It's the year 2020 AD, and Tokyo II is a city infested with crime. Women can no longer go out in the streets alone without being victimized. Not wanting their daughter to suffer the same fate, Tsukasa Kozuki's cop parents raise her as a boy. When they are suddenly killed by one of the yakuza's in-fights, Tsukasa is left orphaned on the streets along with her three brothers.

With no other options, she goes to the only person she can think of for help: pokerface Ryuji Shirogami, her classmate of 8 years and also the head leader of the powerful yakuza group, Kuryugumi. Ryuji, whose father was also a victim of the same yakuza fight, agrees to take her on as his personal bodyguard. As they set out to find their enemy, Ryuji slaps an increasing amount of debt onto Tsukasa, using all manner of ploys to keep the reluctant Tsukasa by his side.

I don't like this manga. It's too typical and... disappointing to me cause I expected so much more in Nakamura Yoshiko sad Maybe I've been liking Skip Beat a little bit too much that I FORCED myself to finish this series even though my head was always screaming: noooooooo... you're poisoning yourself!

But well, good riddance!

Or maybe, it was the TRANSLATION which was SO BAD in so many levels that got me disliking this series that many people here voted for 10/10 o_0

I loved this story ans cried when one of my favorite characters died
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
I also love strong female leads instead of the weak always crying for no reason ones. If you like a great story then this is the manga for you! The drawings are really well done too! I give this a 10/10 but I kinda wanted to see what Ryuji and Tsukasa are like after their married and have kids and such. (Im glad that i didnt stop reading this when i thought it was going to be boring also I think that the main characters should have been a little older than 14 more like 17 or 18 would have been better)

Love how the female Lead is a bad ass character, and sexual tension is very intense w/o the act itself. Overall I give this story a perfect 10, because of the non repetitive plot and the great character developement.

This series is great but it's sad that there were some pages that weren't translated in most of the chapters. I also didn't like the fact that she was naked more than enough times. Other than that, this series is great and I highly recommend it!

I loved every single bit of it. I think Yoshiki Nakamura is the only mangaka who has delivered brilliant stories that I believe make manga such an art. The story was great, the art was fantastic, and there were so many unexpected things that happened that I couldn't help but be sucked right into this imaginary world. I love all the characters. I cried with them, laughed with them, mourned over them, and enjoyed every second I spent reading it. This manga has found a place in my heart with ease.

Chapter 1 gave me a best impression. but as I kept on reading, why is it that in (mostly) every occasions she had to be saved by Ryouji? I actually found her interesting, able to fight and not so interested in girlish thing, pretty dense, and strong.
Maybe it's just me but what I find most annoying was she's always somehow naked,I dropped it at chapter 7. (auction)
It's ridiculous.
I mean,really... I had a big expectations since the rating was good, and almost everyone gave a positive review, and it's Nakamura Yoshiki's. GAH. A total disappointment for me.
The drawing gets better (skipped to chapter 109) and the story was interesting (though it's nonsense how Ryouji managed to keep on adding her debt)

I think I finished this Manga 4 times already !
It's really nice to have a strong shoujo heroine for once, and the plot, even though it sometimes goes haywire hard time, is quite good.

Just a small detail : The protagonists are supposed to be 14. I always read while imagining they're at least 4 years older, it's just plain impossible for me otherwise, especially concerning Ryuji ! '-_-

At first I was not interested in reading this manga at all, the synopsis didn't really catch my attention and the art was not that great, but I went and read it and I loved it, both the characters and the story.

I've read this many times and will probably read it again, I'm not a fan of shoujo manga but I like this one because there's action and fighting It's a very enjoyable read.
