Power of dreams

I haven't finished the series yet so my opinion may change.

Thus far, however, this has been the best manga I have ever read. I love all the characters; even the bad guys because they have believable, human characterization. The story is very touching and quite sad, but at the same time constant humor is found. All the fantasy elements are intriguing and creative.
To top that all off: the art is just AMAZING.

I just love love love it.

The Good:
The art of course is wonderful as to expect of any Clamp manga. The story twisted and turned still Clamp's signiture as well. I felt this manga held my intrest at first it was bright(not to over the top happy fluffy) to dark and acidy the mood matching the atmosphere. I felt that the characters background where layouted out perfectly so that you understood where each character came from.

The Bad:
As with any Clamp hard to understand and follow at some points. I felt that the ending was rushed and could have been longer or better plotted out compared to how well the rest was thought out.

This manga has plenty of action of action lovers. A good bit of romance. I would recommend to any regulars in manga as an intresting manga worth time.

Early on, this was a relatively fun/light read. Then it became very dark and confusing. Pretty much all the humor from the early chapters was gone past the first half of the series; replaced by buckets of blood and fire. By three quarters, I was pretty much lost. By the end they threw one wierd twist after another so fast I just wanted it to finish already. The funny thing is while this went down hill, XXXholic actually got better and better. Still confusing but not nearly as chaotic as Tsubasa Chronicles. Honestly, if I had to read Tsubasa Chronicles as a stand alone, I'd have quit half way through.

Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle has gotta be the most page-turning, epic, beautiful series I've ever read. The art is just great, and you can see the effort put into each panel and expression. Every single word and action is thought out to the last detail, and things you weren't expecting are gonna pop up again several volumes later.
If you're expecting all the fluffy cheerfulness of Cardcaptor Sakura, which contains the original counter-parts of the main characters Syaoran and Sakura... don't. It's fairly happy and cheerful up to about volume 15... if you still want your fluff, you're not gonna get it.
The amount of layers on each character is incredible, especially Fay D. Flourite (My all time favourite character) who turns out to be nothing like he first appeared. There's the unexpected everywhere, which includes clones, vampires, bloody battles and other.
It seems to have a shojo theme for a while, but believe me, wait 'til you're past at least volume 10... you won't be saying the same thing. The story gets darker every volume, and you keep your eye out for every odd little action that will have significance later on. Hint: Look out for panels which feature a glance from one of the characters, or panels which seem rather pointless... they're anything BUT pointless.

These series are well done and at the beginning I liked them a lot. But the story tends to get repetitive, and I also hate the invulnerability of the characters. They can do anything and after that lose in an unavoidable way. This one is a typical clamp story that could have a better storyline.

Lately the story improves when all the hidden truths start to be shown, and everything begins to make sense. The buid-up is quite large and the story starts to work, thanks to the mental development of the characters. Quite an improvement :-)

The story is so cliche, and CLAMP keeps f'ing reusing characters from their other series. That's so juvenile. Seeing characters from X, xxxHolic, Chobits, etc. Ugh. The story is very overused and quite boring.

Story: I picked it up thinking it would be cutesy and a quick read, then it went deeper halfway in and I fell in love with it. I actually got into this one enough that I could feel something for most of, if not all the characters. Yes it gets confusing at the end, but its really not that bad if you actually pay attention to it so I don't think it deserves these insanely low rating just because some people didn't understand it. I respect that, but that doesnt make it bad.

What really amazed me about the story, was its the first manga I came across that really used subtly. I can reread this countless times and pick something new up every time. Even the portions that seem unexplained make a lot more sense when you look back and go "oh so thats where that came from."

Characters: They may not be so original, but a cliche used well isnt always bad. All of them are charming in their own way. Clamp did wonderfully fleshing out the characters. As much as I hated Syaoran and Kurogane at first because they seemed so typical, the backstory is well done enough that Kurogane has become my favorite, and Syaoran is bearable.

Art: Love the style of it and there were many beautiful scenes, its not without imperfections but it keeps me captivated and still loving it after 200 chapters. I love how they put a lot of thought and work into the design side of things. They made sure the clothing fit into the setting so the scenes actually had a cohesiveness to them. As I mentioned above, there is subtleness to this manga, and Clamp succeeds in showing this in the characters faces, many times you can tell what a character is feeling not due to dialogue but purely because of the look in their eyes.

Overall. brilliant, it definitely becomes a 13+ around the middle, but I don't think you have a chance of grasping the story at the end if you are under 16. This contained enough fluff to be enjoyable, but if you are reading for just a cute story, I suggest going elsewhere.

Tsubasa Chronicle has been my favorite anime since I first saw it in 2005. Fai and Kuro-puu were a big part of this, and later on I decided to read the manga when I figured the anime would likely not ever finish the story.

I somewhat suspected already
Spoiler (highlight to view)
Syaoran might have a clone
in the first season since I caught the hints in the anime. Though
Spoiler (highlight to view)
Sakura being a clone
was what surprised me more.

I really loved the added drunk scene in Outo, which I was sad never appeared in the anime since that would've been fun to see. ^^

Ahem, anyway, some of the twists thrown into the latter part of the story could have been a bit more gradual than they were. They eventually threw in so much, you didn't necessarily understand all the information thrown at you since it came so fast.

To sum it up, I really enjoyed this manga. So far this is the only work of CLAMP I have thoroughly enjoyed over and over. I'd give it a higher rating, but there was a lot of confusion further into the story that just made it difficult for me to follow along with all the history and family lineage.
