It’d be nice if Yoh had a little more time to train and mature but the Shaman Fight is only held once every 500 years, so he’s going to have to grow up fast.

This manga was the BEST manga i have ever read (i read hundreds xD) in my point of view Yoh+Anna had the best personalities and the best eyes xD...
Some of the fight scenes were a bit long but the relationship between the characters and the story are great (all the characters)
Yes it isnt the most original, but the character's personalities and the way the author made the characters react to situations was pleasing
and the artwork towards the end is really nice.
Anna had the coolest personality ever
Yoh was just plain awesome (Hao waz too)
Together they are just amazing
They are opposites, but so alike
Note: Volumes 19+20 are nice for romance fans
the best romance ever created
I am a major shounen/romance/fantasy/adventure/action/supernatural fan but this series had it all

Spoiler (highlight to view)
the only reason it had a horrible ending cuz the popularity in shaman king had declined or sumthing (look it up on wikipedia)
"In November of 2004, Shaman King was canceled by Weekly Shonen Jump. Shaman King was let go due to declining popularity in Jump's fan polls (indicated by their willingness to release the final completed manga volume (Vol. 32) if there was a great enough fan response).[1] This cancellation was untimely given that the series was nearing its end.[2] Release of the final volume had been suspended indefinitely, but was released in spring of 2006.[3]
Volume 32 ends with Yoh going to sleep to prepare for the final battle with Hao; the final page is viewed as Manta's dream, which features Hao as a princess with Yoh and his friends on their way to rescue "her". The reason for that is because Anna was speaking to Manta as if Hao was the person in need of rescue. The page contains the words "Owari" ("The End") and next to that, in front of Horohoro's sword, is a mandarin orange, also called "mikan" which is the Japanese word for "incomplete"."
(from wikipedia)
so the author had to finish the whole series but it didnt turn out well
i wish the popularity hadnt dropped so the ending wouldve been better
other than the ending i luv the series

actually this is a good manga but like the post before me it's look the author don't care about detail of the story and the end even make it worse. i think 1 maybe too low but i can't give this manga a good rating either

One because this series rating is way too high.
I can't believe how this mangaka got away with not only a crappy, predictable, corny hogwash of a plot but also with that slap in the face to the many cultures and religions out there.
Most people that liked it don't mind it either because they're japanese, yankees or otaku idiots. Seriously, the sheer disrespect, ignorance and condescencing approach this mangaka took to people like Native Americans, Nordics et al. their customs, speech, etc is just appalling. No, this guy didn't do his homework. He just took a big dump. But, hey, nevermind, just remember, "Eres Correcto!". Freakin' dumbass.

Such an amazing story that it seems as if it should go on forever... cute cute shamans and powerful friendship between them all... it's very SWEET <3 not to mention the humor throughout the whole thing
yet the thing that really bugs me is the ending.. just... didn't seem like it ended...very indefinite..

It's a great manga, it evolves beautifully - the first volume and the last have a huge difference in drawing style. The folklore introduced is well worked on, as well as clearly well researched; there's stuff from all around the world, gods, myths, creatures from imagination, everything. It's the ultimate shaman story, with family issues, blood and guts, and humanity. Only thing missing would be a good end. Oh well. Can't have it all.
Good but not perfect

Spoilers ahead
I really liked this manga , and i think its definately better than the anime. Theres a few things that really bothered me though :
It was way too long. Not much happened in 1 book.
The story became really predictible at the middle. The same things just keep happening ( they live , they die , they live again , they die again.. , or how they always end up beeing friends with their enemies )
And then theres no real end. I guess you cant really blame the author for it , i remember reading a few years ago that they had a petition going if they even should release the last book or not , so Im guessing they made the author stop for whatever reason.
In the end theres that special chapter that shows yohs and annas kid a few years later wich leaves a lot of questions unanswered and doesnt really make sense with the rest of the story since that would mean that they actually had sex in book 9 even though theyre only 13 years old , and during all that time that the shaman fight lasted , anna never showed any signs of beeing pregnant. And then theres the question , why would they actually leave their kid with tamao. It left me unsatisfied ~~
