Very cliched story but reading for 3 reasons, the prince is just too charming and fun loving and good looking, i like the butler's impassiveness, very amusing and finally, the dialogues are good n jokes r funny

For the most part is was a very enjoyable and fun read (it helps that the prince was drawn very niecely). During the end though I dealt like her feeling started to get pretty annoying and it seemed to drag on for me a little bit there.

a girl that's going to collage for history/science major is obsessed with wanting to write an thesis on the grandmother of a prince that has landed in Japan and is going to the same university as her... She finds a way to talk with him but he ends up being a big pervert for her boobs.. She pretty much shuts him down which sparks his thrive to get her even more.. During this time Ends up getting too much attention from the public eye and situations make her have to go home to her mothers.. Her mother owns a high class old shool (hotel) and wants her to take over.. Which is the main opposition for her.. Eventually the prince and her have sex and from there they slowly become a couple.. But she is always at odds and ends about being with him and his feelings for her.. In the end they get married and have a baby.

Yes, it's a parody of most romantic cliches in the world but I found myself grinning all the while. If you're into heavy drama and intensely mysterious male protagonists, you're not going to like it. But if you think a silly, naughty and childish guy is cuter, go for it. The weird thing is my mind keeps thinking of Ouran Host Club's Tamaki while reading this, which is a silly yet weirdly fitting daydream.

Story was cliched but dre was some good moments in dis manga, some really good moments. Ending was predictable. Some parts were unrealistic. Artowork was good. Didnt really like the heroine Miyako, especially her clothing choice. Some really funny parts as well.

I thought it was going to be another one of those so called 'shallow' reads, considering the genre, and how most of the smut genre can tend to be light reads. I don't know exactly what it was about this story that finally captured me in the second volume, but somehow it was torture, having to wait to know what was going to happen next. Now it's not to say that this series isn't realistic, it is a worthwhile read, for both it's sweetness and frankness.

Cliche ridden and far from being great, but still enoyable

The artwork is top notch (definitely 10/10) but the story is VERY cliched and VERY predictable - and getting more and more predictable as it progresses. 6/10 at the very best. The ending made me yawn as it is overly cliched. Painfully cliched...

Also, I totally agree with one of the previous reviewers that Miyako (unlike the prince) lacks any character development. She seems to learn nothing throughout the story - keeps running round in circles and being a crybaby. Granted, the latter is kinda cute...but being overused by the author IMO, overused to the point of being annoying. Because of all that, I came to like Chiri (Miyako's friend, one of the supporting characters) more than Miyako herself. Don't get me wrong, I always enjoy the bookworm/nerd type characters but this one was way too plain and boring even for your typical bookworm/nerd. Chiri is much more interesting - I wish there would be more of her in the story.

But despite the above, this manga is surprisingly enjoyable so I do recommend it to anyone who wants a sweet, funny, beautifully drawn story and is not allergic to cliches.

This manga started off rather well and ended amazing! I love how they go through so much for their love and not give up. I think Miyako is rather pretty as well and off course Will is a hunk ^_^

Story- 10/10
Art- 10/10 (the art is amazing)
Development- 10/10
Ending- amazing.

-- Highly Recommended! You'll seriously miss out on a great manga if you skip it

Rented this in chinese from the neighborhood manga shop last year. Oh, i can't really read chinese. Yet, i absolutely adored this so much that it spurred me to practice reading more chinese. Private Prince is my no.1 tie-in fav manga besides Absolute Boyfriend. Btw, i personally feel both Private Prince and Absolute Boyfriend should be classified shoujo instead of josei ... perhaps due to it's cuteness.

This series really kept me guessing until the end! It is full of interesting plot twists and leaves you wanting to read the next volume! The characters are exactly what you would expect them to be. The prince is charming (Or so it seems!), and the princess to be is a bit of a clueless girl, but never the less cute. The comedy is well placed and contrasts with the drama nicely. The smut scenes are also well placed and drawn. Overall a very good series with my only complaints being that it could have been longer and some of the characters are too static.

Alright... I have been laying off shoujo manga coz of the oversaturated plots that seem too similar... but after a long hiatus from this genre, somehow this one seems rather readable (despite the overused cinderella plot)... and some parts are REALLY somewhat funny...
From someone who's really picky, it can be seen as a rather good read... not too bad if you ask me... smile
