alot of LOL moments, one of my favorite mangas. my friend's mom walked in on us reading this once. somehow we were so lucky that when she was flipping through the pages she only saw up to the fight scenes. if she had flipped one more page she would've seen a scene of old men being bondaged by middle-school girls... yes dont let this manga lie around if you still have parents-nose-poking problems.
later story lines feel like a bit of reruns. bad students -> worse students -> worser student -> worserer student -> worsererer student etc....
a minor thing thing that i really liked about it was that some pages are absolutely FILLED with texts, where every dialogue has a sub dialogue. and background texts such as signs, titles, newspapers are hilarious to read. also some of the "sound effects" in the fight boxes are hilariously (mis)-used.

Mangas like this are the reason I love manga and make me wanna keep reading them. Yet another of those mangas that i regret not reading earlier. That said, any words of review that I write now will only belittle this excellent manga. I always thought teachers were useless when all they'd do is just scribble the same textbooky stuff on the blackboard and leave. This manga changed that for me. Well, 'nuff said. It's a realistic and very well drawn manga. Read this manga if you still haven't. Highly recommended.

Must read. Don't judge the specifics of this manga based on the comments here, just simply read the manga.
Only thing that makes me angry about this manga is that while the ending was...good... it didn't feel good enough. Almost as if it didn't live up to the previous 199 chapters. I just think it failed to explain some things about the different characters which I'm sure everyone wanted to know. I mean...You're introduced two characters, earlier they seem to fall in love with each other, but never confess... and that's it. The manga doesn't take it any further than that, or explain what happened to those two characters in the end. Just sort of irritates you.

this manga is a masterpeice it really is funny i wish all comedy mangas were like this but there not..it kinda dragged on a little but still worth reading every volume..although the translations got kinda annoying in the beginning like the guy below me said but they fixed it..it also got kinda annoying how Onizuka always made someone accidentally fall onto of the roof top

So much has been said before me about GTO (relate only to the positive).
so I won't bother you with more stuff to read^^
Amazing and funny to tears.
For those who were b**ching about the art style : I'm a very big cretic of manga art, and can't stand bad art, In GTO I find the art really good, realistic, that adds to the plot with all the posibile expretions and so on..
So If you are a big-eye-shoujo lover, I can't help you. (although even big-eye-shoujo lovers must read this amazing piece of art.).

Been years since I saw the anime, except some single eps so thougth it was time to refresh my memory.
Prolly one of the best mangas (& anime) out theire. Especially when you're searching for a comedy. The only thing that annoyed me is that the mangaka is to soft on his villains.
He should have put some suckers in jail. Onizuka is a saint even when he has oni in his name.

Splendid Shounen storytelling at its finest. Senin characterization. Morals by the bucketload. Laugh out loud comedy that doesnt involve teenage girls flipping head over heels exposing themselves. Great character development. Idiocy with a purpose. 10/10.
Edit - For the people who criticize this for unrealism, well I'd just like to throw back that this is one of the most realistic mangas there is. People are scarred, people learn, people are by no means perfect. And of course its an exaggeration, but it does so from realistic standpoints. Sure you got the guy who can bust through walls, but he does so for students who have uptight families, dad's that spend too much time away from home prioritizing work over life. The awesome thing is that the things Onizuka does do, hardly involves saving the world. Like this manga doesn't need over-dramatic life-changing events, but rather emphasizes day to day common problems with the message that change takes action.

This is so horrible... so horribly good. The stuff that happens in the manga may of been tried elsewhere but Onizuka's reactions and actions are just hilarious, and as opposed to being the good teacher and letting his students off by just saving them, he makes sure they learn their lesson first Great great series, he truly deserves the 'G' in GTO. Art is nice as well, not quite lacking, but not your most fancy; though I do love his surprised and sad face expressions, hilarious. The world definitely needs more GTO! T_T Go Onizuka, go and finally rid yourself of your virginity...
