last volume to be great, having finished Midori no Hibi...

epic lulz.

Will finish review once I've finished reading. There is just too much lolol going on I can't even grade. But I really do enjoy the few sweet moments that happen. But romance aside, this manga has me lololing for a good 5 minutes and I like this reformed idea of harem.
Because instead of having a indecisive guy with over 9000 girls on him, we have a manly man loving his fetish to the max that just happened to fall onto the girls around him.

this is the most stereotypical harem/ecchi manga i have ever read. how i can define stereotypical, i have no idea.
this is not really worth your time. i read it cuz i was bored and i hate to drop a manga so i have kept it up. the humor is better than most harem manga but the plot is nonexistant and for the most part, i have no idea what is going on from chapter to chapter

This is my favorite harem manga so far. Yes, Hachibe's perversion is at an extreamely high level, but he isnt a scary and daring pervert, but a funny one. Also, it is nothing like Love Hina. Im guessing just cause he lives with girls at a dormitory, people think its the same. Its not, there are so many differences, and i think hachibe is a lot cooler than keitaro.

Oh and u should read this. Best harem manga alive.

Though this manga is similar to Love Hina it has its diffrences. Like Hichibei's super human mode and the fetish sub plot. It is a improved version of Love Hina and it doesn't have Ichigo 100% problem of having a terrible ending (Ichigo 100% is similar to I''s). Though just so everyone knows though the manga was supossed to end IT IS NOW STARTING UP AGAIN AND I AM VERY HAPPY. THANKS INOUE KAZUROU!!!!!!!!!!!

LOL LARGE amount similiarities with love hina??

-First of all, as a fanboy, this manga is funny, there are some hilarious moment.

-The concept is very original and its the first time i have read a manga that focuses on "Part" fetishes. Oh man japanese people are so creative in an odd way lol.

-Male lead and other male characters mostly are the major element of the comedy due to their "fetishism" and girls are the victim here, of course not in a negative way but as a humour, although i still dont get what japanese people are thinking lol.

- I've been trying so hard to compare this with love hina that i had to re-read love hina and still i dont see any LARGE similiarties. The only thing they share is the harem genre nothing more nothing less story-wise, comedy material and characters.

Overall, fanboys who is into this genre will like it. For fangirls, lol i dont knw what to say. My girl friends commented this manga is definitely for boys because they were disgusted and said extreme fetishism people like that are very scary and should not exists and must be eliminated LOL but they do admitted that this manga is funny but it also gives them the creeps.

Well, I picked this one up somewhere along the line. It is surprisingly good for the concept, however, as the comments and summary dictate, Hachibei IS a GIGANTIC pervert. It's at a scary level of perversion. However, for you ecchi liking men out there, it's good. The relationship with the main female lead DOES tone down some of the perversion. But, as was also said, it shares a LARGE amount of similarities with Love Hina. I would not recommend this to someone unless I knew they would like it. This is NOT a must read. It's no classic.

Although this story is indeed different as the main character actually attempts to get girls, the similarites between this and Love Hina are too numerous.

This is the greatest harem for its crazy comedy and passionate protagonist. He is the only protagonist that actually goes full force after the girls. While at first he is just an insane pervert, he becomes more understanding about love. The ecchi isn't as good as To-Love-Ru, but it is enough to make you excited. The chapters are pretty disconnected and there are no huge arcs, but almost every chapter has a significant purpose even if it is vague. Definitely read if you like Midori no Hibi.
