From Karma Falls Scanslations:
Mei Tachibana has spent her 16 years without making either boyfriend or friends. One day, she drop-kicks a popular boy in school, Yamato Kurosawa, because of a misunderstanding but for some reason it seems that he takes a liking to her and one-sidedly claims that they're friends.

There is character development. GASP!!! Mei is a really lovable character, I enjoyed following her grow as a person. its a nice series I don't think you should feel turn off from reading the other reviews. I understand why some people say that they find the series gets really tedious as they continue, but that is mostly true if you have been sticking with the series for a while. I read volume 1 to 8 in one go, I felt that it was really cute. Currently there are 10 -11 volumes available should you feel to annoyed with the support character stories then skip them.
Totes Amazeballs (hahaha)
I love this series. And it's seriously not being scanalated fast enough sigh
I love the art, the story and the characters. Mostly I love how Yamato loves Mei. They have their ups and downs, but in the end they still remember what's important to them.
the main good point of this manga is that the two main characters are waiting to have sex with eachother because they cherish one anouther. especially with a lot of peer pressure and sleezy friends. the main character is learning how to be in love and have friends. the main guy is a typical school prince/model. (you know the basics haha)
there are some smutty scenes with side characters, but its not like hard core or anything. its a nice read over all.
I love this manga. It's truly one of my favorite mangas. Plot is great! It's not fast, not too slow. Just right. The messages in the story is really cute, but realistic. Perfect. This manga really gets you in to the story. I love Mei, she is really adorable. Yamato's a hottie. But I think he could be considerate of Mei a little bit more, you know? (: Art is great. It's not too flashy, not too plain. Love it (:
I seriously love this manga very much! It's really a very cute series, the art is good too ^^ I would definitely recommend it

Though at first I thought it was abit smutty, but not that on the middle. :)
So far, so good!
I'm up to chapter four in this series, and since I've liked it so much, I have to comment! Well, you know, it IS a shoujo, so there are cliches and those little generic moments. But other than that, this manga is awesome. It just is. It portrays high school/ previous middle school feelings and situations pretty spot on and realistically, unlike many shoujos. The characters are loveable and unique. The heroine ain't no pushover but she has weak spots and the main guy isn't some super shoujo guy who is "perfect-in-every-way-and-has-no-flaw-except-for-his-deep-love-for-the-heroine" type. He's got his flaws too. I haven't gotten to the smutty parts yet, but from what other people here have said, it adds to the story and relationship. So! A must read for anyone who is looking for some good readin'. Oh, and it's pretty funny too. So, read Say I Love You, and fall in love too! (So corny. I know.) P.S. I think Mei, the main character, isn't plain at all! She's not over the top pretty, but she's really cute and has a style that she rocks.
This shoujo is extremely realistically cute. I mean, there are a lot of cute shoujos out there, but this one is cute in a different way in that the main girl is so honest and blunt, not wanting friends because she's hurt from past memories but being completely logical about it, which most heroines in shoujo are totally not, keeping his cell phone number when given but still stubborn in not wanting to call him and i love her swimsuit, it totally matches her personality. i don't think it's unrealistic at all; i remember this one girl in middle girl who didn't speak at all really, i remember her saying like two words and she was constantly teased, it's like there was this contest to see who could make her speak the longest sentence or get the most reaction from her face. actually, thinking about it, it was fun to watch her expressions.
it's really cute and i love the main guy because you know who he was before, he wasn't always hot and popular, he was short and a total loser who couldn't stand up for his best friend; he's not perfect and it makes him more endearing and human, unlike most heroes who most mangakas try to make "perfect". and what's even more endearing about the main hero is that he's interested in the main girl because she's blunt. the simple fact that he's interested in her because of this quality makes me realize that he enjoys honesty, values and admires this quality because he knows how much people lie to others and to themselves, including himself. he admires this characteristic because he knows he doesn't have it completely, but he wants it so much; he undervalues himself and this reveals a vulnerable trait that not a lot of other heroes have. he's vulnerable but he hides it well, unlike the main girl, who we know is vulnerable and sensitive and is open about it. he's a character that's deeper than most heroes that are just too "cool" that always keep their cool image or try to.
definitely an awesome and cute read! 10/10
this is a good one! seems cliché and i guess it is, but the main character is like.. normal... aka not a ditz, not a clutz, not all cutesy. she's blunt & anti-social and yeah. it's good. read it
I had thought that this manga is already finished. When completed the first 4 volumes that I saw that is still ongoing... But about the manga ... The art is kinda good, being started in 2008. But nothing suprising. The story is refreshing in a way that it is not cliche. And not predictable at all. I like that not every character stays in the story some goes and comes. So the story telling is good. Of course the main idea nothing special. But the mangaka tells in a way that makes it special.
Keep waiting for where will it go the story...
Unpredictable (in a good way)
I started this not knowing if I'd like it or not. It starts off pretty angsty, but I'm glad that I continued. This manga deals with pretty serious issues such as self-esteem and self-image. This is for more mature audiences... and it makes you think about issues that are happening here and now. The art is pretty simple and clean and rather grows on you (at least for me).
@tartufo: kudos to your comment! It was because of you that I started reading this! I thank you!
