Description
Taken from Solaris-svu: Ikuru is a boy who doesn't have long to live. Growing up questioning the purpose of his life and the reason for his impending death, he's constantly confused and lonely. After learning that he doesn't have much time left, he requests that a special "girl" called a AGH-RMS (Artificial Genes Human Regenerated for Mental Support) be given to him. These people are genetically made so that they help heal and ease the mental burdens of the terminally ill.
This manga is cute, sad, and ultimately a story about life, death, and humanity.
..not that much plot (ok, so i'm actually on the 2nd vol), and i don't mean it's pointless BS, but that it's not filled with action.
the way the feelings are portrayed, like childish love but so-so real. i don't think i want to read it to the end and cry for i know the inevitable is bound to happen.
ok, so the art is not-so my taste, but i like the kind-of diary version - today we did this, and she was this and that. it reminds me of a great book i once read. or was it a manga?
will rate it when through.
Update so i'm through. didn't cry as much as i expected. actually the bits not actually about Ai and Ikuru were kinda boring. tooo much text. seriously.
i'll give it a 8, but i don't think i'll be reading it again any time soon. still recommend it though
Really tragic, makes you realize how inescapable death really is. I loved this series alot, tragic romance of 2 people fated to die but making the best of their time and regretting nothing, truly it is something inspiring and maks you feel that you really should make the best of your life.
Nice manga... The portrayal of death is just stunning. Gave me goosebumps though(not that its bad)... Deals with human existence and purpose pretty much like battle angel alita. Although i feel that the sci fi part was taken forgranted. A+ read nevertheless.
Simply stunning. Surprasses the mind torture of Evangelion, matched with the humanity of Gantz, Elfen Lied, with romance marked with maturity suprassing all teenage dramas. It deserves its 10/10 being THE greatest in its genre, hands down.
I'd like to add how this story is ultimately a love story. You know, I don't know how some people compare the love-comedies to this because as this story quotes "everyone is destined to die", and I'd like to add that life has only run full circle once you have met both love and death. As such, this story feels so wholesome and complete, it is hardly a sad tragedy, but rather a story of mutual redemption, making two people realize their life's worth, in its fullest value, in the most open way.
this manga is the most AMAZINGEST romance, slice of life manga everrrr. i loved this manga and i already read it like 10 times and cried over 8 times. they love each other soo much, this manga is definitely awesome. seriously awesome. if this can turn into an anime, its gonna be the most awesomest romance story ever.
