Katsuragi Keima is known on the net as the god of getting the girls while in real life he’s known as otamegane and he hates all real girls. However he is approached by Elsie, a devil from hell, to help her in catching runaway spirits that hide in people. Apparently the spirits only hide in the hearts of girls and the only way to get the souls out is by making the girl fall in love so the spirit gets forced out. And he’s not allowed to fail or he will lose his head.

Fantastic Manga but....
Yes i agree with the people that either like, love or adore the manga.Haven't got a chance to watch the anime, but will try too. I caught up with the manga and am currently waiting for the next chapter. So far the manga is on my favorites list. Also the only reason i gave the manga a nine and not a ten is because the story has almost nothing to do with elsie, and shes the main herione!! I didnt say all i said almost. I know she was the reason or one of the reasons Keima (may boy character) started conquering girls and got involved with all the devil/goddess stuff, but after that its like she was just a side character even though she lived with Keima and kinda helped him conquer the girls. All through the story i was expecting her to show some amazing power or something like that but she didnt): Well the series is not over so maybe she'll be more like the main girl character later on......(hopefully)
Purely for the girl capture
I have read alot of shoujo and shonen and I must say this series amused me to no end, I loved the premise and I fell in love with not only elsie and keima but also the girls he captures. I don't recommend reading this for it's main plot because I feel the demonworld-humanworld politics/drama has been done so much better in other series. I felt that the capture arcs made this series fresh unique and fun, you will not be disappointed.
The best harem!
Oh my god, this is the best manga ever!! I like the main character, Keima! He is an interesting and funny guy! so far, i've never found a guy who likes game characters more then real ones xD Elsee is just too cute! she is clumsy and very very cute! I also like almost all the other characters!
I like plot! only a genius like Wakaki Tamiki can make mangas like this! Anyway, there is no word to describe how much awesome this manga is!
I give it a 10/10! Highly recommended!!! Also, am i the only one who gets jealous when Keima kisses the girls? xD I cant sleep at night because of that!!!
The concept is simply brilliant, and so far the plot isn't deteriorating. Keima is the "god of conquest": he's a master at playing galgames. To save his life, he now has to cooperate with Elsee to catch runaway spirits.. by filling the emptiness in girls' hearts by making them fall in love with him. So basically, he now captures "3D girls". It's an awesome manga, highly recommended. You can watch the anime first, but the manga goes a little more in-depth, so it's definitely worth rereading those chapters if you have the time.
Edit: volume 12 and 13 are absolutely awesome. They are thrilling, keep you at edge; and there's so much hilarious and genious stuff happening. I really hope the series will continue at this pace and quality.

I picked this series up 3 days ago and between working a full time job and little rest, I've managed to finally catch up and begin the anime! (it really is that good) This series is powerfully addicting if you enjoy romance, a strong protagonist, lots of girls, and storyline that constantly moves forward. Keima Katsuragi is a cold-hearted tactical dating-genius. He can "see the ending" to a kiss but when it comes to understanding feelings - he really sucks. He easily gets caught up in the moment and before realizing it, he doesn't know how to handle love. Reading this series really brings back memories.. start reading this now if you've ever fallen in love, or haven't because you just might learn a thing or two. [currently ch. 167]
Shounen Romance Needs Nothing Else
I can't believe I haven't commented on this series yet, it is one of my all-time favorite manga. Every time I read another shounen romance manga, I only end up thinking "why can't this be more like TWGOK?" It is a series that subverts all other shounen romance tropes and then plays them straight to show them how it's done. Not to the mention the main character is freaking awesome. Anyways, if I had to decide on a flaw of this series, it might be how convoluted the main plot becomes. Part of me would be ok with just having a new girl to conquer every once in a while but part of me is glad that this series actually has an overarching plot.
great ! but...
I love it. It's one of my absolute favourites. The story is well-thought, and although it has its bad points(none is perfect), it kept me entertained. also, those fucking cliff-hangers... whoa, this manga may well contain the worst cliff-hangers I've seen. well, anyway, I love it, but looking at the comments It seems, you either love it, adore it, hate it or find it boring. so, it's totally worth the try =)
Beware the cliffhangers.
It is pretty tough to make a uniquely dysfunctional character nowadays, especially in manga where every other character is a freak but somehow Keima stands out as one in a class of its own. This series pretty much rides on his messed up way of life and how he refuses to deviate or apologize for it.
The stories have been carried solidly by him for well over a hundred chapters now and they are still going on strong. The story arcs have become longer and longer and with that comes more and more cliffhangers driving more than a few readers into rages and face palm moments. This has not stagnated the story though as a lot of plot development has been built at a steady pace as a result.
In the end the God of games became human. .
This is godlike!!! i cant believe i forgot to make a comment for this. . TWGOK i cant even begin to describe how good it is. . the mangaka is so good at making cliffhangers that makes you want to read more and beg for more. . seriously i recommend this to everyone! read it and be amazed! it will always put a smile on your face. . =)
edit: this was one of the few manga that i really loved. . the characters were lovable, the plot was fairly simple. . Make girls fall in love then make them forget about it. . lol. . at some point it peaked during the goddess arc. . then slowly took a nose dive. . heart of jupiter arc was pointless and incoherent that it made the series fall from grace. . the author built a good foundation of story and characters only to finish it with an unsatisfying and weak ending. . during the last chapters keima lost his character and personality that made him unique as a protagonist. . I would have been okay with an open ending as long as the author could have finish all the loose plot holes. . And from my point of view.. . if keima was truly the god of games, he should have found a way to make everyone happy. . and not just one. .

My current favourite.
Please do not read the premise of this series and get put off immediately. It is far better than it originally looks.
I love this series. It is one of the few that actually makes me laugh. Sure, it starts out a bit repetitive, with the new girl, charm, capture, repeat cycle but later it starts to develop into a more "proper" plot. You'll be surprised how much the older parts come into play.
I will however say this appears to be one that is best read weekly. Reading it in large blocks (which I had to do for the first few captures until I caught up) kinda drains the humour a little bit. However it is still great to read, and the later chapters ( starting around 54, when tenri comes in) leave you begging for more every week..
I just love this series, it's a lovely laugh every week. It's the only one I really miss when the magazines go on a break.
