Description
From Yen Press:

A mysterious illness is spreading rapidly through the halls of Fujimi High School. In a matter of hours, the campus is transformed from a place of learning into a hive of nightmares, as the infected students collapse and are reborn as flesh-hungry zombies! Only a handful of students escape the initial outbreak — among them Takashi Komuro and his childhood friend, Rei. He manages to protect Rei from the initial onslaught, but how long can Takashi and the other students hope to survive when the whole school – maybe the whole town — is out for their blood?!

This series is pretty nice. It contains nice artwork and a good setting. I hear it alot that people critizise the lack of background knowledge, especially on the outbreak. Actually, the author put enough in there for someone who studies biology to make sense out of it. Actually there are poisons in this world, that can create similar effects. The psychology is as realistic as hell. Every psychologist could tell you that people would act that way. Well, the bath scene maybe was only for fanservice, but laughing it off, and trying to fill your mind with nonsense is how normal, untrained people would act in the situation of those youths.

On the bad side, i have to agree that the author should have added more information, especially no the reactions of every faction of the world. Honestly, with the nuclear arsenals on this world, if any such outbreak happens, I wouldn't be surprised if the surface would have turned to ashes. Since I like the base setting I'd rather have it as a novel than a manga.

Girls, fanservice, zombies, guns, and every premise a horror/action genre can throw at you. Great for casual reading, and the character development is not that bad either, but it remains to be seen as not all the backstory of the main characters are revealed as yet.

As of this point, I feel that the progress of the group's survival and objectives are depicted too slowly, and has eroded my interest in the series.

This is an unpretentious manga. It's entertainment and nothing else; it fulfils this role admirably. Attractive girls, weapon + military fetishism, zombies, etc... all highschoolboy-level *fun*. The plot is just: zombie attack (caused by virus), group of people have to live. Fair enuff! From this I would normally grant this series a 7.5 but I raise it to 9 bcos: the characters and their interactions are relatively interesting and original (just *relatively*. considering most zombie genre I mean). The art and production values are perfect. I can't think of a single fault at all in how it looks (unless you care much about realism). And tho this technically doesn't count, the quality of the Xamayon scanlation is flawless (and they don't even ask you to register to DL! They deserve to be paid well for this work). And it has some interesting events that stand out (yes, that's vague.) So: 8.8 This is an excellent series.

it's okay i guess, bit there are some situations in there that would hav gotten them killed in real life... and there was never an explanation on how the outbreak started or even where it came from, and some of the commentors are right, if there was a zombie outbreak i doubt you would be playing with your tits and flirting, also the character with the katana is a big anime/manga clicheoverall its okay and would hav been better if there was more in the plot andif it didnt take so long to update ^_^'

resident evil world? this series take what happen to common people in japan where the virus attacked, while the squad of umbrella corp. is somewhere also handle the zombie...
the virus, get bitten, and become zombie... don't have a new idea for the story.

Hmm hmm, that one is pretty hard to judge. It has good aspects and bad aspects (exactly like every other story too). Let's begin with the bad aspects.
Suddenly there is an invasion of the dead and our protagonists react exactly like you expect them to react, they are scared and can't believe their eyes. No they don't, the react immeadiately to the situation with no fear but joy so that the reader has to assume that they were watching / playing resident evil all their lifes until now.
Since that is only concerning the beginning I think you can deal with that. The rest is relatively realistic, it even explains why a high schooler is able to handle fire arms so well (wohoo)!

Another negative aspect is the ecchiness. The apocalypse is coming, the dead are roaming the streets and the woman have to take a shower and compliment and cuddle each others tits. Well sounds good to me but that's not what you normally would do (but it would be nice if so).

Let's proceed to the good aspects. Hmm well we have our fire arms fetishist. I love that guy. He isn't walking around with a gun in each hand but he handels them quite well and realistic, nice one.
The story itself isn't what you would call boring, ok it could be better but it won't put you to sleep. In the end everyone has to decide that for oneself.
The action scenes are cleary and nice to follow, no one has super human abilities and sometimes they even react like normal humans would do.
So finally let's say if you like good action scenes don't need a LotR story and are not aversed to ecchi you will like that one.

the story focus on two things.
Violence and ecchi, and thats it.
But the violence is well done, gun fetischists get their fill as all manner of high powered firearms pops up with little or bad explanations. And as always, there are someone running around with a katana...
Some gore, but not enough to make anyone sick, and not enough for those who really love it.
If you like ecchi, you will like this. several girls running around in skirts, everyone bathes together and clothes don't go a minute without getting ripped up or wet.

the story is inane, a basic zombie plot, some teenagers trying to survive, most grownups are retarded and there are some really old and stale views on the world.
I can't help feeling i have read this before...
Some characters help it along, and many of them have entertaining mental disorders or obsessions.
So, if you want an hour of nice violence and some boobs to help it along, this is for you, but don't expect a great story.

I gave it a try because the art is gorgeous, but you know what'll happen right in the beginning of the stroy. After i read the first 3 chapter i got bored. The story is about a group of kids trying to survive by killing zombie and so on. But I guess I'll read the end of this manga when its out cause i'm curious how the zombie invasion is going to stop.

I've read up to the 4th volume, and I must say, its been one hell of a ride. The action are well done, with the drama portion mixed in just for kicks. It shows the human nature, and at the same time human will to live.

Sure, its not exactly realistic, but its a damn manga. And I'm rooting for the fat guy "I'm the baddest motherf***** here". Damn awesome.

This manga won't satisfy hardcore horror fans. It's not really all that gory or scary. The focus is on story and characters, which is pretty good for this genre. What stands out most is definitely the art. It wouldn't surprise me if the artist took lessons from Masamune Shirow.
