Teased unmercifully for his past as an orphan and a slave, Teito has only his best friend Mikage to ease his days at the elite Barsburg Academy - and his mastery of the magical art of Zaiphon! But even that will not be enough to save him when he discovers a horrifying secret behind the ruling Empire. Trapped in an ancient battle between a wicked Death God and the Seven Ghosts and guided by three mysterious priests, Teito discovers a power that could save the world... and shed light on his own mysterious past.

07-Ghost was the first manga to touch my heart so deeply. At the time I read it, I thought that Naruto was the only series to put friendship over everything, but 07-Ghost does it in a way that will somehow always bring tears to your eyes. I recommend 07-Ghost for the depth in emotions and to those fujioshi fans who like bishounen, because in the end, 07-Ghost touches your heart, if not a lot, but a little^__^

I started looking up this series after reading all the positive reviews down here. As many recommended I jumped to the anime and I have to say: READ THE MANGA!
One of the earlier reviewers said that the anime follows the storyline of the manga chapter by chapter ---> False!!! The episodes I have watched are plain fillers.
Sure I understand that the battles are a lot clearer in the anime (which in itself is not bad) but story-wise the two cannot even be compared. To elaborate, I find that the anime stretches the story to such an extent that it almost becomes ridiculous:

Spoiler (highlight to view)
For example, at the beginning, in both the anime and the manga, Mikage comes to find Teito in the church where he is being sheltered; it looks too easy but in the manga, we soon come to understand "what" he really is and why he is talking as if he will soon disappear. Soon means soon in the manga whereas the anime pushes things away for so many episodes.

The complexity of the story is a lot more salient in the manga so I really recommend it to anyone with an interest in the series, who prefers more challenging entertainment.

Having said that, I have just recently started reading it but I can say that so far the storyline is complex enough to hold the interest, the characters are all cool, very likeable (I even like the bad guy's crew), and the art is very nice

I just finished watching the anime.
Just like others reviewers, I fell in love at first sight. The art is really really good. I love it. (not in the same way I love CLAMP's art, of course.)
Anyways, the first episode got me addicted right away. I finished 25 episodes in 2 days. It was a rough ride, but an amazing experience.
I'm going to read the manga right now. I expect it to be as good, if not better than the anime.

I just finished watching the anime and it was AMAZING. The plot line was pretty good and I FREAKING LOVE FRAU (haha what a bishie). I also love Mikage but not in the same way as my fangirl love for Frau (heh...) I got to love Mikage through the eyes of Teito and he became a character that was close to my heart (I became very emotional at the parts including him). I really could understand each of their feelings and why they acted the way they did. In general, I really connected with this anime which is rare for me. I'm usually the one thinking "THAT'S SO STUPID AND WOULD NEVER ACTUALLY HAPPEN D:<"
ANYWAYS, I am off to read the manga. I bet it is going to be just as spectacular as the anime smile YOU SHOULD READ IT TOO!

I know 07 ghost from anime. When i watched the1st eps, i'm directly falling love for this anime. Gosh... i Love It.The story line per eps in anime was same as per chp in manga, until eps 24 the story was different with manga. In anime, Ayanami has already come to the church to attack teito, while in manga teito along with Frau start the journey to find the Land of Leele. I prefer the anime compared with the mangas. Because in anime you can see more clearly the fight scene and more beautiful. he..he.. But if you curious about the next scene, well u have to read the manga of course. smile I've watch and read it, I really really luv it. Give big 10.....

I read first chapter and fall in love within an instant.
I watched the anime, personally I love every minute. I love the saspen, the mystery, the comedy and even the emotional part. Well, even though there's no SHOUNEN-AI genre, I supposed relationship between Teito and Mikage is further than best friend smile

Omg, I love this anime. Gonna read the manga so soon! <3

by the way, 10/10 <-- over rated? Well, it supposed to be!

i read this a long time ago when it was still being translated by timcanpi. i had droped this manga because of the slow translation from following the site for 2 years lolz. after i started watching the anime when it started airing i became atached to the anime, so i dicided to try reading the manga agian. to my saprize it was fast pace in the begining(mabie thats a reason why i droped it), but then it started to become realy interesting. so i do say that people to try reading this to a certain point to volume 2 even if you dont like it in the begging. i think the manga is way better than the anime, i think the anime would of of done much much better if they concluded the anime differently.

my reason for likeing this manga so much might be in the part where the story is something that i myself would write and have an intrest in, but its not fully the reason, the manga dose have a uniqueness that i cant quite put my fingers on (adding the part i am bad at explaining stuff)

I think I just read this manga for Bishop Frau. His gaze pierces the very depth of my soul. -insert fangirl sigh here-
Moving along, this manga is actually very well drawn with feminine touches which attracts both genders. The fighting is actually scarce, but very elegant. Although the whole "battle with words" theme reminds me of Loveless, one can insist that fighting in 07 Ghost is 100% original.
...And did I mention that Frau is a very bishie character?
Oh yes, the anime has more... Slashable (almost questionably fanservice) moments between Teito and Frau, so all you fangirls who love shounen ai should definitely check it out. (Especially episode 16.)

I am really enjoying this series so far. While I am not a fan of the groups fonts at times, the actual manga is pretty good.
I almost always avoid stuff that might be guy/guy or girl/girl because it is done without any taste, and it is ... well bad. Here though, whatever the connotations might be between the main character and the others, while it might be deeper it does seem more of a really strong family/brother type connection. Even if it is deeper, it is done very well and holds a lot of meaning.

Overall: Nicely done so far, and I can't wait to read further into the series. smile

Also, stop giving it a 10 because you saw the anime!! This is a Manga site, not an anime site. If you want to review the anime, then go to the proper site. Stop messing up the scores here!

Every chapter is full of suspense and you can see growth in Teito as the story progresses. There are many antagonists in this series, but there's always the ultimate one behind the many. The art is gorgeous and the story line is very.. "exhilerating?" You can't help but want to know what is going to happen next.
