One of the best ones I've read in awhile, sure it was a little confusing at the begining, and it also got a little repetitive later on, but it kept me reading through the night.(seriously, stayed up till 4:00!)
One other thing I didn't like about this manga is that it ended a little to early, I finished it in three days, I usually only read manga that take at least 3 weeks for me to finish, but oh well.
The ending was beautifuly done, although I was a little pissed at the same time.(I'm still trying to get over it.)
Shou is one muthafusucking Bad-Ass, everyone should be more like him.........Excluding the one-man-one kill policy, or not, whatever you feel is right, haha.
So what I'm trying to get across your minds is just read it, It'll change your life forever.

Warning: Don't read "Akumetsu" if you have a bad internet connection(like mine), 'cause you may punch random objects out of frustration when the next page doesn't load fast enough.

Is this supposed to be romance or not? I mean, that whole thing with Shiina.....it was like, "If he was someone else, this would totally be romance instead." Uh.....

Anyway, it's fairly good, I suppose. The characters are cool. I mean the ones that don't die within ten chapters of being introduced, of course. And that's the biggest problem: the main plot point is "killing people." That's most of what goes on, and after awhile it gets really old. I finished it because I wanted to see how it ended, but I was glad when it was all over.

When it ended, I can only say I sighed with disappointment. such a masterpiece ending. I can only say i wanted it to continue on forever. But, since it ended, at least they gave this manga a finish that certainly kept up to its level.
although at the start it had a, somewhat, repetitive storyline within the first volume or two to set the pace, i'm glad i stayed with it. around chapter 100 was when i think it truly changed, and for the better. the plot became thicker, the characters more explained, and true intentions emerging. best of all, this all happened whilst in a unique view of politics.
all of this was all neatly complimented by the art, making it unforgettable.

dont get me wrong, this is a good manga, but not great. it has great art (which kept me reading). it has glimpse of greatness and excellency but does not amount to its potency. all the high ratings and great comments created a very high expectation out of this manga, but it was unfortunately never met to me. good manga, not great.

PS. comparing this to death note is an insult to death note itself.

great story, bit over top but entertaining. the ending is bit depress for me cuz it just sad it ended that way. i'm just bias on the ended who wants a little more light to it, not grey.

All I can say was wow on how the manga ended. Really had my eyes sticked to the computer screen for 20 chapters.

Anyway, Akumetsu is one of those few original gems you can find in the world of manga. The story is very impressive and intelligent, it's no pyschological manga but it really makes you think. The character Shou a.k.a Akumetsu is just really awesome which makes up the flare that this story gives off. In other words, a must read for anyone who is a fan of a well put together story.

The ending volumes were kick ass, i won't forget this manga anytime soon.

it has an original storyline and a beautiful finish. i loved the whole concept of akumetsu and even though there are a little bit of explanation chapters, the ideas behind it was amazing.

the only reason it is mature is that there is a it of goriness. but there is no nudity. if youre looking for something thats action with a bit of romance, this is not it. this is more for people who want to see a superhero fix a country.

absolutely outstanding

This series is pretty good, and I want to thank the many groups over the years who worked to put this scan out. You guys did a very good job with it, and at the end the releases just left me wanting more and more and more. >_<

The art doesn't really change throughout the series, the evil people still are super-evil, and when Shou snaps.. I love how he is depicted. This series also carried a pretty impressive message, and while sometimes it was lost in the backtracking, and sudden flashbacks, it was still decent.

The reason I gave it an 8, is because it does get lost at times with flashbacks, it does get a bit repetitive at times, and a few other minor issues that the series has. I couldn't go lower though, because it sticks to the plot given until the end, and even when it appears to have jumped the shark, it all comes full circle with a hasty explanation.

Enjoy the read.
